Arizer Solo II

@Formersmoker85 I havent tested this myself, but when you turn the unit on it doesnt heat until you press the up or down button after its on, so I doubt it is heating until you press an up or down button if it is on. When I charge my unit it gets a slight warmth after some time but this is from the electricity charging the battery. Next time I charge my unit I will test out to see if it does what yours seems to be.

Short answer, no the solo2 doesnt heat up when you plug it in, as long as you dont press the up or down button to set temp.

I dab. A lot.
If you plug in the solo the unit turns on (Smiley HI).
If you dont push any button does the heater start heating automatically? It seems as soon as you start cycling through the menus the unit starts heating.

If you don't press a button while charging the vape is in standby mode and will only charge and will not heat. If you press a button you can hold the buttons to turn the vape off and it will turn back on again (because it's plugged in) with the smiley and go back into standby mode. That's a good question, welcome to the Arizer family

Thanks for the help guys.

I've tested the solo yesterday and i'm really impressed.
Really smooth vapor quality and no harshness. I really like the thick heavy hits (@220°C).
I'm still learning to get to know the vape technique wise. Trying to get my herb as evenly roasted as possible is a bit of a challenge but i'm getting there.
At the moment i'm only having some shitty stash so i'm patiently waiting for some good herb to get to flavor town.

Cheers :science:

Drop the temp a bit and play with draw speed. The suggested, thick milkshake draw speed seems to help me with producing an even bowl.

Also finger tamp your flower to 1mm or slightly more.below the lip of the bowl. No contact on the heater surface will prevent early the herb closet to the heater from being uneven

I love the vapor taste with the temps below 390 degrees. I find the higher temps will be a bit harsh for me. A clean stem will keep the flavor going. Lately I’ve been using the smaller stem with no screen. I have no problems with air flow with this unit. Arizer has fixed the milkshake draw so we can enjoy this unit to the fullest.

If you want to use waxes just sandwich them between your bud. I save concentrates for a few times a week at night or before bed.

I prefer the short stem too. Don't really know why, maybe it has slightly better air flow than the longer stem. Both stems work great but short is my fav.

Edit - I never use a screen. Don't see the need.

Strange that they include screens. Some people don't want to risk of some herbs making it through the stem into their mouth, but that's rarely a problem.

The only thing I can think is that It would keep the stem cleaner - but the bowl and screen will require more frequent cleaning to prevent a reduction performance/flavour.

I can get my bowls almost evenly roasted. The top of the bowl always has some pieces of green left.
I'm trying to take long slow draws cause in the beginning i pulled way to hard and that resulted in some uneven bowls where only the lower part was brown almost black.

Yep that's the main problem with screens, they end up clogged with crap. Only occasionally I'll get some
green I'm my mouth. It's rare. Course grind helps.

Don't tamp at all and you'll get perfect abv. Should. At any temp. Make sure your grind isn't super coarse, gotta be grinded.

To help get the heat a little deeper into the bowl, start with a slow draw and increase the pace towards the end. And if you havent been, a 1 minute heat soak to start a session can dramatically improve consistency with the avb.

I can't handle the draw on this thing :( gives me a headache sucking on the solo

Light tamp on the herb?

Have you tried lifting the stem slightly from the base of the oven (a mm or two)?

There is a small tilting action that can be achieved with the stems inserted, see if that helps.

All of the above should get some more air in there and hopefully improve your experience.

A light tamp to keep any flower off the oven floor should be ok?

Anyone know where I can get a wall charger for the solo 2? Got an open box from puffitup and they didn't send me a charger by accident. Can't use the solo till it's charged now and won't be here till Tuesday. So I need to find a charger from a store that'd work

@OF may have a suggestion.

Mine would be to wait for the OEM charger. Or borrow a Solo II charger from a friend.

It wouldnt risk doing any damage to the device, fwiw.

I don't know anyone out here that vapes :(. Thanks may have to wait :(

Unfortunately there's a problem with the connector on the Solo here. Arizer, for whatever reasons (and I can think of a couple.....) uses this standard connector 'out of spec' WRT the voltage. IIRC it's EIJA specification is for something like 6 Volts maximum. Therefore 'nobody' makes a charger in 12 Volts with this connector except Arizer.

Solo I charges will work, just will charge slower, the 'right' charger is much faster.

You can get adapters to use common 12 connectors but it's probably faster to take JC's advice. PIU will have one for you 'in no time flat'.

Bummer about the wait. I hope you have a backup vape?

Merry Christmas to all.

Yeah, try this 'all in one' stem and WT:
http://www.puffitup.com/Arizer-Air-Solo-H2O-Filtration-Stem-p/qtqc.solo-bubb.htm

Not as large in capacity as most of course, but mighty handy, does a good job, easy to use (DOESN'T SPILL), and you get change back from your fifteen dollar bill?

I really like this little water tool. The best thing is it does not leak into the Solo like some others. The downside is sometimes you will get water in your mouth. I stopped that from happening with a glass mouthpiece extension. Now if I could only find it. Ataxian breaks stuff, I just lose it.

I got a new water tool today for myself as a late Christmas present, its a "Nice Glass" 13" double showerhead 14.5mm piece, I like it quite a bit it makes the vapor incredibly smooth while not taking away as much flavour as I thought it might. Got a couple volcano concentrate pads to try reworking/cutting/tearing them to fit my gong/stems lots of fun experimentation to do, and some lovely alien bubba, and x-wing shatter, diesel, rock star kush and watermelon flowers that are absolutely amazing. Merry Christmas to all, hope everyone had a great holiday and saw the people that matter to them.

edit - this is it, i got it with blue where the black is though http://www.niceglass.net/index.php?route=product/product&path=124&product_id=2782

Don't cut or tear the pads. Instead inspect then tease them apart. It's one very long SS wire woven into a tube. Kind of a cross between a 'Chinese finger trap' like you played with as a kid and a chain mail condom you hopefully never play with.

Anyway, you can pull it into a narrow (and longer tube) and carefully cut it to length cutting the wire only once by cutting exactly square with sharp scissors (no chance of it shedding little pieces you might breathe in by accident). Then you can pack it in, but not too tight.

Enjoy your experiments, I did. I came back to using herb (or ABV) instead as the pads can get 'muddy' tasting when they foul and are hard to clean again.
