Discontinued Vapir NO2

I think you said what needed to be said!

Though not recommended here, I have taken the top off my NO2 with the heat on at least 10x a day for over a year now with no problems. I don't however, just leave the top off with the heat on.

I've seen that post by Vitolo before, and it's definitely the most vital information I'll need if I end up getting the NO2. I also actually had that same link open already haha, but thank you for reposting it. That's the exact info I wanted so thank you very much. So far since I posted, I haven't gotten any negative reactions towards buying the NO2, so I think I decided I'll buy it. I'll check puffitup, but otherwise I'll be buying it off Amazon. I just need to wait for the refund from my crappy Skyda and then I'll be able to buy the NO2. I'll be sure to repost once I get it and have tried it. I don't know if another review would help, but I'll be sure to post my opinion. Thanks for all the positive responses.

And I turn on my oven to 450... and leave the door open for kitchen heat in the winter.......
But .....
I do not go into the "Kitchen Appliance Forums".. and and recommend that new stove owners do the same!

but also Jeppy, you just "open it with heat on".... you do not open the unit and then attempt to heat it to max! .... or do you?

No, I have nevr turned it up past 390F. I don't recall ever recommending anyone to do anything? But, I have had a stroke recently, so let me go back and double check.

Just wondering if anybody's got a better solution than me for cleaning the top screen (the screw on part). Mine gets dirty a lot and I try to keep it from getting clogged but I can't help but notice it definitely does not hit any easier than before.

I clean it out on the surface but does anyone do anything more in-depth than this? I do use my NO2 several times daily.

I find the only way to clean it properly is to remove the screen and spread it almost flat while soaking in alcohol. Comes back almost like new. But yeah, you do have to clean it often if you use it several times daily like me. Almost every day to get top performance so it's a good idea to rotate few screens at a time so you always have one fresh ready to go.

A dry brush lightly bushed across that screen after each load keeps it clean for a pretty long while.
I also have many times soaked the top in alcohol without removing the screen.

So I am loving my vapir No2. Used it by itself, with different water filtration every time it has be awesome. I use it at night for sleep, once sometimes twice to get ready for bed.

My question is, can I dump out the vaped weed after I turn the unit off? or do I have to wait for full cool down? Cause sometimes on my second round I forget I have vaped weed in there when I go to warm the unit up. Thanks.

I have forgotten also on a number of occasions.
I also like to vape before bed and drift off still feeling good, so waiting is not always ideal......

the main reason for the cooling is so that after you dump the ABV you can use the nylon brush without risk to clean the unit out.
At bedtime, do what I do...... finish the "load"... turn unit off, and watch the thermostat, and when it sinks below 300, empty the abv, close it up... and clean it up in the morning.....
that way if you forget to "tidy up iside"... you will only be risking a heatup with minor dust in there from the night before.....
when you add the herb, you will notice the clogged top screeen, and you can do a super quick brushup to tidy that... and youre off to the races!

Vito, that is the exact answer I was looking for. I try to leave my self reminder's to dump the ABV, like putting the ABV container next to No2. But it does not always work. So being able to dump it out before walking away will make thing's so much easier. Waiting for it to cool down to 300 will be no problem as I usually have some music in the back ground and can listen to a song or two while letting it cool.

I've had the N02 for well over a year now and it has served me very well as my primary utensil. Four of my friends ended up buying them as first vaporizers after using mine extensively. Two observations: the screens are definitely a significant culprit behind the taste/smell issue. I recently cleaned the vape completely with ISO and fired it up to 400 after it was dry - not a whisp of smoke or smell. I then installed a fresh top and bottom screens, these were OEMs that came with the vapir package and were purchased through an authorized dealer. Immediately i smelled something metallic and saw smoke come out. I removed the screens and took a lighter to them and burned off the residue - all smell/smoke issues gone. It really is a shame that Vapir's quality control is so poor, screens are pretty basic and need to be manufactured better and without byproduct. 2nd, absolutely no reason to buy the ripoff car charger, the generric enercell one from radio shack for 9.99 works perfect.

I am still pretty torn on this product, i like it a lot better than the iolites and the arizer i've used extensively and really think it's the best portable vape on the market. That said Vapir is a terrible company, they clearly have quality control issues that they fail to acknowledge or correct. Their warranty department is a complete joke (one of by buddies battery went, bought through an authorized dealer - they took care of it eventually but it was a 5 email and 5 phone call process). Lastly flooding the market with "unofficial" vaporizers at a lower prices point but refusing to honor the warranty is a very obvious and unethical way for them to move units while protecting their margins... Sadly if mine breaks I'll march right out and buy another one unless something better comes along.

Yeah I noticed the screen stuff too.
now I just drop them in Iso before I use them.

Had my NO2 for a year... I use it daily.
Although I have a few boxes of spare screens, that I bought because I thought I would need them...
I am on my original screens.
I have removed the top screen completely for cleaning only two times in a year...
and I have never had to remove or clean the lower screen with anything but normal brushing.

The same goes for all of my vapes.

I am inexperienced with vaporizers and I am considering buying an NO2. That's why I started reading this thread. I got through several pages, but I couldn't find the good part . . . where they finally figured out what was with the nasty plastic taste, and, more importantly, what to do about it. Would someone please bring me up to speed? Also, are there any other vaporizers that you'd recommend instead around the same price point?

I invite you to read my review that explains what is the smell and what to do about it. I can only recommend the NO2.

Thanks very much, Vaporisateur. You've pretty much got me convinced to buy the NO2. I may also buy a Launch Box for the size+simplicity factor.

Launch box is for a fast hit on the run.
The NO2 gives a full vape session on the move.
It is a marvelous 1st vape too... for one wanting portability and use at home.

i guess my beef with this unit is the fact we have no info from vapir that the materials used in making the n02 are food grade or high temp safe.

the fact that the manufacturer doesnt even mention this on their website has me leary of getting one of these. Although I have seen one in action and it looks like the ultimate portable, i just cant get over the fact it has a o ring next to the bowl which is of unknown material grade and also the entire unit itself seems to be of unknown grade plastic, also the brass bowl, what grade is that?

with these questions answered i would go get a n02 today, but b/c of this im sitting waiting to decide on another brand to get as im so nervous about off gassing and inhaling bad stuff.... :/

The best advice you could be given is to read back through the entire thread.
There is a good chance you will find the information you are looking for.
The tubes at least have been approved by FDA (US FDA 21 CFR 177.1975) regulations, as have the mouthpieces, and water accessories.
As for the mold injected casing...
The casing of the NO2 meets the requirements and is approved by the United States FDA for use in food contact applications and it is heat resistant within the applicable temperature range. Further, the pure Brass heating element has been independently lab tested for performance and chemical content. The testing also included lead, which we felt was very important given the recent focus on lead being found in products without the owners knowledge. Vaporstore.com claims that their independent lab tests found the NO2 had a minuscule trace amount of 0.01%, this is less than what is often found in the air we breathe!
This lab's study is published, and registered with the FDA
Info available at Vaporstore. Contact them for specifics, or research it on your own. (You have a direction now to follow to do your "homework")
These people are very cautious about publishing data, that might contradict FDA requirements/restrictions.

Sometimes these threads get so big its kind of a pain to read the whole thing and the search function doesnt always work that well for me either. it would be coo to see each popular vape get a FAQ page that would be open edit like wikipedia or somehting, that way we could all post out experiences with eachvape and have a quick and easy place to find this sort of rellevant info....dam now back to combustion...hoping to place an order with puffitup today, gonna pay the extra 20 for express so i can vape sooner than later, my lungs are needing it.

ill look into the no2, now i do feel al ittle bit better about the product after reading the info presented by vitolo.

I just aquired some Ken's GDP from a supplier of mine. Taste beautiful out of the NO2. Vito, I started lightly cleaning my screen and inside seal with a soft brush as you recommended. It works great. No more plugs. Right now, the NO2 is my right hand vape.

I am glad you found the way to enjoy this vape.
Due to the small pathway, and the screen type, it must be kept clean, and regularly.
This kept in mind the NO2 has always been one of my favorite medical dosage vaporizers!
I always try to keep that tube clean also. I don't let oils gather up in this spot...

My birthday today and damn I feel old. Probably because I am. I figured at this time in my life, I would be enjoying life somewhere on an deserted island surrounded by beautiful women. Instead I'm surrounded by yelling grandchildren (whom I'm raising at least until I die). I'm heading out to the river for a little walk and vape.
