It is all about the elbow pack method.
I agree with Durden on the draw speed/ strength.
I think first you must find your cyclone bowl temperature.
I used the suggested 190c and raised it to 200c for elbow pack. I ended up with 200c since anything above that lead to possible scorching of herb if the draw was too strong.
200c became the peak temperature I felt confortable that I would never get any dark spots.
I am a fan of the elbow pack and everytime I check my vapo poo, it seems it all vaped evenly.
Pretty awesome to dip your bowl in kief before a big hit.

Does anyone think it would be good idea to pack a cyclone bowl say .2g and pack the elbow for perhaps a denser filled bag?

A poll would be nice to see what % method most used by owners.

I always draw super slow, like as slow as humanly possible, even if it is through my bong. But perhaps you are onto something, with your draw speed/temperature setting theory. I will vape a few elbows at the same temps and use different draw strengths, to see which vapes better. Hopefully i got enough weed left for this kind of experimenting...but o well it is in the name of science lol.

Sorry about the double post but...Tecan Uman i find i prefer about 160C for my first bag/few rips on the whip with the cyclone bowl full, and now i realize i get the same perfect first hits at 160C with the elbow pack method. I used to always just turn it up to 170-180C and start there because i thought i had to turn up the temp (it made sense as it was further away from the heater), but i noticed i was getting really dark left overs, so i turned it down, until i landed at the same temp i normally use with the cyclone, and found i was still getting really good hits. I havent turned the temp actually lower than my preferred cyclone temp, but i will try that in my experimenting tonight, and see if i still get thick vapour.

And packing the bowl AND elbow does give extra thick bags, especially with a few minutes preheat

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. I've read the first thread about the Extreme, and I'm on page 11 of this thread. I had some questions that I was hoping you guys could answer. This would be my first vape, so I'm trying to make the best buy that is in my budget. I get paid on Thursday, so I'll probably be ordering it then if I have enough. I'm sorry if some of the questions have already been answered. If so, could you point me to the answer.

The questions..
1. Is it a different high than combustion? Some people said it was a body high and less of a head high? Is this true? I really like not having to think of anything and my mind being blank. That's why I ask.
2. What is the process of setting it up out of the box to being able to smoke? If someone could make this as detailed as possible, it would be greatly appreciated.
3. I saw a couple of offers of the extreme with a free grinder. I already have a grinder, but a second one with a "pollen catcher" would always be nice too. If you could link me to an offer with a grinder, I'd like that. I live in the U.S. If you could find a manufacture that was in the states that offered a free grinder? I would be forever be in your debt. : )
4. What do you tell people when they ask why you spent $300 on a potpouri warmer? I'm planning on taking it to college, and I wanted to keep it out in the open with the potpouri on it. I just needed an answer to justify why it would be out in the open.
5. When do you uswe the fan? The question is pretty straightforward.
6. Does the vap get dirty? And if so, how do you clean it?

Also, the main reason why I want to buy a vap is because I wanted to get high at college. Pieces are too easy to get caught with when you are driving. I heard vaps don't smell as much as combustion. And I don't want to be stuck smoking blunts and joints my entire college career.

Welcome to the best place to learn about the Extreme!
Take your time to read more and almost all your questions will be answered...just a word on the stealth side...the E is quite hard to hide and the fan used mainly for bags is noisy.
Try to consider a portable vape that you can hide easily and do the first step in the vapor world a bit less expensive!

Welcome to FC Drop. I agree with Marcus. The E is a great Vape and easy to use. But for college and something you could hide easy you might really want to look into a portable. My Favorite is the LB which you can review hereLaunch Box Thread Not trying to disuade you Drop but as Marcus said from they way you make it sound a portable may serve you better being that your main reason you want to get high is at college and personally I think the Launch Box is essential to any NORML college care package

I own both the LB and the Extreme, they both have there uses. If you plan on having friends over/impressing girls with a big fresh bags get the Extreme, everbody will think you're generous, they wont know your only using a .02. the fan is not that loud, turn the music on low and your good to go. You'll pick up a portable down the line. It always happens.

if dropitoff got the money the E is a good buy but i see the easier way to go with a good portable then if he really likes the vapor can upgrade with some more experience and more reading on the net.......

I dont disagree that a portable (LB) would be a of great use in a school setting, but to me a nice desktop unit (the E) would be more pratical for a dorm room setting. Plus you cant beat the feeling of seeing a big bag of fresh vapor at the end of the day and then sharing it with friends. (might even make new ones) Just my .02 cents.

There is no reason to spend $300 on a machine that makes the room smell good. But, how would anyone know the price? You'd have to wait a while, but I think the PD might make a much better dorm room buddy. The E is not the most stealth vape on the market, but it does fit the party crowd well. A micro bag of popcorn might cover of that vape smell well, and also be a tasty after vape snack.

I was just thinking I could hide it in a drawer, and let the whip trail out. I hit it when I want, and I leave when I don't. I would just have a power cord trailing into the drawer from the outlet. I've been really looking forward to buying this. I just wanna do my research first. : )

The E will go big. It was my first vape and it was the best investment ive made in regards to my health, and personal enjoyment. If you need a whip only vape then I would second the PD vape. If Bags are your style go with the E. I only use Bags when my buddies are over, when they leave they can't remeber how to tie thier shoes.

DropItOff, the extreme is a very good vape IMO and will suit your needs well. However a portable like the LB of vaporgenie may also suit you well, or as a few mentioned the PD might be what you need. You must evaluate your needs and wants to decide which vape will suit you best. But on the other hand, the extreme is pretty much a "do it all" vapourizer. It can blow thick milky bags as well as allow you to vape on demand using the whip. Also both of these methods can be used through a water/ice pipe as well. The extreme can also be moderately stealthy if need be, just leave it plugged in in a drawer, and just pull it out to fill a bag or rip a few whip hits when needed. The ONE thing i would consider though, is that there are a few parts on the extreme that are breakable. Mind you Arizer is very good for customer service and will help there best to fix it, but once you vape it is rough when you dont have one for a few days. I dont own a PD, but from the extensive reading i have done, i've heard it is virtually indistructable, although it can't blow ballons full of vapour . It is also very efficient, although i contest that the E is also very efficient if using the elbow pack method in the whip. The extreme also allows you to accurately control the temp you vape at, which is a feature that i think i couldnt go without now.

Think about it....

After a few more bowls with the elbow pack. I have lowered my temp to 180c. I am using a slow long paced draw. I am getting cooler hits which in returns = longer hold and more flavor.

I have yet to try and master the bag or standard pack, but the elbow pack gives me big clouds and I can session .150g in about 4 repacks, with no dark spots and even vape all over.
I try to be all about stealth when I need to, and the lower temperature always helps. The vape smell dissipates quicker and it is almost unnoticable after a few seconds or minutes.

I owned a vapman and that was always my issue. Since the unit is small, it collects smell very fast and since its easy to go over when heating, a smelly unit was almost inevitable.
Thus the Iolite purchase.
The LB seems the best for immediate session in a public bathroom, etc.

When you are home though. There is nothing like a great desktop vape.

For the last poster trying to be stealth. Take in consideration amount of use when getting a portable because they normally are not meant for use like desktop vapes.
The PD seems like your best bet, but you must wait.

i vaped all day every from my bed and desk while i wrote essays and other stuff. i always blew the vapor out the window and kept them open for ventilation but IMO its unnecessary. im just a rather be safe than sorry type of guy especially when it involves putting my future in jeopardy.

The wierdest thing happened to my E last night. I plugged it in and the display was all messed up. It showed the top half of the screen on the bottom of the screen and vise versa. There was also lines though it and one half was darker than the other half. I simply turned it off, waited a second and turned it back on and it was fine. Did it a few more times and its still fine. This happen to anyone else ever? Anyone know why this would happen?
