i'm finally gonna make the jump to the volcano it would be my first desktop vape. I have a question thou should i get the digital or the analog one ? is there much of a difference ?

KidKush91,

Sometimes to stupid to become a fool
is there much of a difference
performance wise - nope, imo there would be more difference between EasyValve and SolidValve (Easy valve winning with a bit more surface area, less heatsink and simpler handling...)

for the digit:
-shiny display, buttons instead of knob and a bit better temp regulation

for the classic:
-more shiny aluminium surface , less buttons - more keep it simple stupid ;), a tiny click 'noise' from the bi metall switch every 5min or so (like a very slow metronome :D )

nutpicking would be to say classic seems to be a bit more durable - i've seen a cano with ripped out busted airpump used as a whip vape

Hi guys, i've recently bought a Volcano, and a love it. I also try a pax and a crafty, but i don't like these too much. I use the Volcano normaly alone, so i put in like a .1 and i can obtain like 5 bags to different temperatures. I've some question: you think it's better to use the liquid pad to pack the material? Which grinder do you use? And some of you that have a Volcano have also a crafty? What about it?

Thank you so much

The liquid pad is too much of a carry on to get back out for my liking so i dont use it now but in my opinion using is a doubke edged sword as i think you just get thicker, whiter, more potent bags but less of them.i quite like hiw good of a job my orange storz and bickel grinder does that came with my volcano, its much better than any other standard plastic one ive had before but if i could habe any i wanted i think id habe a newvape fine grind.i have not tried the crafty but i do own a pax 3 that is ok,better than ok for its intended use as a portable tho

They compliment each other well.
I prefer the mighty, and have given Crafty to a local patient, but they are very close.
A good pair of devices for convection fans.

I don't use a liquid pad, I place my material on the solid valve chamber with the help of Magic Flight Grinder, after first grinding it through a space case grinder. After the MF grinder, everything powdery and covers the chamber pretty well at .2 grams.

How many bags do you get from .2 what temps do you work through?also how long is your bag?

thank you, i seen it on vapecritic.com and seems very intresting, but seems also too big, do you have it? it's easy to clean? same price also this is very intresting

https://thevape.guide/slx-grinder-review/

but i'm wondering about this

https://www.vapeworld.com/magic-flight-finishing-grinder

but seems also too big,

Too big for what...its a grinder, put what you want into it

do you have it?

Yes, I have it, otherwise I wouldn't have recommended it to you nor called it the best fine grinder

it's easy to clean?

I'm not sure what you are concerned with here...its a two piece aluminum grinder. Open it up, brush out stray herb...if you must, take a bit of ISO to it.

same price also this is very intresting

Well, I gave you my recommendation, but the choice is of course yours.

Cheers

I am a 2 piece grinder fan all the way.
If @Baron23 makes a recommendation in this area I would pay attention to his recommendation.

Thee finishing grinder does require maintenance and gives only a fine grind.
A 2 piece, mulches the herb as far as you wish, and you do not have to even consider the grinder's special needs. You can get stronger hits by not separating the original grind using a screen /kief Separator.

You are right, wrong question, I mean, i love also the original s&b grinder, but i have to clean frequently, it's the same for your?

I have never used the plastic S&B grinder...just don't see plastic as the proper material to make grinder blades out of.

As I said, I brush the grinder out with the S&B brush and have once in two years used some ISO to clean it.

I just don't get anal about cleaning a grinder but we all have our own priorities and desires.

Best to you.

Came to read about grinders; fucked combustion
Amazing for gimpy hands. I used to hate 2-piece grinders. Then got pissed off with my 4-piece SCS and tried the Volcano grinder that had been sitting around for several months. Loved it. I don't use anything else now. My SCS and others just sit there looking pretty.

I can't use any other 2-piece.

Can anyone tell me how you're supposed to replace the bottom screen in the solid valve? It literally seems completely physically impossible and when I replace it it's always all bunched up and damaged because it seems physically impossible to get it to fit.

When you get a new volcano the screen is absolutely perfect, it's almost like they're casting the metal part around an existing screen and it's then impossible to ever replace it properly.

Thanks for any help on this seemingly impossible task (I've had a Volcano since around 2005 and still don't have the slightest clue how to replace the bottom screen).
