Those who understand the ECS, understand that supplementing it with moderate cannabis intake is a natural and medically important technique. When pregnant, it's even more important to have a properly fed ECS, so mom's and baby's systems are in balance during this important time

I've known a bunch of mothers who used during pregnancy. Not one had a pregnancy issue and none of their children (now adults) had "noticeable" issues. Anecdotal to be sure though.

My wife stopped smoking cigarettes and herb during her pregnancies. She's a Nervous Nellie and to be honest I'm glad she didn't smoke anything during our pregnancy's.

She came close to smoking herb when one pregnancy's morning sickness was so bad it was affecting her and the baby's health and the doctor was going to prescribe nausea meds if the nausea didn't normalize. The wife and I agreed that rather than take nausea meds she would smoke herb instead to battle the nausea (There were no vapes back when we had children...just dinosaurs ;-). Fortunately the nausea subsided.

Even back then it made sense to us to consider herb over prescription meds.

Apologies #m0sh, maybe I'm just an old guy.. I find this thread disturbing. Certainly one could argue mothers to be are putting far worse things in their bodies like GMOs etc.. hopefully common sense prevails and expectant mothers carefully monitor their intake

A friend of mine told me that I should not allow her (As if I decide lol) in the first 3 months just to be on the safe and from then onward she should.
Any idea what do people talk about the first 3 months?

Apologies, I'm not sure I follow on what you tried to say.
Are you afraid of discussing something that has a taboo and it might not for the right reasons?

You don't have to be an old guy to be afraid of learning, you should always be open for new information.
Its not good to be on either sides of the equation. Its all about balance.
We are just talking (and supplying some medical data and it slowly slowly gathering more and more).

Once again, I came here talk, I hope you understand (LOL this is coldplay's song lyrics haha)

I apologized as I do not support this kind of thread on FC. Medical cannibis discussions regarding adults are fair game, forcing medical or other cannibis on others without their input goes against my beliefs.

What I fear is less reasonable people will perceive this thread as authoritative, the latest greatest information on cannibis and pregnancy. The human condition is incredible fragile, especially the wonderful ability we have to create human life.

I am all for learning and strongly believe the medical benefits of cannibis are far reaching, that they will far surpass acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin), but I also feel strongly that the patient has a choice. In this instance, pregnancy, the mother is not the only recipient.

Ok. Now you are more clear.
I apologize that I have to call you old fashion, from your words i can sense you're scared.
Where did it say in this thread that someone is forcing cannabis on others?

I'm actually quite upset with your second paragraph, you should someone from the anti drugs alliance or whatever its called over the states.
You fear less reasonable do what? Its the same thing, whatever you do you can't force people and to treat this by silence is just wrong.
Your final paragraph is false, if you cared to learn, you wouldn't be afraid to read subjects like this, on a very specific board and in a very specific place.
It looks like you're already decided that this is bad, no matter what, otherwise you wouldnt be so afraid to even talk about it.
Examine the thread again, no forcing, asking for opinion, later on, supply researches that make you think and some real information by users, stuff that can be checked for yourself and be proven, and then my 100% solid facts over sperm.

Ignorance is being afraid to learn new things.

#m0sh, I’m not looking for a confrontation, I stated an opinion and in turn you acuse me of being scared. I am not sure what is accomplished by acusing someone of being scared. It’s clear we disagree which is okay, that’s what makes the world go round.

You clearly missed the point, as you are acting no different than the anti drug parties, spreading fear of discussion because some people might take what has been asked here as facts? young women will consume cannabis before of the info they read here? not that I even understand that because it just a thread asking for opinion and more valid information, the idea of not having this discussion is mind boggling and IMO stupid.

Once again, you assume (based on what you wrote) that whatever you think is true, must be true, so you wouldn't care to read researches and stuff like that, because its not something to joke about.

After reading the researches (and in my country the study is very advanced and groundbreaking), hearing people out here and having my own set of tests, I am more than confident, that the taboo on this subject needs to go away.

We did not promote anyone to consume cannabis, that's only in your head.
And yes, if you find this thread distributing and that it shouldn't be on this board, then sir, I'm very sorry, you are scared.

Good day.

What is not appropriate is a discussion about what threads should be allowed on FC. If a thread breaks the rules, report it and do not engage in a discussion of why it shouldn't be allowed. In this case, despite your misgivings, this thread breaks no rules and there is no reason not to allow it.

For like ever humans have been consuming intoxicants and chemicals that make them go hmmm (that feels better!) while pregnant or pre-pregnant, so maybe the common sense thing to say is what doctors already say about so many activities in moderation.

Whatever we are unable to do in moderation is more likely to kill us than make us stronger, including our unborn kiddoes.

Interestingly, I know very few people who consume alcohol and tobacco in moderation, but I know many people for whom the only thing they seem to be able to do in moderation is cannabis, as in eating, vaping, or smoking.

So if my sister were a careful medical user before pregnancy, and her state forbade her to use while pregnant, and she struggled with morning sickness, I would be infuriated if the medical laws seemed to push doxylamine, an anticholinergic that disrupts brain acetylcholine activity, as an acceptable remedy. And I see that my state does in fact prohibit moderate cannabis use in favor of all kinds of anticholinergic drugs for pregnant women...Prozac and beyond.

I’d avoid it. There are nowhere near enough studies showing that it is beneficial during pregnancy. It’s not worth risking causing your child lifelong issues. You’re better if taking the 9 month Cannabis break, along with a break from alcohol and cigarettes, if you use those.

they are clueless for all I care, and you can pretty much understand that when they think Cannabis as a drug.

"Having it be medical does not remove the problem." - having Cannabis tagged as a "drug" is the reason for this black and white stance.
Cannabis IS a drug. That’s a fact, and not an opinion that’s up for debate.

Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it isn’t a drug, or isn’t harmful.

Lots of plants are/can be used as drugs. Some of them have medically beneficial qualities.

Cannabis is a drug but that does mean it is harmful, in fact, quite the contrary.
Drug definition:
a substance intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease

Many drugs are bad /harmful/ addicting/have horrendous side-effects. Now those are the ones can give the term "drug" a bad name.
That's why I tend to use another term, due to the stigma and ignorance out there. I call cannabis a "natural health supplement" which is EXACTLY what it is. Cannabis (phytocannabinoids) supplement the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) . The ECS is brains behing virtually all of your body systems, keeps them all in balance.

Cannabis is nature's supplement to our ECS system, that's why it is effective in curing, mitigating, treating, and preventing diseases from A-Z. Cannabinoids are needed to get pregnant, and are even more important during a pregnancy---to help keep mom's body/mind/spirit balanced during this important time.

Microdose vaping before/during /after (mom's milk is rich in cannabinoids) pregnancy would be a big medical plus for almost all moms. There is massive evidence to support the gigantic medical benefits of cannabis with the tiniest tiniest of negative effects.
Is there any substance which has even 1/1000 the med benefits of cannabis???

Let's not continue the stigma, please

The same way the word "drug" has a negative connotation for many people, the whole "weed is not a drug" thing has the opposite effect. It makes it seem like there are no negatives.

It might not be as harmful as other drugs, but it does have negatives, like everything else, and developing brains aren't supposed to have higher than normal levels of these cannabinoids. It can have lasting negative effects on the brains of children and teens up to their early 20's. It seems foolish, to think that a fetus is better off being dosed with Cannabis than a child or teen.

Also, if someone feels the effects of Cannabis, they didn't just put themselves into homeostasis. They took themselves out of it, hence the feeling different. That isn't necessarily bad, but to recommend it for a fetus, without significant medical backing, is way too risky.

Would you want someone to blow Cannabis vapor/smoke into your newborns face? I wouldn't, and I wouldn't want my newborn's mother to dose herself and the baby with it, either.

?? did you read his posts?? His wife vapes 0.015 - 0.025 grams, on weekends only. We're not talking "Bobbie Marley" smoking giant blunts here :)

So what kind of negative effects are there in general? And what kind of effects from that micro-dose?

I would definitely want mom and unborn to have phytocannabinoid supplements as both their ECS systems need to be at full performance.

You do list some very bold (not substantiated statements) like "if you feel the effects of cannabis, it does not put you in homeostasis." Virtually impossible to even offer up as no way to judge---what's your homeostasis number???

The studies on teens are being shown to be insufficient/off base and not even germane as we are only talking vaping a microdose.

It's time to brush up on the ECS system as knowing it is key to all things cannabis :)

If anything it would benefit the mothers endocannabinoid system + the childs, remember the mothers body (lungs) will be the ones doing the inhale so they will be the ones getting "hit" by some toxins maybe. but as i said earlier smoke organic, and preferable make some solventless extract like dry sift or rosin and enjoy the wonderful medical effects of cannabis without smoking/vapin all that plant fiber!

When we are in homeostasis, we don’t “feel something different”. Getting a buzz of any kind is being taken out of homeostasis for the time being.

Also, more doesn’t equal better. More cannabinoids doesn’t equal a healthier or more efficient ECS.

Again, the same way I wouldn’t let someone blow Cannabis vapor into my newborns face, I wouldn’t let the mother of my unborn child consume Cannabis.

when you create more cannabinoids via feeling good in general or running or sex etc... is that homeostasis to you? you feel better right? more cannabinoids etc... cannabis use is equivalent to a runners high and that too is molecule dependent as your aware of cbd / thc-a etc .... cannabis is not a one size fits all and cannot be boxed up to fit societies scaredness

No. When you have a runner’s high or an orgasm you are not in homeostasis. You have taken yourself out of it, which is why you feel those feelings. Your hormones are thrown out of balance.

More cannabinoids =/= better all the time. That’s a common belief held by a lot of cannabis users, but it has no legitimate backing. Nowhere have I seen definitive proof that it’s always better to have artificially elevated cannabinoid levels.
