Quetzalcoatl

DEADY GUERRERO/DIRT COBAIN/GEORGE KUSH
Ok I'm new here upon suggestion from Summer via another forum . Not interested in doing all the "Welcome to the Forum" BS. So jumping into what interests me. About me, In my 60's recently retired from professional position that prohibited from my partaking in recreation. Been YEARS since I had a joint. Not knowing of all the goodies available now I am using a dug out box, which reminds me why I really didn't like smoking joints. It wasn't until I started looking at reviews, videos etc. that I found I was really missing something which brings me here. I too am waiting on BF for discounted pricing for an "M" to try. Seems there may be a pretty high demand for Dynavap products this weekend. Hope they have a good inventory and I don't miss out!!!!
VapCaps sound right up your ally. It emulates the dugout/one hitter feel with the small load at the end and heating it at the end, and also hits some of the "joint smoking" type feels. Small, in your hand, you get vapor as you inhale like you would with a joint, no need to hold a lighter up to your face like a one hitter. So long as you have the manual dexterity to operate a small jet lighter and spin the VapCap, this looks like a good choice. I only mention manual dexterity because while I'm not in my 60's, I do have constant pain in the joints in my hands (all of them). There were times when I would pick something else because as much as I loved my VapCaps, I couldn't use them the way I wanted. @Pipes makes induction heaters and I believe somebody else is messing around with them as well, which would solve that problem, but for money...

How much are you looking to spend on a "trial VapCap M" by the way? Thanksgiving is coming up and there are a lot of people that are not very fortunate or have little to be thankful for. I'll make you a deal. If you donate $25 to Doctors Without Borders and send me a personal message of the confirmation for donation page, I'll mail you the last VapCap M that I got from that anonymous donor. It's a full unit, so it has the metal screen and the actual cap and it comes in its own little green tube. That means you'll only need to purchase a jet lighter of your choice to heat it up and use.

This is one of few organizations that really do use the donation money in the best ways possible. I don't care who you put it on behalf of. The doctors that work there are angels sent from heaven if such a thing is possible. They just recently reached a deal to obtain generic medications to treat Hepatitis C for around $1.50 a day. People's lives are literally going to be changed for $1.50 a day. I have some semi-serious health issues myself and to think that people will benefit from such a small amount of money in such a big way really puts things into perspective for me...

@Quetzalcoatl Thank you for the info on DWB charity! I didn't know how their donations were allocated, you are correct in that it's important to know where the $ goes. I discovered Red Cross UK uses donations in shocking ways that do nothing for those I wanted to help, so been wanting a new way to help. As an FCer who's life has been saved at least 6 times by modern medicine, the thought of folks with no access to even basic medicine/healthcare touches me. So often I need my perspective adjusted, even with my medical past because I'm a human, I can & do often lose perspective on how great just being alive is.

Love VapCap magic!

I s'pose this is heretical or sum'tin' but I am topped up on my 'Cappers' Delight(s):
Omni / M / M (sb) / gen7 tip / parts for each / Skeletor induction htr...

"Ms for Friends pt 2" (or...something new?) may be the key to my taking advantage of any Black Friday action...I can barely do justice to what I've got (but I AM trying)

Lou, a Ti Gen 7 tip? How about a tip? I missed Ti Gen 6?

We are indeed picking up the pace.....:D

I went straight for the woody and am so glad I did. You know the old saying... buy nice or buy twice. The spinning mp makes it the most effortless model to get precise torch placement on with a 1 or 2 flame torch (i.e, heating only at the tip or only at the bottom of the cap)..
If u think about it, $100 for something as on-demand and as good a performer as it is is a bargian...to get this level of performance and efficiency out of an e-vape youd have to spend alot more. Every on-demand electronic herb vape out there costs at least twice as much as a woody.

Lol, 4 heat cycles IS a session for me and thats on the smallest chamber size not even filling it to the top. Put it on the largest chamber w/ over twice as much bud and you can get 8-10 cycles out of it no problemo.
@mccringleberry - I get 4 heat cycles out of a FULL bowl! Care to share your method of getting 8-10 as I'll try anything once!

What difference does it make if you order the Omni XL condenser ($80), a cocobolo stem ($35 - 40), a ti tip ($40) & a cap ($20) individually. Comes out to $180; whereas the Omni XL w/ ti stem fully assembled is $185, so the pricing is competitive. It's simple to assemble the parts.
I haven't done the math on your purchase, but for the 420 sale I bought a bunch of parts that ended up being the full part list of a Nonavong minus a cap, and after the fact I realized that the price had turned out to be exactly what it would have cost to just buy a complete Nonavong, cap included.
My point is that buying a complete VC from the part list could cost more than buying a complete VC. Be sure to do the math first if you are going that way..

Doctors Without Borders is one of the "Smile" charities that can be added to your Amazon account to get a tiny piece of your purchases. It IS a tiny piece, but many tiny pieces pile up to significant charity and it costs nothing to you. Definitely worthwhile.

Added: I also wanted to remind (and share with @Edward Hyde ) that there IS a black Friday thread... http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/black-friday-2017.25692/#post-1183583

@stardustsailor posted this on his thread, but it's definitely worthy of being reposted here. Damn! Now I want a gen 4/7 fin more than ever.

"A ) Stems : metal vs mineral/organic and length .
- Stems made out of Titanium (or stainless steel ,copper, bronze, etc) do absorb more
heat from vapor than stems made out of wood, carbon fiber,acrylic/PMMA,bone,horn,etc.
Thus,the vapor is somewhat cooler.
- The XL (79 mm) stems provide cooler vapor than the standard length (62 mm) stems.

B ) Toking : Mouthpulling vs lung inhaling
- Mouthpulls are creating a negative pressure only inside the mouth cavity ,with
the utilisation of facial muscles (mainly the cheeks ) .The range of muscle movement is quite
limited ,but the negative pressure created by mouthpulls is quite big.
My own longest mouthpull is not more than 2-3 seconds.
Smoking a cigarette, sucking liquids from a straw/tube are two examples of mouthpull utilisation.
The vapor stays for a while in the mouth cavity before it gets inhaled from the lungs.
Thus,it cools and gets filtered also.Using a carbless stem on a VapCap is the same as operating
the VC with the carb hole fully closed. So,mouthpulls is the only way to go ,at this case.

-Lung inhaling is creating a negative pressure almost
throughout the whole human respiratory apparatus.
The diaphragm and the sternum muscles are utilised.
The range of muscle movement is rather large,
but the negative pressure created by lung inhalling is quite limited.
Duration of toke can go up to 10 seconds ,
with some individuals being able to extend this limit even further.
Deep breathing ,feeling the lungs before a dive, toking from a whip /balloon are some examples.
As it is understood and probably well experienced ,any draw restriction at this case
will only cause discomfort .

C ) 4th gen / 7 fin Ti tip vs 5th gen / 5 fin Ti tip : A personal experience

The new Ti tip ( 5th gen ) has 20% less mass than the 4th gen tip.
That means that it has 20% less thermal capacitance ,also.
In practice the 5th gen tip is 20% faster than the 4th gen tip.
Quite small difference ,but with the use of different length Ti stems ,
it kinda makes a "statement" to a keen and experienced VC user.

4th gen Ti tip + 62 mm standard length stem : Quite a lot of vapor production,
with full "body" vapor .Somewhat hot also, with the aroma & taste being subdued.

4th gen Ti tip + 79 mm XL length stem : A perfect combination !
Lots of vapor production ,the body of the vapor is there, the taste & aroma also there
and the temperature of the vapor is just as it has to be.

5th gen Ti tip + 62 mm standard length stem : It's my second favourite option.
It's like the above combo, just with a bit more taste & aroma somewhat, but the vapor
also being a bit hotter with less body .

5th gen Ti tip + 79 mm XL length stem : A good combo for resin, oil, wax ,etc.
With this combo ,going a bit past the click will quickly increase the chamber temperature
to the extraction point ,but also will quickly start decreasing thus not allowing for mishappens.
The vapor is quite cool ,at least for the high temps involved .
Reminds of dabbing.
If used with herb ,this combo is the best option for aroma & taste (respecting the click ,this time),but the vapor lacks a heavy body .Very cool and aromatic vapor ,but rather " light bodied ".
Ideal for those with sensitive respiratory system."

Are you using low quality bud with barely any crystals at all? It will vary with bud quality, the size of the hits, how far you take your AVB, and whether or not you grind. But if I set the chamber to the largest size and fill to the brim with ground bud, I can get at least 10 cycles with the top shelf California stuff we have here. But 99% of the time, I use the smallest chamber and do a short session with 0.03-0.04 because thats all I need. Itll also vary based on varying preferences of how extracted you like your herb to be..

Just a beautiful comparison post! How do we put this in best of???

Also, was reflecting on the many frames of reference available in this forum. My favorite vapcap? The one that is out today!!!

Obviously we do this differently, but are you saying that you can get 10 cycles with visible vapor? That is quite impressive and WAY better than I can do.

Lately I've been thinking ,that apart from the way the tip/cap combo is heated
and the way the user inhales ,the quality ,humidity & surface (grinded or not )
of herb ,are also three more variables ,which in combination with the former two ,
they kinda "set" or "limit " the number of heat cycles till ABV residues are obtained .
Alterations to any or more of the five forementioned variables
can score from minimun 2-3 cycles ,
up to a of 7-8 heat cycles -or even more ! ,
all with visible vapor -except the first cycle maybe.

Cheers.

@cybrguy I've done 8-10 click bowls with the lightest of vapor production thru out the bowl.

Woodporn on a school night anyone?
Top to bottom, 18mm Mi/VC, 62mm vong and a 100mm stem.

I noticed you didn't mention glass in this materials description. Is that because you believe that glass stems may absorb more heat (and cool off vapor better) than Ti or other metals? I'm guessing so but what do you think? I am thinking here about other stem based vapes rather than VCs specifically.

You may have not mentioned glass because the glass VCs are mostly history.
