Thought @Squiby ’s post on Vaporasylum might be of interest here, too:

@Squiby, would you please retrace the evolution of the Ti tips, from version I-IV, the rapid changes, towards greater airflow. Please.:smug: :sifone:

The subtle modifications, the calculus of refinements. Thank you.

“I own vapcaps sporting the second generation tip and the third generation tip; the first tip to be manufactured in-house at Dynavap.

The third generation tip was released last fall and it improved the air flow and convection ratio with the addition of more grooves on the outside of the tip. This allowed more air to be pulled and heated between the cap and the tip.

The forth generation and current tip has improved upon this feature even more by creating deeper and wider air channels.

I don't own a forth generation tip but am hoping to buy a few during the 420 sale.

I believe that the earlier tips had fewer and thicker heat disbursement fins as well.

Unfortunately, I don't have direct knowledge of all the refinements that took place in the Vapcap evolution. Maybe someone else with the earlier models can add to this.”

Thank you, Squiby! Peterpants

You could be a trailblazer in Oz if you decide to become a VapCap retailer, @vapcat!

No more slow boats for our Friends down under.

BTW, welcome to a beehive of a vaping niche! The VapCats of FC. :D

I was very surprised that we don't have them anywhere... and they're so fucking great  every smoker should have one... and become a vaperer :)

Thank you all for the kind welcome, and I hope no one minds that I took the username of vapcap for myself... picked it up from you guys

my Omnivap and Dynastash has quickly become to go to unit for out and about. I just utilize small pieces to do away with the additional step of grinding and the flavor and the cloud production is great. I know I still have a bunch to learn to fully utilize but it is just so great.

Just a dude
So just on a whim I switched out the coarse disc for the fine on my Kannastor. I'd never used it for the M, just the coarse one. Loaded it full load, half-load, full and maybe another half, I can't remember... :ko: I got carried away on cloud after thick vapor cloud, consistently. I've tried the @Squiby hand-torn nuglet, chunky bits, coarse grind because I've been under the impression the VC wanted it that way. Not sure why? But for me with the M, fine grind rocked my face off. I'm slow admittedly with regard to VC tek, but I realised I've been getting antsy, getting too close to the twin flame, prematurely roasting the load without all of the active goodies extracted into me on a consistent basis. I believe this poor impatient technique combined with chunky budlets lead to less than ideal extraction every time. More distant flame, more patient me, finer grind is the equation I plan to fine-tune because I am gob smacked!

My only two points are this:
1) my mental thickness can't be overstated
2) keep experimenting until you can't see straight! :science:

Gound herb is where its at. Its a must for tiny (0.02) loads. I cant get the vapcap to work when i run a tiny unground nug that tumbles around.

Also I have a newb question about the induction heaters, are there any that are battery powered/portable? Or are they all for plug in/home use? It would be nice if theres one that utilizes some F-size 6V lantern batteries..

That's been my formula for awhile. No nugs.

Everybody should try this at least once in their life :D

Out of laziness mostly, I've been doing nothing but fine grind on all my vapes.
Vapes great with consistent abv.Grind it and forget it.
Newvape fine grinder on my Black Friday list.

Has anyone who purchased one of the new nanovongs have any issues with mating glass? I made a trade for one of the older nanovongs a few days ago and realized I really like how cute and small it is. Sadly I had to send the vong back because my parcel arrived damaged and missing what I sent. In any case, the vong was very skinny and didn't mate with the 14mm glass at all, the whole thing just drops all the way down the joint. I'm hoping to pick one up in BF and was wondering if there's any issues for anyone, thanks

I suspect the fit issue you described was a motivating factor for the redesign. I don't have a new one yet, but it looks like the tapered end is fatter and would not have the same problem as the first gen.

The only plugin IH from @Pipes is the JarHead. The Skelly, the PortSide and the coming PSMini are all battery operated. Skelly and PS use 16850s and the mini is still working out exactly what they will use...

@vapcat Well done on the username! Do you follow the footy? (Carn' the Bombers ).

Haha thank you! I thought it was very fitting also :)

Footy has never been my thing... immigrated to aus when I was 6 and dispite trying, could never really get in to it. My first friend at school went for the bombers so naturally I did as well... or I would say I did.. but I never really liked the game. Probably coz I sucked at playing. Blasphemy, I know...

L to R: nonavong in adapter, Ed's vong in adapter, nonavong in grav joint, Ed's vong in grav joint. Just showing that old nonavongs sit lower than old vongs and not all 14mm joints are the same.

The way the downstem on that grav piece narrows after the joint makes it so nonavong + omni can't seal because of the mp. Not a problem with the Ed's vong because it leaves room for mp.

The new nonavongs look fatter to me and, based on my experience, I assumed dynavap might have redesigned them to avoid that type of interference; however, there are lots of nonavong use scenarios that don't involve an mp and would work perfectly fine, so the redesign could have been for other reasons entirely.

Did I bag the Unicorn?
I took a chance on those Gen3 listed at theherbcafe.com

You took a chance & it really paid off. You took a chance on 2? That was brave. Truly happy for you, bro! Enjoy! And do post back your opinion of 4 vs. 5.

@ $60 w/ prob. $20 ship to US that's too hefty for me no matter how much I want it. But, having seen @paehtod's post above,

Link

if you bought a blackwood ti woody (looks like it applies to other woody's as well) with this gen 4 tip from puffitup, with the BF 20% discount, you could get a whole vc with that sought-after tip for as little as $64. Great deal.

OT, ... to all my beloved vc cohorts I want to share the following link. Beautiful & unique pics of trees.

Well, there you have it; George spirals both ways. :p

I imagine that the gen 3, being the first in-house manufactured tip, it took some time and experimentation to determine that he prefers to spiral to the right.

Mayhaps he George will experiment with a double helix, and transpose some genes, to
the perfect VapCap. A bionic VapCap. :science:

Of course we will all want one. Incrementally, the path to least
Air resistance.

Induction on. VapCats! :spliff:

@Summer shared a pic of the stem she is getting from SDS (@stardustsailor ), thought
she wouldn’t mind if I shared. nice

To sandblast M or not to sanblast and go with the normal M.
Ok, a Vapcap will be coming my way as a hopper backup and for introducing smokers to vaping.
Just waiting for a black friday deal.
Besides the optic and the textured touch; what else is to know about the sandblast M ?

is it just a gimmik ?
