I just got a Woody Ti XL and since I already had an Omnivap XL, I’ve decided to use the already used cap and keep the new cap clean.
However, the Woody cap is loose when I use it in the Omnivap, to the point that it will almost fall If I turn the Omni upside down. Why is that? Is there any way to fix this?

Hey everyone, the search function wielded nothing, so I ask: can/should you use a car lighter to heat a vapcap?

The car cigarette lighter is not a CONSTANT heat source, so it may/may not always be satisfying, to the click.

OTOH: the HANDY PIH is a “match” for your DANDY VapCap. Get one if you can.

Two teams .
The "Ketchups" and the "Mustards" .
I don't know what the hell you're talking about, but I'm with the Mustards.:rockon:Game on!

Who of you have a Vapcap and a Vapman? Which do you enjoy more?
I have both. I bought the Vapman first. It is lovely, cute and easy to heat. But it can only be heated with a single jet lighter and you'll end up charing the basic model unless you have a Vapman Station. Cleaning the Vapman is more tedious than the Vapcap and I find the vapor slightly harsher than the Vapcap. The cute egg shape of the Vapman makes portability a bit more bulky but I love the egg containers. I use them to contain my ABV from my Vapcap.

Although I have loved my Vapman, it has been totally replaced by my Vapcaps. I have three Vapmans and will likely sell one or two or give them away. But I will keep my original walnut classic for old times sake.

@VapCap

I broke the body to my Ti glassy the other day, and when I went to the site, I can't find replacement Ti Glassy bodies listed in the parts section. I can't even see the Ti Glassy as listed for sale any more.

Is there a way to still purchase replacements, or am I just screwed?

Well, I'm not sure I would agree that you are "screwed". If you can't get a glass stem, you can always get a wood or metal one. I think "screwed" would imply you have to throw it out or can't use the parts you have...

I don't think it's reasonable to ask DV to continue making devices that people aren't buying. I suspect that is why they dropped the glassy. That and they have moved away from fragile devices.

1) Put your VapCap in your mouth ,empty but with the cap on .
2) Cover the carb with your finger.
3) Aim your Vapcap towards something not alive and soft ,like a couch for example.
4 ) Blow with all your power into the VapCap.

Question : How far did you send the cap ?
If it's below 3 meters ( ~ 10 feet ) you're still a rookie !

I bought the glassy (like I assume most people did) because I specifically wanted glass. Obviously, I could buy a wood or metal body, but this is the Ti Glassy. I already have a wood vapcap.

Plus, I didn't buy it years ago, just a few months back. I think it is perfectly reasonable to expect replacement parts to be available, especially just a few months after purchase from a company that is not only still in business, but very successful. Especially being that it is glass and everyone that purchased the Ti glassy likely will need a replacement at some point...

I would really contact the Dynavap team via eMail and simply ask. They are great people and if there is anything that can be done for you, then they will surely make it happen!

Guys, I’ve bought this torch and been trying to use it, but after sometime it won’t work, as seen in the video:

I’ve tried refilling it and still does this. It works for like 2 minutes with constant flame and then this problem starts and If I wait 15 to 30 minutes, it starts working again but, after some time, it will start having this problem again.
I don’t have a warranty or anything and bought it brand new, I’d really like to fix this. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

Thanks.

@alex91, this is best suited for the vapcap lighter thread or one of the other butane lighter threads, but from what I read:

"Most often, a lighter that is failing to provide a sustained flame may have air trapped in the reservoir, fuel supply line or both."

Here's the link - about 1/2 way down: http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Quick-Tip...hters-Working-Again-/10000000055683047/g.html

And, of course, you can google or youtube how to fix a torch lighter, how to fill a torch lighter, etc.

deep in the matrix...
I'm reading mustard fighting, pics of girls with bums showing, volcanoes and cats hissing at popping caps... :uhh:

I see everyone's VC is working just fine LOL. :science:

Another 2 cents to add, buy an XL model over a standard one IMHO. The added length of cooling is pure bliss, but by no means is the standard length substantially harsh just if you were wondering what's the difference.

As has been described torches need periodic burping (removing air) and HIGH QUALITY BUTANE. Never use the Ronson with the red cap, for example. That will work fine on a regular butane lighter but is poison for a torch lighter.

I sent you a PM with more detail...

Well, I am from team Barbecue sauce And I did my quarterly cleaning of my gen4 tipped Cocobolo Vong last night and I think quarterly may not be quite often enough. Pretty big diff in airflow suggests I was letting the condenser get a little too gunky, so gonna change that to monthly I think...

As @mmenzie said, that’s a classic sign of needing a purge. Check YouTube for how to perform the procedure. Simple and effective
