Fix for white particle buildup on glass pieces

Hey all,
I found this old archived thread discussing white particle buildup on water bongs when using a vaporizer. They never figured out how to fix it. I’ve discovered if you use steaming hot water instead of ice cold this problem pretty much goes away. (Seems the colder the water, the worse it got). It also makes better sense for vaporizing anyways since you want to add moisture to the dry vapor. Ok, hope this helps anybody who might be running into this.

Are you vaporizing flowers or concentrate?
This white and gooey material is plant wax. I got a lot of this stuff in my percolator bong when I vape some fresh squished rosin through my vapcap... it won't appear when I just vape flowers.
Wax and lipids will melt when it's hot and harden when it's getting colder - so your theory could work as long as you got some warm water in your piece. What happens when the water cools down? Does the wax get visible again?

Here's a hot tip, using distilled water only solves ALL your bong water problems.

This.

I use hot tap water and Isopropanol to clean, but I always use distilled water for the final rinse and percolator water.

If you're the type of person to collect reclaim, get all those goodies out before you do anything. I would consider most preparations (OxiClean, CLR) safe to clean with as long as you aren't huffing them and run some iso through the piece after rinsing them out. Distilled vinegar is probably the most human-safe tool for the job though. Shake it (don't break it), then let it soak for a bit.
