Hi guys, I am looking to buy my first Milaana, but as a first time buyer I have a couple questions. First off I bet it’s been answered before and I know a pretty decent amount about the differences, but I wanted to know what you guys have experienced is the difference between the milaana and my other portable vape, the mainstream king the mighty. Secondly for a first time buyer what assecories should I get will it? Spare stem, rimmed screens, spare batteries, etc? On that note what batteries have been the best, i know LG and Samsung are the gold standard but between those 2 which one should I go with, or is Sony really the best and I should go with them? Also which wood? I already have a maple flipbrick so I know how that wood is but how is cherry and walnut compared to that? Which ones feel nicer/softer, has less of a taste, etc? I was looking on 420EDC and they sell the Bare milaana or a standard pack with a bag, stir tool, battery and charger, etc. Do I need all the little things that come with that or should I get the Bare milaana for less and just get the better version of the accessories myself? Thanks guys really looking forward to all of yours advice and getting my first milaana, finally hoping I can have a portable that can get me to the same realm that the Flowerpot can!

You came to the right place. First, most of us don't like to make comparisons to other vapes. To each his own. I can tell you that Milaana delivers with the best of them, and has a signature high, as well as taste.

Don't get too complicated at first, minimize variables, as this vape takes some getting used to as it's unregulated. Be sure to get a few extra batteries.

Short or long stem, use one and stick with it. Stock screen, just as it's inserted when you get it, inside dome toward oven. Grind medium, tamp a bit, but don't crush. I like to push my screen as close to the tip as possible.

Learn to work the button and breath to get the best results. It's been compared to driving a car with a manual transmission, button is gas, breath is shift. Go back, read the thread for pointers, but have at it and come back with questions.

Once you master this bad boy, it's pretty sweet.

Cherry feels the best to me, walnut is crazy pretty. Maple is an incredible wood and inexpensive. If I hadda pick one, I like Cherry, but again, a personal preference, they all function amazingly.

Good Luck!

I must admit, after a couple of years of steady Milaana use, I am right back to stock screens, inverted right to the tip, micro dose, change often, barely stir. For me it's the perfect proportions of everything. I can sip nice and cool, make it last. Vapor is almost immediate this close, and stems stay much cleaner. Only real change is I love me some @Alan wooden stems, and have grown used to the feel of wood.

Ah you don't use basket style even? Interesting. Those are good that way when you can keep em clean, but they always stayed cleaner longer for me basket style. I just cleaned a bunch yesterday, got the right amount of hemp fiber in another short stem too, could probably have used even less than I did. I guess it will be strong to vape later on, definitely steals a bit of vapor goodness in the filter with the particles, but it will come back to me eventually...

Patiently waiting for the mailman. I used to have 4 Mi's (don't ask, VAS is a bitch). Sent two of them off to @Bravesst, one for him, one for me in a custom body of his choosing. Saving my first dose of the day for the unveiling and photos, which will up on this edited post forthwith.......

Meanwhile, just cracked my first beer of the day......a 32oz growler of Lagunitas "Born Yesterday". Dank ass hoppy goodness, the next closet thing to good weed!

I only used the short stem from day one. I just tried the long stem for the first time.
That was so...

Why did I never try the long stem before? Great experience... :)
Well, the short stem was great for learning how the Milaana creates the heat. So no hard feelings. But I am in love with the longer stem now, that's for sure.

Just wait until you try the "medium" stem.

Medium stem is just around 100mm iirc, long stem is just a hair longer - maybe 110mm?

Medium stem is what I was using at home for my Milaana and it's the one that fits in the Zion's onboard storage slot.

Wait... *drool*... There is a 'medium' stem? Where?

(BENT STEMS THO)
We've been kicking around doing some medium stems in colored glass, like we've done on the mini-stems recently completed. We just happened to find the "Medium" size by mistake when we were working on the TopHats and 420EDC Glassware. When I visited RBT and had the opportunity to try the Zion, the Zion stem was the same length as the longer 420EDC stem, so this is how I came up with the "medium" nomenclature as it was longer than the short but shorter than the long.

I have had customers who've broken Zion stems ask about replacements already, so it might be time to get some cut, polished and in the kiln to cool down. This should give the glass we are making at 420EDC a bit more of robust characteristic as well for those mishaps we dread watching and hearing occur.

Let me know your thoughts if you'd like to see some more medium options.

It's up to 30A MAX, not 35A, and it's not recommended to use it at MDR anyway. And it has a lower capacity than the VTC5, no free lunch.

It might have more oomph initially. Unsure if it would make that much of a difference. Personally I prefer when my Milaana doesn't run too hot as it's easier to control, so that's not something I would be interested in.

I have found more center char and faster flavor deg on the 25A as well. Could just be me but you have confirmed my suspicions.

I don't know for bent stems... especially if you like to turn your stem some degrees between hits. You guys remember when I tested that 90° angle Chinese stem? It was completely awkward because you always hold the stem the same way in your mouth, but the angle between the stem and the device body changes all the time, so the trigger location ends up turning all around the clock and it's awkward to have to hold the device in some particular ways really.
