Cannabis Hardware (formerly NewVape) FlowerPot Twax Vaporizer

Alright, here's an idea. Sorry its a new bowl idea but could be interesting. What if a bowl had the ability to rotisserie a load with a screen cage loaded with herbs. The handle is basically doubles as a rotisserie cage inside the FP. It would not accommodate a lot of herb but we wouldn't necessarily want that for this purpose. Something akin to swirling a carb cap for a dab. A way to quickly vaporize up all the goodies without it concentrating on one spot.
Just my opinion, but that's way too complex. KISS is my watch phrase.

This is before/after 4 rips at 550 with the SH (if the image appears?)
Still quite a few trics visible after. Its interesting that magnified the only difference you see is less trics, the colour change is not so prominent at this magnification.

I really appreciate this @DrRishi , I wonder what it would have looked like at 650 vs 550?

I broke it up after that for another wispy cloud

I do have my screen sitting above the lip, for small loads
Normally I use the fine grind plate in my gr8tr as I'm not looking for maximum flavour, just quick vapourisation of the goodies

Wifey tried to have me committed the other day. Again. Here's the dr's notes from my discharge:

Clinical observation: 3 months ago, Patient had no awareness of NewVape and their products yet now finds all daydreams revolve around possessing and using them. Whilst describing these fantasies, Patient uses words like"touch","hold", and the even more revealing "caressing". Patient is exhibiting an unhealthy obsession known commonly as NewVape Acquisition Syndrome (NVAS), unlike normal VAS, it does not subside upon getting the basic kit as there is an ever-growing range of NewVape innovations to personalise and customise your experience. These upgrades are often found to be worthwhile, a continuing source of aggravation to the non-vaping life partner. Have informed Patient the condition is inoperable, aggressive and will likely worsen until he just gets the damn thing one way or another.

Quick wonder about the abv generated using flower on the Shower Head? Don'tcha just chuck it? I can't imagine there could be much goodies left the way the SH extracts. Basing that purely on video watching and pics of abv. Just doesn't seem worth keeping, the herb looks utterly destroyed. Am I wrong? What do you NV faithful do with your duff?

Then yous guys are talking of hearing the pollen heads popping and herb singing while you're hitting it. :o GTFOH!! That's insanity! :D I need that experience in my life! Geez, you guys are good salespeople! I'm hoping 2018 is the year I learn the secret NV handshake and take advantage of the good info here. You guys really do help new users have confidence & greater success more quickly. Always there with your experience to help. Sure hope this thread can retain its wonderful vibe of gentle respect, fucking funny insights and for me, the best part: I love the scientific findings :science: here. So many people, so much smarter than me... * sigh *

Can you believe my wife wouldn't believe that this would be the last home vape I would ever want or need? She'd laugh in my face. The superior materials, precision machining, a unit that can change with you over time, drastically reducing the overall cost of ownership? None of that means anything to her. I won't lie, sometimes it hurts. Over 20 yrs and this is how she treats me?! I'll get there, 2018 is the year!

@pxl_jockey I do believe that AVB should be factored into one's flowerpot ROI.
This 2:1 recipe has made many of my friends a believer.

I ALWAYS keep and use my ABV in coconut oil.

Its THE best sleep remedy I've ever known. If you dont want to keep it, check if any of your friends do. I know I'd take ABV off a mates hands ( so long as those hands were clean, I'm gonna be eating this stuff after all).

I'm currently water curing my latest batch of pure NV ABV. I'll add it to the oil I've already made, continue to up its potency to instant sleep levels, but with none of that ABV taste and smell that I'm not so keen on :)

I see some people asking about a larger party bowl, but I'd like to suggest something in the opposite direction - a micro bowl.

You see, I have shitty lungs from 30 years of smoking cigs. :disgust: I have a hard time taking in large volumes of air so I prefer smaller hits. Unfortunately, the FP requires a decent-sized hit in order to really pump out the vapor. I was thinking that a simple change to the retaining nut that narrowed down to a diameter just big enough to go around my log vape (glass) stems would be ideal.

I've tried taking slow, small hits through the FP, but without that high-velocity airflow through the bowl, it just doesn't work very well. Don't get me wrong, I can "suck it up" on occasion to get those massive, satisfying rips, but I usually pay the price afterwards (coughing up a lung).

@NewVape710 do you think this is something that could be doable? Here is a pic of the glass log vape bowls that I use for reference:

Have you tried placing a small basket screen in the air channel below the screen and using that instead? It effectively makes for a much much smaller bowl. I know its potentially a bit of a 'stating the obvious' but thought I'd mention it just in case...

EDIT: Or if you can handle the draw restriction the cap provides (my lungs are fucked and draw restriction is one thing they dont like, mine have very clear limits in that regard), pre heating the showercap and bowl, and then drawing while permanently capped, means way less air flow needed to produce the goods.

/end potential patronising 'info' :)

you can try using those double weaved titanium screens... I think that adds a little air restriction and might be similar to a small tube loaded with herb rather than a large surface with the herb spread out. also creates a denser hot surface from below and lets heat expand in the bowl slower. pre soaking the bowl with heat might help as well. You can also try doubling your screens for more air restriction...

I don't know how you pack your herb, and how much though... and with the screen you're using, hot air might just be passing by your herbs, and giving you a less dense vape... hard to really say.

Dabbing some super lemon haze sauce @ 626... What temps do you SH users like for terp town?

Right around where you're at is best results really, 610-640 are the "utility temps" for the SH imo - I can do flower or concentrates, OR doubledeckers nicely in that range.

Sometimes I go too big on the dab and feel like the vapor production really trails off after the first 2 or 3 hits and then I'm left with a big puddle that I feel bad mopping up... but I don't wanna hit it forever just for some bullshit whispy vapor - that's when I stay towards the upper end of that range.

If you're not being dumb and going in big, I've gone as low as 610 with nice results on oil. Nothing lower than that. I've also been getting the same results with flower at 620 as I used to at 640 so idk what's what but there's my useless wall of text :)

edit:

also that sauce looks fucking delicious

Would anyone with more experience than me be able to chime in on what differences a cold carb cap might make to the dab as opposed to a hot carb cap? Logically it sounds like it would make a difference, but I dont know about all this venturi effect etc.

If the SC takes longer to heat up than the Ti cap, and the cap being cold or equal temp to the dish makes a difference, then it would make sense that the Ti cap would be more consistent from cold as I'm assuming it heats up way, way quicker.

Or am I talking out my arse?

I go a bit lower on the SiC too. I did upper 600s once and it was an awful, awful mistake. Way way way too hot.

Preheating the carb cap makes a more convective environment inside the nail/cap I think? Preheating bubble caps on thermal bangers was a thing (but I can't find much on it now via a brief shitty search) and you wouldn't see the vapor til it hit the stem since the temp in the banger/nail is the same? The Ti cap def heats up faster but it's also less material than the SS cap?

Yeah, that last bit is why I was wondering too. The SC is so weighty (which i personally love atm) and I've found it makes such a difference to flower bowls when its preheated, I would assume a cold SC would affect dabs as well, but I have limited experience with that, and assumptions are bad, yo! :)

I cant really probe test for it either, sadly.

The new cap gets hot to touch in like 30seconds. I had to accidentally forget about the oldstyle SC for like a minute+ for it to get hot to touch.

I sometimes preheat the cap but I've never noticed a big enough difference to go ahead and keep doing it but I also don't keep usage notes because I'm a lazy bastard,

Ok, so that would also explain why I get confused with me having acceptable dab results at lower temps.

Hmm, looks like I'm going to have to order the Ti Combocap :) With the SC on permanently, and vaping dabs thru the hole in the carbcap, im only doing small amounts compared to some of you I guess.

lol yo this thing is a straight banger. i'm a flavor guy so i like long rips at 675 with nugs. if i want lung busting clouds then i grind the herb and go for 755. then for my micro dry herb i grind at 800 with a quick hit. but i prefer nugs so far than grinding.

Thank you for this Edwyn, very speedy as well. You're really have something special going on here. The video was cool and answered some small questions on the how-to. I'm always amazed when you take the time to reply to a post, answer a question, or link a video for a member. It's so cool I think.

@emmdeemo I picked up some coconut oil so will be trying this next time I got a jar full of abv.

Its easy to fuck it up and have coconut oil that doesnt do anything (if its a noticeable effect youre after), but its also really easy to get it right if ya just follow the instructions and be left with coconut oil that will blow your head off :)

I don't think adding any more restriction would solve my particular issue. The problem as I see it is that the current bowl is quite wide in diameter, which means to get the heat/airflow equation just right, you need to inhale much more air than you would with a smaller diameter bowl. The smaller diameter bowl would mean you could increase the speed of the airflow through the herb with less effort. Fluid dynamics and all that. :science:

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't yet tried a smaller basket in lieu of the regular screen. I'm guessing temps would need to be bumped a bit to make up for the slightly farther distance from the heat. I'll give this a shot and report back.

Possibly, possibly not as the heat is directed completely thru the load, my thinking being that the smaller bowl means theres less 'non flower' covered parts for the air to travel thru without hitting flower particles and producing vapour. It was a while back that I was trying this tho so I kinda forget :) I abandoned it a few months back as I prefer the bigger bowl.

If you have any small evo cap bowl screens, they fit perfectly. I get confused with all the other EQ, EVO, ELB bowls to know which is which, but I have those small/shallow evo screens, they def fit. Showercapping flower with a heated up showercap helps with this also.#

(apologies to all the regulars for seemingly bringing this up every day, not trying to sell it, just trying to spread awareness just in case it helps ppl)

Make sure you get some sunflower lecithin and use that, just add 2 big teaspoons or so, it facilitates a better extraction and is well worth it.
Just do it on a controlled low heat and I always stir every 20 mins at least to stop the herb/abv burning. If I leave it for 30 mins plus, it gets too got. But we got an old electric cooker, if you have gas you could maybe get it more stable by going lower heat than our rings allow.

Cooking the ABV is so easy. You don't need to decarb it in the oven, and it is easier to strain afterwards because it is dried and shrunken. Good luck!
And thanks for sharing your experiences in life with us so openly, good and bad, I feel for you man and wishing you the best all round. Your posts are always relevant and refreshing and fun to read, thanks also for that.

I hope you can land yourself a Flowerpot sometime soon. Im sure your heart is set on it so Im sure it will be an eventuality ("eventually" LOL- I never thought about the deeper meaning of that word- because eventually could still be a VERY long time away still!)

Hopefully sooner than later though, and something to look forward to and daydream about- you don't want that period to pass too rapidly do you?!

Oh yes, I completely agree with your feelings about how Edwyn is constently doing such an outstanding service to this thread and responding AT ALL let alone to this degree while driving the Flowerpot along so quickly, on top of life as well.

Too stoned to express shit right now, but credit where is due, I think @NewVape710 runs an impressive show!

Yeah, the Evo ELB cap fits good.

In other news, I've been messing around with using my Vapocane glass bowl. I had to crank up the temps about 100°F to compensate for the lower load, but it works amazingly well. The flavor seems better to me this way and as a bonus I can lift out the bowl to clear the hit.

I also thought aboutna micro dose bowl... maybe it would be possible to make a ti ring or glass ring which fits in the normal bowl so the diameter (size) of the bowl gets smaller and if you want a bigger bowl just take out the the ring...
