Today, my new Sony VTC5 batteries arrived. "Only" had some LGDBHG2 and Samsung 30Q before.
Charged them fully, put one of them in my Milaana and must admit that there is indeed a difference when it comes to batteries.
18650 does not equal 18650. Will do some intensive (yeah, stoned again!) testing tonight... But I think already now that I have found my most favorite battery model for the Milaana.

What's the adapter people are using to run the Milaana through Water?

I found one on PlanetVape.ca but it's a vortex adapter.

Will any generic US 18mm m2m work?

Check this out. I have already purchased this from same seller.

BTW the Planetvape vortex adapter for the Extreme Q fits the Tubo well and could fit the Milaana with a couple of feet of teflon tape.

http://www.planetvape.ca/extreme-q-glass-vortex-adapter.html is $5 cheaper than the PVFS vortex.

Is
Sony VTC6 18650 3000mAh 15A Battery or the vtc5 better. Got the milaana coming today

I use lg HG2 batteries. These are rated as having higher capacity than the Sony. I don't think 15 A is enough.

@bravest is it possible you have VTC5A batteries? Those have higher A than the Lg HG2, but less rated capacity.

Yes, any US 18mm M2M (that is 19/22mm) should work just fine. US rather than ISO which is 4mm too long. Several of the ones I have gotten from DHGate were US jointed, but I have also has some custom made by @Oregonglassblower.

Ah these are even shorter than the standard short stems? Are they regular RBT stems that for RBT screens as well? Nice!

These are best with the newer rimmed screens. The OG screens that are being phased out might not fit (too wide on the black and amber, too narrow on the cobalt and emerald).

For anyone having an issue with a joint being too wide for the rimmed screen, if you crease the screen in half (say 12 & 6 o'clock) and then crease again (at 3 & 9 o'clock), the rimmed screens can flex so that they stay taut against the glass. The flex provided by the rimmed screen is more of a workable scenario compared to the OG screens.

Ironically the short stems have arrived. In my latest work, the GONG is quite buried. I'm not sure how long I'll leave the "stack", but maybe full length, maybe a hair less. The short stack may not make the top. I like Alan's 3 inch maple for this. In the pic is a standard short length (another of @Alan 's).

All four edges are rounded to 3/4 of an inch. At this point it's approaching oval (hard to get a sense of that in a 2-D photo). The stack is round. I love this design - no stealth lost, and it feels amazing in my hand.

Wow, the short ones are really border-line too hot for me already, I wouldn't be able to withstand anything more. I'm struggling with Alan stem already and it's a tad shorter than the stock one.

I'm loving Alan's 3 inch stem - a tad cooler without having to try to be cooler. I honestly don't use anything else but Alan's wood stems, mostly stock short size, but the one 3 inch I have, I use a lot. Glass isn't as consistent a fit for me, wood gets nice and snug, but still releases easily.

Wood good.

Wow the grain on that one is beautiful, another cherry? I also dig the rounding

I am finally trying a thin hemp filter in a short stem with my purpleheart and it definitely helps. Vapor could still be hot if going upper temps, but no particulates get through so no throat irritation from that. Could restrict airflow too, if you like that, of not then need to make it a thinner gauze, barely need any help fiber to work (hint get the stem sticky first though so it stays put)

So @shitsnacks , you just shove a ball of hemp in there and it cools?

So no definitely not a ball, you want it thinned out, kinda stretch it in there and don't use very much at all, unless you really want to restrict airflow and vapor flow a lot. It works as a filter to smooth vapor, the fiber will also build up oils and you can eventually vape it as well

Hemp fiber has me thinking. What if... you moistened it, just damp, and froze it into a ball that fits in the stem. With some trial and error, could you cool even further? I know it will melt almost immediately, but even then, it's still wet. Hmm.

Update: Never got past dry testing and I combusted. I need the feedback I guess. Back to filterless...

I was cleaning my Milaana and dropped the copper plate. It’s no problem, right? I’ve been reading some stories about dropping the Milaana and wanna make sure dropping the copper plate is no problem.

Almost there...
@Bravesst

During your Milaana transplant journey, have you ever looked into adding a rheostat to add regulated power to the Milaana? Just a thought that may improve an already awesome vape!
Almost a mini Zion?
