Discontinued The Oracle Infrared Vaporizer

Hey Everyone,

Its been a while since our last update but I'm glad to say everything is moving along. Heres a picture of our prototype circuit in all of its glory.

Just as a side note, this circuit belongs to the digital version of the Oracle which we have decided will go into production later in the year. In the mean time we will introduce an analog version which has all the same functionality of our digital, minus the numeric display. This will allow us to reduce costs and offer the Oracle's ultra-fast warm up and thick vapor production at a lower price.

As well a big thanks to everyone who been keeping up to date on the unit's progress, were confident you'll love what were bringing to the table :brow:

Cheers!

A choice between analog and digital is always nice. Thanks for the option.

As a reminder, from page one of this thread - Mod note: Please do not make any posts here related to beta testing.

@oracle - are you going to surface mount components, instead of thru-hole, for the production boards?

@Hippie, that will most certainly be the case. Most of the components such as resistors, capacitors will be surface mounted but we have some female power connectors on the back of the circuit which will be left through-hole for the added strength.

In the main diagram if you notice the small ball which is nestled at the bottom of the bowl. That ball has two purposes which go hand in hand with the pump. When it is on, the ball rises and starts to oscillate with the pump pressure making your herb jump like popcorn. This ensures that when the emitter is running, the herb is getting tossed around and having the largest exposed surface area.
Nice implementation of automatic stirring! I wonder if something like that would work without a fan with just lung power?

Looks like everything is going well :). Best of luck finishing this bad boy up, I cannot wait to see it's final version :).

@andrewburgess - As a matter of fact it would work quite nicely! Although for this unit we require a steady stream of air from the pump in order to vibrate the ball at its optimum stirring frequency. This ensures theres no uneven heating and we expose as much of the herb's surface area to the infrared.

@collegerower - In terms of news we made a few small modifications to the internal structure including an airflow safety mechanism. It is meant to divert all of the pump's airflow safely out of the air path should you forget to turn your unit off in time (this ensures the bag won't explode). At this point were waiting patiently for our newest case to arrive from the laser cutters :brow:

More to come!

I've heard from a few people that light can degrade THC. Do you know if there's any truth to this?

When you say analog version, what exact type of thermostat/heat control do you use? Rheostat, bi metal....?

@talley - I read something along those lines which has to do with the curing and storage of your herb, although I have not read anything about damage caused in the infrared spectrum. After testing several other models alongside our unit we found no degradation in the vapor production.

@stinkmeaner - We use a rheostat control coupled with a thin film platinum detector (RTD). We have done several tests comparing the in-bowl temperature to the unit's sensor, which have yielded an exceptional accuracy of +/-3C.

This is starting to look like an awesome vaporizer. I like the idea of a really quick heat up time and +/-3C accuracy. Good luck

What happened to this idea? still in the works?

Hey George,

It certainly is, we are glad to announce that the design is complete and will soon be revealed once the website has re-launched (by the end of the month).

The time has come. :ninja:

Cool Oracle it is always nice to see some new products come out, it has been pretty stagnant in the vape market for a while now, this board has even been slower I noticed. Thanks for the mention IAmKrazy2.

We decided to keep announcements to a minimum until we were completely satisfied with the finished product and able to launch a pre-order.

In the mean time, we also recruited an extremely talented marketing director who will have a significant online presence once the Oracle is released :D

Not me. I had faith in this vape. We were seeing real evidence of hardware here.
