@WoodVillain here's how I got round vaping outdoors, canoeing.
1a5WXUo.jpg

I made two other different torch wind shields the one in the boat got too hot as it was SS, the next one's out of aluminium tube were much better. The right hand side one has sticky paper labels on it so I could monitor the heat for a possible silicone sleeve.

And in other news this Kingwood twist turned out really well

@phattpiggie, that kingwood stem is absolutely gorgeous.

You really should keep that one for yourself.

You said, "The right hand side one has sticky paper labels on it so I could monitor the heat for a possible silicone sleeve."

How does the sticky paper act as a indicator of heat?

@metaknight, also, be sure to check out the Best of Dynacap Thread for heating tips. It's a good thing!

@Summer it's spoken for and I'm more than happy to part with it.
I'd have a big collection if I kept every stem that dropped my jaw.

I figured if the paper label could cope with the heat then silicone should.
Any signs of charring or discoloration would give me a rough idea of the kind of heat transfer thru the thin walled tube.

It has changed colour but not enough to worry about.

@WoodVillain, great pics!

@phattpiggie, but if you keep only the truly unique, jaw-dropping ones, then you'd have the best-of, original artist collection -- that artist being you. Ya never know what your collection might be worth down the line, as one day, mj is gonna be legal in all 50 states; I bet you in the next 10 years. And future vapcappers are gonna want wood & acrylic stems, & those with means will pay for a handcrafted work of art. And you gotta be ready to cash in. Remember, the early bird catches the worm. ;) :2c:

This is a link to a reddit member's pics showing an anodized M:

You may very well find others if you google, "anodized dynavap vapcap M." Didn't look farther than above.

Probably too early for the sbM to be anodized. Frankly, I can't see it 'cause you take a chance at ruining the finish, thus loosing the current aesthetics. I wouldn't chance it.

Am I happy with the SB M and the Omni? Yes, but VAS just got and I’ve bought a beautiful Ti Woody-XLS: Blackwood Stem, Double Crown. Can’t wait.
Do you guys think I should’ve gone with the Omnivong? IMO I find it kind of ugly so I went my with Woody. What do you think?
I think you made the right choice. The S's dont get enough love around here. After heating with a spinning mouthpiece my vapcap acquisition syndrome is gone. Heating the cap with a torch lighter is so much more effortless when you dont have to twirl or manually spin and I feel like the spinning action means you can hold it more steady which promotes more even roasting.

ok honestly cant look through all the 26 pages i've missed right now.. my goodness this thread is a mover. but i wanted to check in, as i have good news.

i travelled down to see some friends this past week & immediately got them hooked on the M. they went from smoking several joints a day to once at night in the time we were together. the day i left they both got paid & were planning on putting in their own order for an M. before i left i got them hooked up with good butane and a torch which i thought was well suited. vapcaps are really perfect for converting joint smokers. my friend really loves the twirling/spinning of rolling joints so the M was a perfect match!

we went to their favourite local dispensary too & i mentioned how excellent what we were looking at would taste at home in the vape. the budtender heard & was like ?????? you vape? arent vapes 300 (US) dollars???? & i got to share the good word of the M with her as well :D i pulled it out there and explained how it worked & gave her the information on where to get one. another one (hopefully) into the fold!

feels good to get good people away from combusting. thank you dynavap!

I'm waiting since the 28th of august. My order arrived in Frankfurt/ Germany 5 days later on the 1st of September and now it's somehow stucked in the german bureaucracy.
I talked to customs, the local post agency, DHL and Dynavap but nobody knows what happend to my Omnivong Blackwood :(

The last event on 17track.net is:
2017-09-20 18:00 Hamburg, The shipment has been processed in the parcel center of origin

Happy waiting and hoping

I got an message from George today. He wanted to know my tracking number to investigate what happend to my order. I read his message here on FC and guess what happend 5 min before I could answer him. The doorbell rang and the postman delivered my first green bubblebag :)

Well done George - like always

This is new to me. You mean the Omni doesn’t have the spinning mouthpiece? I thought the adjustable airflow = spinning mouthpiece. I guess I’m wrong.

So, this one I bought has a spinning mouthpiece and I don’t need to move the unit while I heat it with a torch?

No, because the mouthpiece of the Omni is used to adjust the airflow, it isn't free spinning like with the S models. It is stiffer, and you wouldn't want it turning just when you're heating anyway, as you'd change the airflow setting.

Speaking of the Omni, I had been using it nearly closed (so the mouthpiece was nearly as clockwise turned as it will go), and was getting pretty good results. I then decided to try it more open, and found that it produced significantly more vapor. This surprised me, as I thought the more closed, the bigger but harsher the hits should be. Do you think it is because if it's too close to closed, there isn't as much airflow through the tip, so extraction isn't as fast? Or am I misunderstanding something about the Omni? I'm happy with where it is at the moment, very happy, but want to make sure I understand what is going on as well as possible.

On one hand I was supposed to receive my sbM today, but usps failed me. :goon:

On the other hand my Portside was just shipped to me

Glad i got 2 hands!

Wondering if @WoodVillain you got your items in the mail, did your ship come to port?

Sometimes with pico snailmail my shit seems to go to China or Tunisia first, or stay for days in their Chicago warehouse. :bang:

Presently waiting for a @Pipes mag IH....:hmm: to fire up my :spliff:

(So much for a battery free world, hey)

You close it counterclockwise (counterintuitive) as this pushes the tip of the condenser away from the mp and into the tip, thus decreasing the fresh air intake from the carb.
