Gear Bubbleman Trinity Tank

After an underwhelming first impression, wanted to report that this was mostly due to user error. Using decarbed oil this time plus 15% cannabis-derived terpenes, the tank is performing as expected. With the matching battery, the first hit produces a little vapor, while a second one taken immediately after produces much more. The flavor is great, a little too intense at first, but wanted to be sure mix was fluid enough, so used maximum terpenes recommended. Also, fresh mixed.

Felt little effect from three or four double hits, so popped it on a box mod.

A match made in heaven - beauty rings, schmooty rings! (This 26650 mod is stupid big - it dwarfs even 30mm attys. Gotta have that stab wood.)

Using the recommended maximum 14W produced better results after a few more draws. Gurgling accompanies the best hits. It still seems to need to warm up to get flowing.

Overall, more of a savory appetizer than the main course. Could be tolerance. Also, this is second run QWET oil. Imagine the Trinity might shine with distillate. It's still a tight draw, but much better with this mix than the last. (That used dry crumble with about half as much terpenes.)

The tank is designed for oils mixed with 10-15% terpene content. You probably do need to mix with terpenes to get the oil fluid enough to work properly.

I still need to experiment more but this tank likes it thick. I was having serious user error with runny co2 oil and even worse with a mct/terpene oil both from prefilled carts bought at California medical dispensaries. They were way too thin. The heater does not absorb/wick the material well so consecutive hits would cause hot oil to come through the mouthpiece. It kinda numbs the roof of your mouth right after a quick sting like burn...not a good experience. It also makes for weak hits. The only good hit was the first hit off a cold cart. This oil also leaked through the bottom of the cart.

I decided to make a thick mix after the last experience. I used about 3/4 or a little more but less than a whole gram of caligreengold sour diesel wax and about .125-.25ml of the mct/terp mix and got a thick wax that looked wet like soft serve almost but would not move at room temp. I loaded some without heating but found you can heat the material a little to load it. I have a rosin setup so I just set the plates too 145f and set a glass jar with the mix on the plates. Its only been a day but I feel like I was using this thing so wrong. Its so right now and on par with other good results I have read about on here. Too soon to know if it is leaking or not but it hits so much harder and I can do a back to back hit or 3 now with no worries and plenty of effect!

I almost think some wet sappy rosin would work just fine with no terps added in this cart. The whole bottom portion of the tank gets warm which helps the material move through the 4 tiny ass holes that feed the heater and it also causes thick unsettled material to settle. I will give it a go with straight Rosin eventually.

Used similar consistency first time in above thread, described here as "user error". Did you get vapor? The first session produced strong effects, but very little vapor and used up most of the tank (not counting what's in the wick). This time, produced better vapor, but stopped hitting solid again - after draining the tank. Maybe the terps evaporate if it sits a day or two? Also - what's your MCT/terp mix?

The heater does not absorb/wick the material well so consecutive hits would cause hot oil to come through the mouthpiece.

That's probably the gurgling reported above. Only heard at maximum power on second hit.

At least, It's easy to reclaim from. In above thread, found nothing to cause concern with a quick, warm ethanol wash.

It's too bad the wick can't be salvaged. A user-serviceable version, like most other W9TECH products, would broaden the Trinity's appeal, IMO.

Would also like to see the wicks offered separately for DIY use, like the first-generation porous, black donuts. Used one as a wick in an inception coil. Never got around to trying that again... :hmm:

Please report how it works with sappy low temp rosin!

Not to be a buzzkill @invertedisdead but I gotta get a new cart. Mine started leaking out where the glass meets the metal base. I never really got it to stop leaking. It performed ok with the much thicker solution but I think too many back to back hits (6 in a row) it blew the bottom seal. I am going to have to buy another and do some more testing however I am hesitant. Using the Trinity Tank has me reconsidering the Hercules. I have never tried one but I thought it has a similar heater in that its one of these pourous black donut wicks with a ceramic rod heater in the middle...basically what @Accept wants to DIY in his last post. I am still very leary about the idea of cool down hits. It seems too ackward for me to get the hang of it. I really don't like adding anything to my concentrates though so maybe a compromise is neccessary.

I am going to try and do some research and soul searching on my next plan but money is tight for the rest of the year so I gotta think and buy smart right now.

@Accept That MCT mix I mentioned is a prefilled cart made with Organic Cannabis Oil, MCT, and terpenes. This is the exact cart and flavor I have. https://cdn.allbud.com/image/upload...1497966518/jsuploads/kg1btvpbnnrm2pwnj9w4.jpg

I have been mixing it with Sour Diesel wax from CaliGreengold. I always got vapor but not always the best.

Today I am on my way to NYC for a weekend getaway. In my personal carry (Blackwood Smell proof case) I have my Evic Mini Two, one of the carts from the link above and one of these carts filled with what was salvaged from the Trinity tank. https://www.cbdreviews.net/max-vapor-nail-glass-cartridge-with-ceramic-core-preheater-coil/
It is too soon to say how it performs but it does handle the thick mixture. This mixture is pretty much straight wax. The airflow is very restricted compared to the great wide open airflow of the Trinity Tank.

I also have my Source Orb 4 and XL Nail kit with both the regular quartz nail and the XXL quartz nail in my travel bag to experiment with. I have plenty to experiment with this weekend. I will let you guys know if I buy another Trinity Tank or not.

Link's not working.

Have a Hercules. Definitely works better than than the Trinity Tank, IME. The heating element is a ceramic rod, and the wick is a titanium mesh donut. The titanium mesh seems most like the stainless steel concentrate pads sold for flower vapes. It's safe to say that it's not user-friendly. Only used it a few times. Also, requires a gram of concentrate. The cool-down hits are the easiest part.

Loading a gram and having it ready to go and not having to reload all sounds like positives for my use. Wasting a gram would not be so good. I thought the donut was more than just a titanium mesh tho?

Heres a link to the extractors website for the flavor I have...they have testing from SC labs on the site.

Heres another link showing the cart label.

If you want something specifically for distiallate and CO2 oil then it does not get any better than the vape710.ca v2.1 ceramic carts. They will eat up and YUMM that space ape. And the airflow is 100 times better than any comparable cart out there.

Also if you buy 2 packs the shipping is free.

Can you run these in TC? If so, what are your settings? I think I recall you or someone else mentioning these in another thread recently and it sparked interest then and was one of the things I wanted to research this weekend when I have time.

Any links btw?

Thanks for the links. Pretty sure it's titanium mesh. Looks just like one of those concentrate pads, except it's a donut rather than a disc.

You might be like the Hercules. It seems to be a very high quality device. The only other con that comes to mind is the large number of tiny parts to assemble/disassemble (and lose).

Sorry I never tried it in TC mode I use it on my Lynx battery for stealth. But I run it with distillate so I take tiny hits anyway. No reason to ride it out in TC mode or I'll be blasted. These things HIT HARD, it's no joke how good the airflow is.

Here's the link, but they are constantly out of stock and re-stocked.

@nosmoking did W9 send you a new tank or no? Seems like their service department could have easily taken that opportunity to make things right if yours was leaking. They claim even with e-juice their's don't leak, so something must be defective with the one you received. If they don't want to back up their product that makes me skeptical to try it, but I'm really looking for something that can handle rosin. I would just hate to get stuck with $200 worth of rosin and terpenes stuck in a cart that doesn't work... that would be super frustrating.

I broke it down to user error so I never asked W9 to replace the cart. I guess I could ask. @THC SCIENTIFIC What do you think? I have posted my issues in this thread and the other thread where you even got involved with a little q&a. Will you provide a replacement cart or not in my circumstance? Just want to know if it is worth going through the process or not.

Send me a pm lets see what we can do to get you a new tank.

I didn't know the trinity had it's own thread, I was posting in the persei and omicron threads. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and liking it a lot. I've been doing solvent free hash oil with about 2 drops of the blue river terps in it. Getting some stuff this weekend to refill it with.

So just rosin with a few drops of terps and it works? It doesn't need to be dewaxed?

It's got a porous ceramic wick, there's no way it doesn't get gunked up with rosin going through it. I wonder how long they last with non dewaxed product.

We designed the tanks to be fully or almost close to factory fresh with 24 hour iso soak in 99% as much as possible.

This means if properly taken care of the tank should last you 5-10 refills and still taste as good on the last day as it did on the first day.

Our Ti SiC combo is designed specifically for any and all types of clean oils, once again if you put dirty oil in there with plant matter it will gunk up. So rule of thumb is what goes in is what comes out. Cleaner the better.

Rosin is typically considered a dirty oil with the residual plant fats, waxes, proteins, and lipids in the end product. A side effect of not using polarity based hydrocarbon solvents.

What kind of rosin do you use in yours? Flower rosin? Only hash rosin?

Is this the same as the Kiss Alpha Centauri V3 second generation porous black ceramic wick? Guessing no, but haven't been able to remove intact wick from Trinity Tank. Any chance UP Tech will sell either for DIY frolics? :science:
