And should I be bringing sanitary wipes to prevent catching anything that potentially hundreds of unwashed masses will be putting their lips on?
YES bring sanitary wipes, leave everything else at home unless you won't be crossing any borders

We have vapor lounges inside dispensaries here in Colorado. All set to disappear on July 1st when a bill the governor signed goes into effect which makes it illegal to consume on dispensary property.

Here, they are basically a room with various vapes set up. I carry a VG and occasionally use it in a lounge or two.

Bring Pipe Wipes.
That sucks. Why would Colorado allow medical marijuana and dispensaries, but not want the patients consuming medicine at the dispensary? What advantage does that bring by making using at the source illegal? I can't really wrap my mind around why they would pass that bill - for what gain?

@Willeh - if you don't recommend crossing borders with anything, what good will a vapor lounge in Canada be for me??
You cant walk into a liquor store, buy a bottle of Jack Daniels, and start drinking it in the store. Why should mmj patients/users get exceptions?

Not all analogies are perfect representations - this one, like most, is inaccurate.

If you are comparing MMJ to medicine, then you CAN walk into a CVS/RiteAid/Walgreens pharmacy, fill your prescription and use the medicine in the store.

If you are comparing MMJ to recreational drugs, a liquor license is all that is required to sell alcohol on your premises, be you a liquor store, bar, or restaurant. There is no separate legal stipulation (that I am aware of) that separates bars and restaurants from allowing patrons to imbibe alcohol on the premises but prevents customers at liquor stores from opening a bottle of Jack after paying for it. I think the only reason you don't see it is because it isn't socially acceptable to start drinking while standing at the front of a store after your purchase. Further, many liquor stores have sampling/tasting events in the front of their store to increase sales of their products.

If you are comparing MMJ to other smoking drugs, there exist many cigar bars where you can order a cigar and smoke it on the premises in a relaxed setting.

If you are more worldly (not that you aren't), you would note that in some other countries there are "hash bars" where you can order marijuana and smoke it on the premises.

I would think that from the State's perspective, if they are allowing prescription MMJ, then the things they would fear would be re-distribution, especially to minors or those without a prescription. Therefore smoking at the dispensary would prevent redistribution to some extent. Further, currently marijuana is listed on the Schedule I drugs because it 'poses high potential for misuse'. While this is a ridiculous term, using it in a professional setting such as a dispensary would likely limit the potential for 'misuse', just as a bartender is supposed to watch your liquor intake and cut you off once you have passed an acceptable social limit.

Lets get this back on topic: Toronto Hemp Expo next week... who's going?

My thing is while I am 100% for the use of mmj, for patients who truly need it. I think a good portion of the MMJ community is a good example of "give them an inch and they want a mille". Mostly those who are just abusing the system, and dont even need it as "medicine". I mean shit, if you wanna get stoned..and want legalization just say so. Dont hide behind some faux ailment, and make those who truly do benefit from cannabis look bad.

It's really the law makers fault though not the people abusing the system. What pot smoker is going to turn down the option to smoke and grow legally for $125 or 150 bucks. Not I, not I. Obviously people do want legalization and they are saying so but it's a slow process and in the mean time people are going to do what they have to. Making a law saying you can't consume on the premises doesn't get to the root of the problem you are talking about at all.

You're correct, I was making a broader statement about mmj with that last one.

Im gonna make a nother thread to discuss.....I think we've already derailed the orignal topic to much. Im working on something right now, but will get to it in a lil bit.

There are a couple vapor lounges here in Toronto, one on Young street next to and above Toronto Hemp Company and the other I can't remember the exact location but it is off Spadina (HotBox Cafe)
Both places let you rent a vaporizer but you have to bring your own meds. There are signs posted.. "No SHaring, Mooching, Begging etc"

This weekend we will have a nice vaporlounge at the TY Expo, hope to see some of you there. (If you sent an email with your name for some tickets, you are good to go, I believe I replied with my cell number so we can connect and get you your tickets.
