Hex-Nail (HN-01) - RIP

Thanks for all the replies so far, will read through them after I'm a little more productive at work today

Wanted to post this for anyone looking to display their Hex... This tablet stand fits the box perfectly. I had some lying around, but they go for around 10$ on Amazon.

On another note, has anyone used the AugustHaus custom coil for the V3 30mm Liger?
https://www.theaugusthaus.com/product-page/custom-coil-for-the-cca710-flat-liger

I recall another FC member noting that their D-Nail controller worked with the custom coil.
The pin-outs are standard, but the power requirements are higher than other coils.
I've asked @HexNailAva, as I don't want to damage my beloved HN-01.

very interested in the answer to this as well... seems like it would be the ULTIMATE liger setup.

[This is an update from the both of us as well as some personal notes from Ava, specifically.]

Okay. Things are nuts here right now (as I'm sure most of you can assume). Round 1 Red Queen units are SOLD OUT, folks.

That being said, we are pushing hard right now (but we tried to think ahead). We have all the enclosures milled already, we had a pretty good idea of what to anticipate color selection wise so most (if not all) of the tops have been milled and finished already as well.

I've been working on assembly for these (and any 1.2s we're trying to wrap up) pretty much 25/8. All the parts for all the units we are working on have been ordered (this includes some custom request orders we've received in this time frame).

--

This is all good news, but with it comes a price... It's getting really taxing to try to keep everyone up to date (here, social networks, etc.)

It's hindering my personal ability to help some of our current customers (big and small. I'm trying to get back to what I do best right now and that's provide great service to our loyal (and patient) customers.

I've let my service slip into chaos a bit with everything that's been going on (move, insurance, severe anxiety, etc.) but as things fall into place a bit I simply can't have that anymore. It's costing me my sanity and a lot of my time to just keep it all together.

So.

Much like I did with the final push for Skynet...I need to take a step back from social outlets and re-focus on production & customer service.

OS/2 is going to squash our software / update delays and issues (as well as add the sickest features you've seen yet). We're really excited to get it out to the people and show it off more in the weeks to come.

But this time will be a bit different.

I'll be trying to keep our Instagram stream fresh [@HexNail] (starting next week) so everyone can see progress being made (or at least see what we're up to). Content out...I just can't take any more input from all directions.

And more importantly...

If you are a current customer and you're having any issues with your unit, order, or feel like you're not getting great service from me in any way I'd like you to message me with your Order # or Device ID # (and any issues you've had) so I can give you my personal phone number and actually provide the level of service you deserve. It's time to tie up any loose ends I've left out there.

I just haven't been meeting my own (and a few customers) standards lately... but that ends now.

Thank you all for understanding and I'll be back at it in a few weeks if all goes well.

Hi, is it normal for the coil temperature to be much higher then the nail temperature. I have a 30mm liger sic banger and it shows a lot of times coil temperatures in the 900+/Nail temperature 600 with the (middle number) temperature being around 600. Wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with the sensors. Thanks!

That seems like a large temperature difference to me.
I also have a 30mm Liger w/ SiC: Coil temp @ 700*; nail temp @486*
30mm Liger w/ Sapphire: Coil temp @ 700*; nail temp 500*.

Is your coil tight?
What software version are you running?
How is the dab experience?

@Alvinhwang63 Yeah that almost sounds like your coil is possibly a little loose to the body of the liger and so you are seeing the higher than expected temps on the nail. Try turning it off and once cooled down. Check and adjust the coil until it is snug. Once it is snug against the liger, fire it back up and see if that fixed it or not. I agree with @alittledabwilldoya' that it sounds like you got a loose coil and it should be easy to fix =)

One thing to note we found from testing is that the 30 is actually exponentially harder to power than the rest of the Ligers because it’s a BEAST.

I need to find our testing graphs and look at the numbers again.

Diminishing returns is definitey in effect. Takes a lot more power to bump the 30 up once it soaks up ‘all it can’ temp. wise.

*jumps back into cone of silence* Heh.

Thanks for everyone's help! Sorry but how exactly do I tighten the coil, I tried to tighten the bottom piece of the liger to make it closer to the nail. Appreciate it, here is a sample of the Temps and I have version 1.2.10

You should remove everything, make totally sure that the entire coiled portion of your coil is flat and not spiraled up or down. then make sure to position it as centered as possible and tighten the bottom plate of the liger so its squashing the coil flat up against the bottom with no spaces if possible. Just like a cooking pan on a stove, you want as much contact with he heater as possible.

@Alvinhwang63 I think you have the unit set to track the temp of the nail surface itself?, I have found that the unit tracks much better and stays a a more stable temp when unit is set to “controller tracking COIL” this is due to the air hitting the surface of the insert and cooling it a bit then the unit tracks that and your coil will fluctuate more. Try the setting the main menu under “controller tracking” to the COIL position and not the nail and find your desired temp that way I think that’s the confusion.

I don’t think it’s the fitment of the coil on the 30 it’s the easiest coil to adjust, you just center the coil on the bottom of the ligers body and tighten till it’s thumb tight no need to over tighten it will expand as it heats up

I’m unsing 30mm - Sapphire coil@535°-550° Nail @384-398ish And SiC coil@~550°585° with still huge clouds and great vaporization

Ive had a similar problem with my unit and it is one the reasons I bought it back in Dec. was for those profiles. Running a sapphire on 30mm as well as my halos and my temps jump about 150 degrees each direction, never stable…and Ive checked the coils …one of those things I spend too much with is making sure they have good contact. The difference between a good and great dab is contact. The first unit I had back feb/march worked beautifully for 30mm but networking feature didn't work so since then it replaced has been replaced by 2 others that have not been stable and networking hasn't worked. Ive kind of given up on it Im not sure I even know where is my hex nail so I can't tell you what version I am running (think it might have been 1.7). Is anyone else having this issue or everyone just using coil mode? There is a lot of people on this forum who's opinions I respect who seem to be getting great results so Im confused with what is the problem. I finally got a response saying they will switch out my unit again for a red queen but Id really like to have a working unit because Im a little frustrated. Ive held back on writing this for quite awhile because I don't want to be spread negativity and I realize there are two people doing everything but I need some feedback. Thanks

Not yelling that at you, friend. Just want people to be able to see it more easily. Haha.

But...I'll message you instead because we can get this fixed [pretty swiftly and it'll get you ready for 2.0 in a couple of weeks. (Oh and this applies to anyone that can't update their software, too. Message me and we'll get it done.)

(EDIT: PM sent)

While we admit our 30mm tunings need some work they have improved in 1.2.10. We also have some more changes and refinements for them coming with our OS/2 update as well thanks to a customer (who spent a long time dialing in their tunings).

(Oh, and just to let folks know. I'm still watching the thread for customer issues that might pop up just not going to really be socially active...and send me your custom tuning values.)

Oh...and one more thing. To clarify:
For the moment we recommend only using Coil (and not Nail) tracking. We're getting there but it's just not up to snuff yet. The dish values when in coil mode are still active so dish temp is still easy to see.

When using DISH mode my dish temp fluctuates quite a bit as well; while using NAIL mode temps are rock solid.

I didn't even like my 30mm Liger until the HN-01.
RDK-200 couldn't drive it to my liking.
Post HN-01, all 30mm all the time.
1.2.8 on the Hex was great, 1.2.10 is even better.

Can't wait for OS/2!

Hope that worked for you I’m positive that was your issue as Ava explained more

So you’re saying the 30 mm is going to be more of a beast than it already is in vaporization OMG!
And a huge shout out to whoever the customer/member it is who took the time to dial it more!!!PROPS

Also I have a few questions in regards to the new update one will be with the gob/up-temp. I know we will have the option to use the graphs with power and temp, Will that be a more precise way of tracking the temp and hit than now? basically giving more control over the hit it’s self and having more precise/exact temp throughout the hit? Because I’m gonna dig haveing that much control with a hit

And when we have these graphs and info are we going to be able to share that with other users over networking? I think that’s gonna be a huge impact on the way we all medicate in a GOOD way if we all so choose to use networking due to some of the more experienced users and the ones that like to fiddle with the settings and being able to share that with each other then we all can learn the best temp and setting for each type of material and the type of hit you want and more.
With that being said I know the networking is secure, but will we have a secure place to meet/find other users and how will that work with verifying only us people with the hex’s haveing access not not just anyone?

Please remember the dab alerts on the app so when your out of the room and your buddy sneaks a dab without you, you know! LOL jkin maybe in the future. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND COMMUNICATION

I have an AugustHaus Custom Liger coil and a larger shroud on order.
There is a bit of a wait time on both items, but once I receive them I will send to the fine ladies @ Hex-Nail for compatibility testing and (hopefully) tuning!

Not sure how much better it could get (as it's so damn good now), but it seem like the next step.

Yepp, going a step further I think customized coils from HexNail optimized for the CCA Ligers and the NV FlowerPots would be really nice!

I guess these are the kinds of coils which are used by most HN customers?

Thanks everyone for the tips. I’ve been so focused on those profiles and nail mode for so long that I didnt realize the nail temp is still active in coil mode. I’ve been using it that way and temps are stable and getting much better results with both sapphire halo and 30mm Liger. And Ava was quick to respond to my issue. So big high five all around. Back in business. Tunnel vision. Painful.

Okay guys. I'll post a more eloquent request later but we want to know what everyone's top priorities for a 'Tracker / Log' when it comes to information.

What do you want to be able to go back and look at? What info like Strain, Type, etc do you want to see?

We're building out the values now so we need input from as many folks as we can get.
