Got my mahoe tube today. Even if in my head I was picturing a more blueish wood tone, it's still very nice and the workmanship is top notch as always. Thanks for making great products Ed.

Been a while since I been around this thread, still working on the combustion end of Ed's TnT, have gotten my hands on some nice little pieces, am calling them BOMBS, these little bad boys can pack a hellova punch and still be small enough to be neat and discreet enough to tuck away in your pocket like change. They are about the size of a quarter, thicker of coarse, and have a rather large bowl hole.

I have also been working on some of the most figured Amboyna Burl Dugouts I have ever done, big and bright, full of eyes, these are very nice, gotta get em to the photographer soon. So much is happening here, you gotta have a look. Hope you all have seen the work I am doing with the wooden stems for the LB, I just loaded and made available the new Maple Stems for it!

Pls have a look!

On Fri., 3/18/11, I placed an order for a West African Zebrawood dugout and matching bat, a stash box, and a cocobolo stem for my :mflb: from edstnt.com. The stem, dugout, and bat are for my upcoming vacation just days away so I sent Ed an email requesting expedited shipping from MS to PA, which I happily paid for. (Ed only ships on Mondays and Tuesdays as is clearly stated on his site.)

On Tuesday, 3/22/11, I received the following email from Ed (who was clearly just devastated ): "Hello, I just realized I did not ship you with the added priority shipping you paid for, I have just submitted a refund to your account now, you did ship yesterday and it did go priority flat rate, I am sure it will show before you leave, I am really sorry, I have been really busy, which is no excuse for not doing what I said, it is just me here and mrs. Ed, sometimes I miss things. I hope you don't hold it against me and pls do let me know when it arrives. My apologies, Ed"

Aww. That was so nice I couldn't even feel disappointed. I responded: "Hi Ed, I won't hold it against you. Shit happens! It's cool homie."

On Wednesday, 3/23/11 my package arrived. :D
The South American Cocobolo stem is so gorgeous, I almost want to whip out my LB and show people - but they just wouldn't get it. As for the dugout and bat, I'm hooked. I had never used one before but this is fab.

I highly recommend edstnt.com for the top-notch customer service and the quality, sexy wood. Vacation here I come.

Damn that is some mighty fine feedback!!! I thank you so much for the kind words and for understanding and forgiving me for the mistake. I am really glad your happy with your order, The Coco stems make a great accessory to the LB.

You gotta love the stealthyness and function of a dugout, I have been using one for I know 20 years. It always comes in handy!

Thanks again for this hella feedback and for spreading the word. I am most grateful! Pls do holla at me anytime I can do anything for ya!

I saw a guy making a beautiful Redwood Lace Burl electrical guitar body, the eyes were like fire over 90% of the whole thing, really nice stuff. Redwood tends to have small inclusions or voids, these imperfections have caused me to throw away some of the most figured pieces I had. The guy got some vibrant blue turquoise and a hammer and smashed it all to hell, he took the dust and small fragments and filled the bad spots, dropped a little CA Glue on it, sanded it and smoothed out for a unique look. I had to do it too, this is what I cam up with, I have had to throw away quite a few one of a kind pieces of Amboyna that I could have saved now.

These are a couple Amboyna Burl Tokes, only one has the turquoise, both are full of detail are gorgeous!

Really beautiful. Can't wait to get my custom sized Afzelia toke for those times when I feel like "fuck combustion" is perhaps a bit severe. Thanks in advance Ed.

Don't venture into the Lounge often (is that my second post today that i wrote that in) but read the above post. I like the story. Turning a negative into a positive is always rewarding in sales. Sometimes an obstacle can be followed by attention to detail, great customer service, and a quality product. In the end, the customer is satisfied.

Received this beautiful custom sized "toke" pipe from Ed very recently. I asked Ed to build a pipe for me that's one inch longer than his tokes, and to surprise me with the wood choice.
The wood is Afzelia, it's beautiful, light and slightly aromatic (has a light fruity scent that is very pleasant). It hits wonderfully; very smooth and cool. Even though I'm not much of a smoker anymore this is a really nice piece and it was inexpensive. Anyway not much more I can think to say about it but here's some pics, as you can see it has some use.

Been working on many things here at Ed's TnT, I had gotten these chunks of Hawaiian Black Heart Mango, it is an awesome species and glad to have been able to get my hands on it, these dugouts are rough, havent been sanded or finished what so ever, these are gonna pop when I put some BOMB ASS BUTTER on em!

These are the latest dugouts I have just made. The Amboyna is so bright with eyes and rich colors, they are spectacular. I havent had any Camphor Burl in a while, got a couplea chunks, the eyes are so large, you can see why they call it "Tigers Blood".

Ed, those Amboyna dugouts are gorgeous! I have a thought.... how about making a dugout that would work with the vapor tubes? Would that be cost prohibitive? Maybe something the same size, but with the lid on the long side so the stem could hit the bottom. I'd love to see something like this for the vapor crowd.

I think I have been propositioned with that idea before, just a big dugout system for a tube, not a bat right? It would be quite large to accommodate for the large diameter of the tube, and the stash side would also have to be fairly big for packing the tube. I guess its possible, just gonna be pricey, finding wood that large for this as well as tooling. My tubes are bout 5/8" OD x 3 5/8" length, I think the box would have to be at least 4 1/4" in length x 1 1/4" thick x 2 1/4" wide give or take a 1/4" either of the ways. The more I think of it, I guess it could be done, just ain't feeling it that much right now, let me sleep on it and run over it a spell.

Can anyone else see this? Whats your thought?

Hey Ed!

Those "Bombs" look neat and i'm surprised they're only the size of a quarter. I was on your site and it looks like they're out of stock, when could I have one? :ko:

Thanks

In theory, for a collector of beautiful wood, a dugout for Vapor stems would be an artistic achievement.
The dugout is a stealth device.. with added charm of Ed's wood.. but in this case, it would not serve a stealth
purpose. That being said, the increased size would be fine.
Would the stems be stored in the tip down position?
Would it be built for travel or display?
I want to sleep on it too, while I dream of new stems, and carrying pouches.

My thought is that ut would to large for stealthy, it only takes a little to make a lot of difference. My dugouts are maybe a tad larger than most. I like em to be solid, I am not a dainty kinda guy, they would have to well made. I think the tube would have to be tip down, you don't want the tip in your eye.

The more I think about it, I guess it wouldn't be a dugout as much as a flat stash box with a swing lid wide enough for your stem to fit in. I, personally, wouldn't want to store my stems in it. It's not like the Zap is portable, which is the whole purpose of the dugout. A stash box that is smaller, for ground herb, but not too deep so that you can get every last morsel. :D Have I lost my mind?
