Tried distillate and did not like it.

I recently read about distillate and decided to give it a go. The stuff I had was high 90 percentile and unless I am missing something it did not get me off any better then normal wax I try. Also the high was much more like eatables which I am not a fan of. Anyone else have the same experience? Should I try something different? I like the fact that it is so pure and has very little taste or smell.

I don't like it either.
Too me it's just a gimmick.
No flavor or smell? Wtf. No thanks. That's too stripped down for me.

Same as @weedemon it's very potent and it's really pure, no terpenes so that could be causing lack of enjoyment? The flavoured ones have terps (either cannabis or food derived) re-introduced, and apparently not too healthy for dabbing as the "natural flavours" change with high heat (dab temp). So, I go with the plain as it's nice to add to flower as well. But overall, even though i'd take a solventless distillate over a BHO, I still prefer Rosin the best. It has its natural terps!

Tried a distillate cartridge for the first time while in Vegas. It was a Gorilla Glue #4 cartridge with terps added. Tasted lemony when using the e-cig/battery that was made by the same manufacturer as the cartridge and tasted harsh as hell in the cheapie CE4 e-cig/battery I brought with me. That's why I went back and bought the e-cig/battery that matched up for a whopping $5.

I've tried practically every form of cannabis but I'm easily flowers based 90% of the time so my experience with concentrates is limited. That Gorilla Glue #4 cartridge .... 2 hits rocked my world more than anything else ever has with the exception of that first taste of thai stick back 40 years ago.

Until I could get used to the high that Gorilla Glue #4 cartridge was a little more intense than I like though...made me a tad jittery/paranoid when I first hit it and took 3 big draws. Moderated to two smaller draws instead of 3 massive draws and it was great! I still prefer flower's full spectrum naturalness to anything else. I could tell that cartridge was going to cause a serious tolerance problem for me where flowers are concerned if I were to use it long term.

They use a ton of solvents to make distillate

Wow, I didn't know that! I've seen it constantly marketed as Solvent-free so just assumed no hydrocarbons were used whatsoever and it was a clean safe process. Talk about processed! I actually cancelled my 5g order the other day because I was a bit apprehensive about the flavourings, and now i'm glad I went with rosin - which is Solvent-LESS. thanks bro!

Yup, it's definitely more unassuming than it really is, and solvent free just means it was purged! These marketing guys are the true geniuses of our times! :D

U gotta put it in edibles. Or get some with terps added to smoke

FWIW, all the raw distillate I have had is purged extremely well, no bubbling whatsoever, and the flavor is very medicinal. I like it for a lot of the same reasons as were mentioned, it's a great way to bolster weak medicine, it's perfect for edibles (no stinky house!), it's been god awful cheap lately too around $20/gr regularly. I love it in my pens when mixed with terps only, very easy on the coils thus far. It's still missing something from hydrocarbon extracts the same way that the extracts are missing something from flower.

That's a really cool way of putting it! I think flavour/tasteless distillate can not be beat for stealth. If you wanna hit your pen on a break at work or whatever, this is the least smelling cannabis product?

Yes I do believe so, outside of edibles it's pretty much tops in stealth. Though I do have to say, I used one of those o-pen tanks (masive terps in those) a couple years back at a rodeo with the cops hanging around nearby. They didn't even look my way, though it may have been the cowgirls catching their attention.

Good quality distillate carts are hands-down the best for stealth. Especially in states with their heads still up their arse. I have had much success traveling by plane, train, cruise ship, Alaskan Bush Plane, Canoe, dog Sled. The discretion is impeccable. I have even used it in a smoking lounge in the airport.

Fractional distillation is a well know, extremely accurate process for separating individual component elements out of a compound.

It is NOT the same as 'purging' as used by most BHO houses.
