Discontinued The Grasshopper

All this talk of cases I thought I'd share mine. Probably been posted in 1 of the 742 other pages. It was an ebay purchase and is air tight and holds the hopper and 2 batteries. After my 1st failure being down to dirty temp sensor (assumption) I wanted something to protect my hopper as I'm always in a dirty /dusty environment. It also comes with a dummy battery for storing some herb in.

How's the PFE guys? Since I sent my hopper back, I can order an accessory provided it's in stock to be shipped back with my hopper. (Of course I have to pay for it, lol don't get any ideas).

I was thinking of getting one with the glass 18mm mouthpiece for my VapeXhale Turbine hydratube. Has anyone used that combination? Just wondering if it's worth it. Right now I"m using a Delta rubber thingy to make the seal :-)

Thanks

I've only been using the PFE since I got it and can't go back to the normal front end when pairing with glass as it doesn't suffice. The PFE IMO is a must have out of all the accessories. I have tried that combo, works great! I personally prefer pairing with a piece that you can leave the hopper in upright so you don't have to hold it. Pick one up, you'll love it

You have any recommendations on glass I can find online potentially? Perhaps the same one you have? LOL

I've really been digging the hopper's performance over my Cloud. I've been having varying degrees of issues with my Cloud... Sometimes it's too hot, sometimes too cold. Hopper was always right and so quick to heat up.

Sad to see it shipped away today. I put the PFE and Glass adapter in my cart. Let's see what happens.

I recommend you communicate to HL --through your warranty request dialog area, that you are placing an order, to be delivered with return of your Hopper, your wish being that they save money for you on shipping cost. Then they'll give you instruction on how to do that.

For easy glass piece I bought a knockoff of Pinnacle Pro Hydratube (get a 14mm size for use with the PFE). Bought it from an ebay seller so I didn't have to get it from China. I think I paid something like $23/free shipping. You might prefer something larger, but this does the trick for me. I do have a larger rig that I made from a glass jar and nice showerhead downstem from Oregon Glassblowers, which is a "pass around" whip style.
You might look at an Orbiter, made by Magic Flight, or if willing to go to China, a 0D20 from Sunshine Store at DHGate. These are inexpensive options that I know. Of course, sky's the limit on spending if you're willing...just keep in mind to get 14mm size or you'll need an adapter.

Yeah, that's exactly what I plan on doing :-). Was included in the return email

My favourite setup by far has been an MFLB Orbiter with a custom 14m flared stem from @Oregonglassblower, I wasn't a fan of the whip.

I recieved my GH back from Hopper Labs. It's working perfectly so far, so I'm happy.

I think I will buy a leather case from Amazon to help with any scratches - for $12. To me this unit looks like a new one or different than the GH that I had sent in. It has a few little scuffs on it but no tiny scratch where I had on the GH that I sent in.
I also bought 3 new batteries. I have a total of 8 now. About three are older.

Back in baby's arms.

Glad to hear you're back in the saddle. As I recall, you said you had gotten a new serial number (?), so that's new back end at minimum. In the body, below the screen, is it still blue color or is it white? I think white might mean a whole new Hopper, unless they completely rebuilt the body innards and buffed it smooth outside for you. Whatever the case, long may it run!

No blue area under where the battery goes. To me it looks like it's all metal a copper color. I took a pic but it still hard to see. Around the edge of the metal in the middle is a darker screen area surrounding it. A charcoal/ black type of a color. This is a completely different GH.

Is the Grasshopper still the same as a year ago, or has it been improved somehow?
And if there have been improvements, what has been changed?
There are fewer folks sending theirs back. The unit was suppose to have been upgraded some time ago according to Hopper Labs. The area under the battery has changed with this fixed Hopper that I got back. I think the blue area under the battery must have been an issue. The back end was supposed to have been improved some time ago.

Edit
I see no blue under the screen when I shine a light down inside the herb chamber. At this time all I see is a metal screen. I'm not taking the screen out at this time to check and see.

with blue I think he meaned the heater ... you have to look from the herb chamber if you can see the blue heating element or if it is white...

That doesn't sound like they're any more durable. Isn't it?
@Kermitt you are taking a chance buying this unit. It's a wonderful vaporizing tool when it works as it's suppose to. There are folks that haven't hardly had any issues. There are others that have sent their units back 6 or 7 times.

When you buy this unit you just need to know there is a good possibility at some point you will need to send it in for service.

Edit
@Hogni i didn't realize no more lifetime warranty? I must have missed that. I think my unit has a lifetime warranty? I bought mine in June 2017.

I guess, it isn't. My hopper changed in June stand just a month. Got my 3rd one in 9 months. But they seem getting better. Performance is noticeably increased at least.
This beast is worth to buy for sure - perhaps not yet. I believe if construction is reliable sometime GHL wont offer lifetime warranty anymore.
I you want to give it a try the next times buy in Europe. Believe "Verdampftnochmal" is the last retailer of the GH. So shipment costs will stay reasonable.

I have the OG Brick, a Omnivap and I already have a hopper, but it doesn't work reliably anymore. Therefore, I can send it back to the seller and get the purchase price refunded.

Now the question is whether I buy the Hopper directly from verdampftnochmal, or rather wait some time.

The Hopper is great, and I want to own one in the future again. But I also have no problem waiting for improvements, or a GH2.

once again I want to prise how much I like the hopper... it is really one of the best vapes when not the best vape I have...
and no rma since february..

I can recommend this vape totaly altough I would also recommend a another vape as a backup (I think it is always a good idea to have one, I recommend a torch powered one (like stickybricks) for those times when you have no electricity)

and with the lifetimemwarranty if it should break, you have to keep in mind if you rma you will get the latest updates ...

btw I am using my hopper mainly withbmy mflb orbiter (dry) the vapor clouds are massive...

@Kermitt do not think a gh2 is coming in the near future... (it took them 2 years to design the ss case for hopper)...
also in my opinion if they would be able they could use their heater technology a lot more... sorry if I am wrong but in my opinion gh is really one if not the only one vape company which where able to build a totaly new and revolutionary heater ... all other companies are using more or less the same technologies, nothing new really

Yeah I'm thinking along those same lines @btka. A working hopper for quick potent hits, a mighty for sessions/sharing, and a sb/daisy for rock-solid backup butane reliability is all anyone needs.

A milaana for flavor is nice too, and nobody's taking my ssv away, but for portable use... vas rules!

I have this case too, it is made by the same person who makes the grasshopper feeder, they both work great!

The PFE is great for bong rips, definitely treat yourself!

I just checked the gh website and it still says there is a lifetime warranty

Yup its still a lifetime warranty and when a component fails it is replaced with an updated version of that component. Over time my unit has been updated and certainly performance and battery life have improved and longentivy is better, the last one I need an RMA was after it actually got rained on. I let it dry out for a few days and then it worked for a few weeks before it finally wouldn't turn blue anymore.

aint no party like a diddy party
For some insane reason i bought my brothers two tt hoppers off him in a stoned haze last night, two spare tt`s for backup is the minimum required right lol?
anyhow i messaged the lovely Caroline over at hopper labs and she is going to tag them onto my current hopper account for a fee of $45, so with the charger the ss case and the warranty thats me me $150 dollars down (plus the cost of the two tt`s).
i think i may have a hopper problem....
