I recently had the opportunity to get my hands on a vapcap bowl. It was sent to me so that I could make a cork sleeve that would allow any vapcap tube (minus the cap) to fit into an 18mm female fitting based vaporizer like the Milaana or iHeat. It allows for roasting smaller amounts and there is nothing to break if dropped. Here are some photos showing how the 18mm cork sleeve fits the vapcap.

I had been told that the vapcap bowl would fit any of my wooden tubes with a 5/16" hole in the end. It does fit really well. Here is the vapcap bowl in a koa wood 14mm WonG tube.

vapcap14mmwong.jpg

Since the vapcap fits into a 5/16" hole, and a 5/16" ss tube will fit into a 10mm ID glass tube using a silicone sleeve, then the vapcap should fit into a 10mm ID glass tube using a silicone sleeve. Here is a vapcap in one of my 14mm GonG tubes. They will fit into my 18mm GonG tubes that also have a 10mm ID glass tube end.

I also found that my 8mm ss basket screens fit nicely into the vapcap bowl to provide a finer flower filter.

Happy roasting

Hi @Summer , I made a vapor lung tonight, its quite easier than i expected and efficient. This is my first attempt i think its quite success. i am enjoy it~ could be a good friend with vapcap:tup:
The vapor is cool, totally cant taste any plastic, and no water so i can just drop it anywhere when I'm medicated:lol:

A nice experiment, @paehtod, however, you may want to limit inhaling hot plastic
byproducts....:freak::hmm:

I’m impressed! :) Can you tell me where you got the clear bag (be specific if you can) and what you used for a mouthpiece? :)

Quiet night!

@Winegums loving that case! Nice work bro. I think i read somewhere in this thread or another that you also make knives? Got a link to pics?

I've dabbled in making knives as a hobby but nothing professional. I'll fully admit that my blade finishing is sorely needing practice and work. I've only made around 10 knives so far and these three are the most recent. You can see how my love of red metals and exotic wood has carried over to the stems I've made. I've got more photos in my instagram if you want to scroll for a bit. All the blades are made from forged O1 tool steel.

@paehtod, ......Nice!

@Winegums, the handle on the top, largest knife is beautiful. Where did you get the sheath for it? The leather is so thick & well-worn.

@Alan, great informative post; saved for future use. What diameter is the silicone the bottom pic? .... 10 or 12 mm? Oh, that wong wood is beautiful.

One must add that the VapCaps are not very known in my area.

Do never, I repeat: do never take your VapCap collection (or parts of it) to a birthday party with beloved and 420 friendly people.

....fortunately - just "stock models" that one can re-order at any time.

Your spreading the love & have to believe that they, too, will spread the word. Not for one minute do I believe that if you had any not-stock vcs on you, you'd have parted with them.

I have the old omni design with the old 7 fin tip and want to compare if there's any functional differences with the newer 5 fin tip.

Do be sure to post a your thoughts as I'm interested in hearing them. Personally, I found the draw on the omni xl, even w/ the adjustable mp, more restrictive that M so what I did was switch the tips. I found that the ti tip on the M significantly increased the air flow &, therefore, reduced the draw significantly. Really like. With the M's ss tip on the omni, significant airflow increase. And, when I get around to modifying the M tip, it'll get even better. To me, the carb on the XL is useless as it's way too small IMO. Unfortunately, it was after the last sale, that, if I recall correctly, George started enlarging the carb; unfortunately missed that boat. :(

I made it myself. Learning to work with leather and tooling it was a joy. It's one of my most favourite materials to use, it always seems to cooperate with me for the most part. Tooling is so so satisfying as an art form. I've been thinking of making some leather items lately but I haven't really settled on what I want to do. I have a whole shoulder hide waiting to be used.

You working with the leather reminds me of arts & crafts in summer camp. Good memories. :)

How about a satchal to carry your @Pipes IH in. :brow: I think some nice fold-over carrying satchal or how about a cell-phone case.

Thanks. It is fun seeing the beauty of the wood appear as it is finished.
The silicone sleeve is 5/16" OD x 3/16" ID and must be stretched over the end of the vapcap tip. A bit of coconut oil or water helps the silicone slide into the glass tube since it is a snug fit.

I use GLAD food bag from supermarket, which really light and thin and ok tough, just use rubber bands can fix it good, i slightly sanded the bottle to prevent its too sharp that the food bag may got pierced.

Hi @stark1, i think its ok because the vapor is not hot when got in the bottle, I do hesitate if it incorporated with combustion method but with vapcap's vapor just cool~ @natural farmer have explained in this thread:

But I am sure using a lot more with my new D020 glass bubbler:rofl:,
and @Vapor_Eyes i just got inspired by your spittoon and made a coffee cup ABV collector:p

Holy Moly! I should clean my Vapcaps more often. I just cleaned my current favorite (Omni TI Cocobolo) after approx. 1 months of intensive use (10+ times a day) and it tastes so great again. Not that it did taste noticeable "bad" before. But, yummy, I should really do that once every 2 weeks. It took just 5-10 minutes to have it brand new again and the difference in taste is clearly there. I am such a damn sloth. ;)

@fcmember - you have the Rolls Royce of vapes and some nice glass pieces and I assume you vape rather than smoke for health reasons so why risk it?

Maybe he is just having fun experimenting. Doubt the vapor is hot enough to get the plastic to off gas any at all. Either way I'm sure a bunch of us have experimented with vaping/combusting instruments at some point in our lives.

I learned how to make a fire with a tree branch and my boot laces, bow fire drill... But i still use a bic to start my fires. Knowing how to build/make something useful is never a waste of time IMO

Outstanding that you are enjoying your glass with your VC, which is my favorite way to use it at home. Just to be clear, however, what you are using is the D020-D which has a little bigger can (so more water), squared of top for the female joint and more detailed perc.
The D020 is a little smaller, rounded top and simpler perc. They are both great for this application.

Actually, that's an interesting piece. Got a link?

Did you make it to orbit? I really do enjoy glass with the VCs as they allow really big hits from a full draw rather than mouth pulls. I don't mind mouth pulls when using direct as I have gotten used to them, but the full on draw from glass is more natural. For me anyway.

Hi @cybrguy my intention is to get a smaller version D020 like your photo, but when i am off work and walking the night market, i saw this big version D020-D for $34, so without shipping cost and waiting, i bring it home immediately, it is little advantages to live near the china manufacturer.

Totally agreed. I enjoy mouthpull with my omni XL when outside, but at home, its 100% nonavong with D020 now, i cant resist the one single big hit, remind me the old combustion bong hit.
