VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

I'm very happy with my Jarhead, but if/when Pipes comes up with a smaller PS I may well have to consider it. The number of dips folks are getting from the current version clearly implies that a 2 or single battery version may well be quite powerful enough to be worthwhile.

oh man.......I need all 3 of my 18650's for power and duration. When you have one of these babies.....It is hard not to just let it sit there and not be used..........haaaaaaaaaa I tend to use more flower now.....ooopsie dooopsie.... :p

But really.....in this day and age.....it is so nice not to have to plug stuff in all the time....or get caught waiting for it to charge enough.....what ever else it is needing a charge. Plus....like if someone wants to use at a party or a few users.....you got tons of use to go through.

I have been perfectly happy using the torch when out and about, but a smaller PortSide IS attractive and I will have to think seriously about it. With the JarHead I never use the torch at home (with VCs, I still torch the Lotus) and I don't mind that at all. I also like the precision of the predictability of the JarHead and I assume the PS would be the same.

I'm in no hurry, tho, so we'll see.

My thinking exactly, @cybrguy. I got the jarhead because I usually vape at home and didn't need portability that much. However after using @stickstones PS around Vegas, I realized that I needed the portable solution, too. The Mini will suit my needs best I think, so I'm down for one. @Pipes is a genius!

It's fun being on a list for a cool new vaporizer. I love this stuff...

......vaporizer...........Heater..... ;)

With many tests for science thru the weekend. The JH preformed amazingly and really let's the Dynavap shine.

After a run to the hardware store, some 3/8ID x 1/2OD silicone tubing for the M worked perfectly on a local piece the wife picked up for me. Thanks again @Pipes... Smoking in the garage will never be the same.

Nice water unit! Can you show more pics...trying to understand the mouth piece area. Looks like a perfect smooth little hitter. Is the stem fixed position?

Sorry, i have to ask again. I think i am too dumb to get this thing working. My Gen1
Heater got a switch and i didnt need the fet driver board. But now i will use a small
switch for a gen2 Heater but i do not get it working.

Everything itself is testet and working exept the fet driver, i got 2 of them and no one worked,
maybe i destroyed them i dont know. On the Vout side is a small 12v led stripe.

I also soldered the switch from +Vout to +Vin but didnt. worked... :(

@Lorsch if this is the right switch, it looks like you need the switch between the positive input and trig/PWM.

Looks like you're already connected to trig. Now the button's red lead should go to Vin+.

I'm not sure on the layout but "j1" is def. A cold solder joint if my eyes are working right. Try redoing that conact, just dont got it too hot or the pad will burn. Been there done that  . Good luck.

I'll post some pics when I get home. On the road for the next week or so for work. Yes the stem is fixed and the mouth piece reduces to small opening...think the size of a Dynavap mouth piece.

The PS Mini list is FULL. (20 units) Man, that was quick. Not taking more names as don't want to get too far ahead of myself.
Still room on all other lists.

The positives are already connected. The FET switches the ground side. You should be able to just use a wire and touch a positive to the J1 spot which you have it to. If the LED doesn't light, the FETs have opened up. I've have a few that the FET legs missed the solder bath correctly and appeared open but re-soldering the legs down get them up and running.

BTW, soldering is 90% preparation. Cut and trim the insulation to where only about 1mm of wire shows. Dab some solder onto the tip of iron. Touch the dab to the wire at the same time as touching some solder so the flux flows into the wire and the dab of solder transfers. Do both these processes quick so insulation has minimal melting. Now put a dab of solder on the contact pad you are going to attach the wire to. At this point you have a wire with a small solder ball on it and a solder pad also with a small solder ball on it. Now place the two balls beside each other and just touch the iron long enough for the balls to flow together. Makes for a much more trustworthy connection and looks better to boot. :science:

My Jarhead has been back up and running solidly for a couple of days now; It's completely amazing. I heat 2 seconds or so after the click on the first cycle, and get thick tasty vapour right from the very first hit.
Stoked to be on the PS mini list too  awesome work @Pipes

hello all,
i am now on the list for a portside. i am a noob when it comes to batteries. if its not an AAA, AA C, D, E, or 9volt i know nothing about them. would any portside owners care to tell me what you are using and whet you recommend? Possibly a good place to get them?

thanks in advance

Lazyright now but off the top of my head I thought ps was changing to the ps mini and that would have a liPo pack that you just charge... No lithium 18650 iirc

The original PS requires 3x 18650's with a minimum of 20amp continuous discharge.

I went for 3x LG HG2's.
