Ordered one of those 45° bent ones, a short one and a 3 pack of top hats. That's my kind of crucible. Easy. :brow:
Thank you for the support! Not sure what this crucible you speak of is exactly... We should be able to get these out to you Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Enjoy! Love my Tubo Evic with the TopHat setup! I guess I'm biased but glad I'm not alone.

Am I really the first?

Hope to give it a test drive this weekend.

Cuboid updated and all settings have been set as advised.

So is this also the first tubo(x) with two batteries out in the wild?

Love how it feels and looks. Thank you @funkyjunky

I got one too, just like yours, but i am waiting for my paycheck so i an get the RX300 :p (4 batteries)
Can someone link me to the list of Mods that are good for the TUBO ?
------------
NVM I found it. Can some explain what makes these devices good for the tubo software ,and are those the only models good for it ? Is there a specific model of chip which is good for the MYEVIC ?

yes they basically all use the same board, a nuovoton one namely. different configuration of the pins in different models. there are newer models that use the same boards, but arent supported yet (i wont dive into this). actually myevic could in theory support all devices that arctic fox does but since clockselect the original coder of this project doesnt have much time anymore, it is still due.
there is one guy that ported his project based on the myevic code to the primo 2. as long as i dont have one to test it myself i wont be including it into the tubomyevic code.

in short: at this point in time only the mods on the above list do support the tubomyevic software.

look, its a wild gecko tubo in the woods :D

I finally tried my Tubo evic!!

I used it with the 18mm bong adapter and guys, this thing is an HEAVY HITTER... Maybe just a little less visible vapor than my Herborizer TI BUT the Tubo is still really strong.
I used it in cruise mode at 235c, and after 2 hits my microdose was dark brown (same as herborizer TI abv)

Is well made, really beautifull!!!! Just amazing. Im in love

In the future im gonna try to but the Ddave vaporcooler mod with rimless screen, cause i prefere to use some water filtration or glass filtering, anyone tried it?

Well I eventually got around to ordering some vxh elb's to try out in the short rbt stem I use...

They're bigger than I was expecting (that's a first for vape related stuff I think  )
Bloody hell they're a tight squeeze into that 18mm rbt joint. No way would they be an on-the-go solution for pre loaded loads.

I did try them out anyway and they were ok but definitely need a stir mid way due to the length of the thing holding some of the load so far away from the heat.

However I've found a much better use for them (for me at least, not actually owning an evo), I cut most of the top part off and just made a basket from the bottom part. It looks just like a bigger ver of the basket screen from my nano.
It pushes (open end up) easily through the mouthpiece stem with the handle of a perfectly sized wooden spoon I have, but jams really solid in the 18mm joint, making a nice flat platform for the load.
Expensive but works a treat  you do have to bear in mind that I'm in the uk and getting hold of screens for these things are near impossible without paying as much for postage as I paid for the elbs.

Three weeks using the Tubo as my daily driver now at home and friends (think I've used my supreme a couple of times only and I use my air for dog walks etc) and love it more than ever . It's performed like a champ - back to back high temp loads, longer lower cruises... it just delivers whatever you ask of it

I'm constantly charging batteries though :D

:D I also want to try the elbs, but sadly none of the sellers sells singles. and i think 4 are more than i ever need.. Maybe i should ask in the selling section ,if someone EU based wants to get rid of his. Btw soon after getting the tubo i was planning on ordering elbs with the length of the GONG,so the bottom can be in the place of the regular screen.. Sadly for making it they needed to create a new mold which bumped the final price at 2 $ a piece.. for 100-200pc It would have been like 1$ for a Thousand ,which is just too much.
Honestly i've used my batteries like 5-10 times after i rigged the Power Adapter :), the best thing about it is that, performance is better than any battery can deliver simply because there is no voltage drop and like 40 amps of power, which is unspendable with the current heater design :).

Have you posted a pic of your power supply setup @Abysmal Vapor?
I would love to see it.
It is nothing fancy just a plastic box for the PA with a cork battery dummy. It is nothing like the beauty FJ posted. I am actually considering ordering the box and the dummy with a battery door from him . I pretty much started hating the DIY looks of it.. It just robs out some of the class of TUBO, I also have just two ugly blue cables hanging. I thinking removing the isolation of an old cable for clothes iron, which is insulated in beautiful textile :). Or maybe buy one of these ..beautiful textile cables. I will make sure to post things up once i make it pretty :)),.

Hey there FJ, finally off my T-break and ready to try my TuboX, but got a question..... by the way, finally updated my Tubo and will be trying the new software while I await your reply. Only only posted here so everyone could see the answer.

So, just updated my eVic VTC Mini with your software, and was wondering if there was a resistance I was supposed be changing or setting on it before I use it?

I know with my Tubo it's inside the battery door, I dbl checked it after the update, but what about the TuboX?

Thanks and off to help test!

**Edit -

Ok FJ, tried the new .bin and here's what I got. Updated my Tubo with today's update. Everything went fine.

Once done, I went in and the only setting I changed was cruise length to 3 minutes. Went back to the frontscreen and sent her to Cruise and the screen goes blank? It's heating, but nothing on the screen until I double click to come out of cruise. I can change the temp, it seems to be running correctly.

I thought I remembered back about this in a prior update, or am I Tubo'd up and smiling? I really forgot how hard things can hit after a T-break

I did reflash as standard protocol, but same thing. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing, I just went thru it all and nothing I saw made me think I changed a setting.

Nevermind, I think I'm in stealth mode, but can't figure out how to get out? I tried doing Power/ (-) again, but it doesn't change it, and it doesn't say on the manual!

**Edit Edit

I'm sorry everyone, I'm not at my full senses at the moment, that was a ramble. For the sake of everyone being able to laugh with me, I'm leaving it. But I do realize

if i may post the pic of your tubox (we should start a new thread maybe):
NsxmrtU.png

see that scotch there, on there should be a number, hopefully readable.

at one point i wanted to send the following text to all future tubox owners but seem to have missed this:
there is no tubox specific manual included, i figured its something i can hand you later as well :p
anyhow, there is this small scotch with a number on it. write it down somewhere. i didnt want to write it onto the tubox somewhere, but i think it would be best...
the number is the calibrated resistance using a cuboid200. you should expect good results around this number on other mods as well, they do vary slightly tho.
if possible i recommend using a mod that is compatible with the tubo firmware. use the tool from joyetech (they have one for each model) or NFEtools.org

Nothing but hazy forecasts in tuboland (I actually think tuboplanet is better! It's just the atmosphere here folks!)

Thanks for continuing to improve this already awesome, simultaneously futuristic and retro looking device. So much personality in this herb destroying desktop robot (or is it a tape deck box?:hmm:)

I don't mind at all, I'm , she's beautiful!

I did see the tape and number, but wasn't sure if it was a setting or an identifier? Now that I know, could you tell me just what settings this is changing. I went thru them all and didn't see anything near the 248 on the tape. Very excited to try this once I'm able and ready to get treated like it's bi*ch , stealth mode or not, she's made me hers.

By the way, can you tell me how to get out of stealth mode?

Thanks again, I'm loving your stuff!!! And we should start a seperate thread for the TuboX

**Edit - I'm sorted on the stealth mode, you were right, it doesn't change while in cruise.

Thanks again for the incredibly fast reply. Your stuff rocks, your service rocks, you my friend ROCK!

But I would still love to know exactly which setting(s) to change the 248 to lol.

stealth mode on/off: hold 'fire' & '-' buttons

the only setting that needs to be changed is the coil resistance in 'menu>coils>manage>TCR'. make sure the little lock symbol is behind the number before you leave this menu. while you are in this menu, set Check to No.
quickly also check that in 'menu>coils>TCR set' the TCRs are set to 185.
done.

or did you want an explanation why this number and not another (probably higher one) that your mod reads automatically? this number determines the resistance of the coils at 70F. an equation calculates with this and the TCR value the temperature. this temperature is wrong tho if the resistance was not locked at 70F or other contact points add resistance etc.
when i calibrate the heaters i basically manipulate the resistance value until the displayed temperatures match the ones of my temperature probe.

thanks for the kind words! :D

edit: ah yes, the number is only the decimal places. 0.248 ohms it means. early adopters amiright.

.248 for coil resistance

probably next to the omega symbol. depends on your mod. definitely interesting in hearing how the tubo-x works out for you!

Sorry for letting this hang, had a few things to get done before I could play anymore.

Thank you kind sir, I think that was all I needed. She's in and running smooth. As for my opinion, this is perfect! I love my Tubo, I love this more!

I used a velcro strap to hold the mini to the base of my glass, it sat there perfect and it really felt like having a portable Evo in my hand. So smooth.

I thank you as well! The only thing I had to change was changing the Check setting to NO.

She's working great after one bowl of testing. I do think it's running a bit cool, I may play with that number a bit. At 405F with a 2 minute warmup, I took three long steady pulls with maybe 30 seconds in between them and got a ridulous amount of flavor, but only a whispy visible hit on the third.

As I bumped to 445F, I started to get some clouds, but tasty medium density. At 445 on my Tubo, I'm looking like a dragon the same load and that temp! That was on a solid battery pulled off the charger at exactly 4.20 volts. After my 2 minute warmup and the 5 minute cruise, the battery was at 75%, which I think is pretty damn good for what's going on here.

This is a portable cloud machine that will give you a solid 3 - 5 minute sessions with full on demand, and I really can't overpower it.

I can't wait to dial it in just a little bit.

For the record, this is being used on a eVic VTC Mini, an older model.

I like to think of my blue one as Rick Deckard's vape of choice.. And I love the way the 'hack' vibe is maintained in it's aesthetics, right down to it being sent in the original eVic box.. That sense of resourcefulness is part of it's innate charm :luv:

I also had the arduous task of testing the firmware over the weekend. It's all I had hoped for, and ran without issues. Particularly nice to not have to drop the power to change temp.. I at least perceived a tad more residual heat (avb seemed a bit darker at 210c), but I probably pushed it a bit harder as well, what with the rigorous testing an all..

Also - pressing the temp button in Warmup mode takes you straight into session (starting on the preset temp). Is that a new one, or did I not notice on the last update?

And thanks FJ, for putting so much thought, time and effort into improving your existing users' experiences.. at this rate the Tubo will achieve sentience by 2020. I, for one, would welcome our new vapoid overlord

Well worn
Packed some flowers and concentrate and cruised at 420°.
I wanted to get the extra chug that this glass has but the base is really too small for the Tubo and was wobbly.

For a moment I thought that I'd just record another session with a more stable piece but I was too wrecked. :freak:

Whew! Put in my order last week. Went with poplar and black with Long bent stem. I don’t use glass or water or whips. I also plan to eventually get the DDave cooler attachment. FJ said it would be 3-4 weeks before it would be ready to ship so I went ahead and read all 67 pages of the Tubo thread. Can’t wait to try it out for myself.

My main driver is a Volcano and have never found a portable I like but the Tubo seems perfect and looks cool also!

To start off, I think I will only use the “on-demand” mode, I don’t mind having to hold down a button for the length of the draw. Cruise mode seems like it’s a waste of battery when not drawing and I could see myself putting it down and forgetting that it’s on.

Combustion would be catastrophic for me so I plan on starting low temp and working my way up to find the sweet spot. I also plan on using either the double rimmed screen method or the capping with the rimmed screen method.

I plan on just keeping one battery, maybe two just in case one craps out, and charging through usb cable. I don’t think I’m as much of a heavy hitter as most of you guys so the short battery life shouldn’t be too bad for me, I can just plug it in between bowls. I will still probably use my Volcano mostly, unless the Tubo is soooo good that it somehow replaces my 10-year Volcano love affair.

I also have a question for FJ about the Tubo Dual. Did I read one of your posts correctly that said you haven’t yet figured out how to be able to use a usb wall charger to directly charge the dual, as in you could only charge the batteries by taking them out and using an external battery charger? Or did you mean you can’t figure out how to get the dual to work like a desktop and plug directly into outlet? I don’t like having a ton of parts/accessories so if I want to get the dual at some point I’d prefer to just be able to plug it directly into the wall via usb.

Also to FJ, did you end up selling those gecko Tubos? I would definitely be interested if it means not waiting

Other than that, thanks to everyone so far who have contributed so much good info and experiences on this thread for newbies like me. I haven’t even touched one yet but I feel like I know it already. And obviously good work and thanks to FJ for being the pioneer that he is.

Peace!
