100% Decarb With The NOVA

Hi:wave:, I'm new here signed up because of this thread. I purchased an Ardent Lift. My problem is/was that my lift won't go off after 1hour 15min. I saw that some people had the same problem or is it a problem? I manually turn mine off at 1Hr 30 to a golden brown color ,2nd attempt.

Gavmar did your unit go off at 1hr 47min or did you shut it off, also was it burnt tasting at all, at that color?

Does anyone else have there unit run longer? I just don't want to leave it and have it burn my meds. I read thru this thread way back before I made my purchase and I believe it was mentioned before, but the time was 90min shut off and that's why I chose that time to stop my unit.

You guys have a lot more time with your units than I do and seem cool so I decided to post.
By the way I sent a email to Shanel, waiting for a response. As far a smell mine doesn't smell more than the lid smell, my lid is oversized and I'm grateful for the lack of bud smell while its working. I really love this thing just want to know the time thing and will it shut its self off.
Mine stayed on overnight

I am planning to buy this device but my question is this:

Will this improve my vaping experience with Mighty? If I decarb my flower and then put them into Mighty, will it make my flower more potent and have a better vaping experience? Or is Mightys vaporization enough?

don't know about a Mighty, but my vape is definitely enough ... only a very slightly better buzz after decarboxylation.

but device is perfect for making RSO. i do a decarb before the ethanol extraction and it works very well ... the ethanol can extract better from the somewhat crispy herb.

@Krazy has it right, decarbing works for edibles and such that wouldn't reach temps enough for the process. Smoking and vaping does it during the smoking/vaping.

My edibles were meh before, now my cookies rock!

Is it true there is no need to cook bud into oil after using this product?

I usually use low temp with crock pot and infuse into coconut oil.

I decarb before infusing my oil. It makes my baked goods more potent. I also add soy lecitin(sp?) to my oil which also increases potency.

Hi, new here just wanted to report that this thread was instrumental in me getting one of these units. The wait for one is quite long. Sep 21st till Nov 3rd. Wow. I'll tell you though. I ran a batch through and for the first time (I tried in my oven twice) I have results that LOOK like what I see pictures of what decarbed should look like. I tried to keep oven temp stable and even though it is a brand new kitchen oven, it varied so much I thought I'd burn it. So I'm sure it was never fully decarbed. I'm running that small batch of canna coconut oil right now and I'm keeping my fingers crossed..

As mentioned before, I effectively tested mine to destruction, lol. Ran many many capacity loads without cool down period in between. Even if we disregard the potential stress of lack of cool down and high capacity runs? I got the equivalent of years worth of normal consumers use out of mine.

That said; You are combining electronics, heat, and your stash. So if you don't supervise and end up destroying a lot of bud? It's on you.

Well, my first results were encouraging. I probably was not doing the kitchen oven decarbing anywhere near correctly. After using the Nova my cannacoconutoil was appox twice as strong as my previous attempt. Previously I had to use a tablespoon. Now it's a teaspoon. So that's a big deal to me. You know, I think that's a reason many don't get involved with edibles. I mean, you KNOW if you smoke it, vape it, it works.

I'm in Oregon and even here if you BUY it, it's about $300 a oz. You grow it and you are obviously have a much better chance to play with edibles. We get to grow 4 plants here legally. I just grew 4 and I get a pretty good yield. Enough for me to make enough edibles to last until the next 90 day cycle by far. I can make tincures too which is nice.

I actually prefer the feeling vs smoking and vaping. Lasts a long long time.

I just received my Nova in the mail today I use two different brands of flowers the website claims that it is airtight and sent free but my garage tells our other story it reeks in there just like the flower

Did it heat up to the point of vaping? Or did you not not receive or not use the inner silicone lid?

Previous to my "testing to destruction" only the faintest of smells escaped my Nova. That was with water cured which reduces smell but on the flip side I have the minor super power enhanced sense of smell. When the temp control went wonky I could smell it big time.

I have decided that the lack of temperature monitoring means that next time I will be going with a Souse Vide rig next time around.

@Krazy - did you take yours apart to determine there was no temp sensor providing feedback to the heater controller??? kind of a surprise - mine has functioned flawlessly.

i replaced the silicone lid - which caused a bad odor - with a double aluminum foil cover. works a treat.

they recently got a new batch of units - i ordered another one for a festivus gift and a friend got one to start some chemo RSO treatments for a glioblastoma. delivery was less than a week.

Mine did a spot on flawless job for many many batches. Then one afternoon it partially vaped a full load and I got seriously effed up, lol.

By lack of temperature monitoring I mean lack of something showing me the actual temp in real time. I get that they don't want the added cost or complexity.

Yes it came with the lid silicone and it was on maybe my sense of smell is better than others my wife said she could not smell it

New member .. first post ..

Seems the failure rate on the unit is rather high judging from the comments of those buying the unit .. especially for the price ..

That's the only reason I haven't ordered one as of yet ..

How well do they honor the warranty ?? and how quickly do they respond to e-mails ??

New to medicating with edibles and the decarb process before usage in baked products ..

Welcome, Friend!

I've owned three units now for about a year. I haven't had a single failure. Neither have the some two dozen I've purchased as gifts for friends, family, and patients. That's not to say there aren't failures. They just aren't as widespread as you may have been led to believe.

The thing you have to realize is that most consumers who are satisfied just carry on and enjoy their product. Now, when things go wrong these same consumers are the first in line to express their negative feelings. Which makes it appear as though there are more issues than are truly present.

With all that said. Even if there were a high failure rate you would be hard pressed to find a replacement that does the stellar job that the Nova/Lift do and at such a low price point.

Best of wishes!

Wish they would give the additional discount ..

Well after getting the unit I ran the first batch of 1 gram of kief and a gram of very good bud ..

Took 1 hour and 45 minutes for the complete cycle with no smell at all .. That is till opened up .. I even waited for an additional 30 minutes to allow to cool .. Smell was minimal though and would be easily contained in a room if needed ..

Texture of the bud was changed .. not so much dried out as was more crumbly in texture .. only lost .1 gram of weight out of 2 grams of product .

Will try it in my coffee in the morning ..

Just adding my two cents to anybody on the fence....just buy it.

My unit has not only worked perfectly for a couple months now, but ive tried every other decarb with an ocd- Like precision to detail.ive bought oven thermometers as well as an IR to make sure the temp stays right and the only one thats close to the efficiency of the nova is the 240f for 40 min decarb tested by psychedelic sam over on grasscity.

I can't say for sure because tolerance changes and I havent tested side by side but there may or not be a bit more potency with the nova.regardless of that its worth the price tag just in the time ALONE it saves me from having to stand by the oven for 40 minutes.

To my surprise, saw that the 220v is finally available. I skipped getting the 110v in the summer, just hope that my discount code still works. Hopefully I won't have any problems as this is something I'd really like to recommend to some of the other patients I know. I know next to nothing about making medibles but I've been wanting to try it out for some time, hopefully I can get my unit before I have to renew my prescription.
