@Abysmal Vapor I think FJ was talking around $190 for the dual basic kit...

Do the natural wood colored Tubos have a surface treatment (like wax etc.)? A friend of mine has a laser cutter, I could take my unit to him for a unique engraving. Or just engrave it by hand myself. Once it arrives that is. I don't even have my Tubo yet, and I'm getting more and more hyped...

I got a natural poplar and there was no surface treatment, just raw wood. I've been buttering it up regularly with Ed's bomb ass butter I got from him when I had some stems made. Gives it a nice protective coating and stops the light wood getting dirty over time from grubby fingers

The Tubo has been doing nice things since its arrival Friday. Thanks @funkyjunky for this sweet little device that has blown me away and is really freaking spectacular. Pretty stoked about this one.
I was kinda bummed that it would not sit right on my FC-188. The battery box hit the edge and does not allow a proper seal. But that did get my other bubbler that has been feeling left out a chance to shine.

Holy shit. Cruise mode perched on a bubbler is pretty awesome. 390° then step up 10° a couple times till spent. :whoa:

The bent mouth piece is a thing of beauty too. I use the basket on that to hold the load in, like the stem is a huge elb. Me likey.
The matching whip and small mp will be research material during pre-game today.
Love the stealth of the all black unit.

Hey @funkyjunky I have a suggestion for the next time you make a firmware update.

I would like an easy way to change temperatures to kind of temp step.

If there was a mode where the temp could change with as few button presses and interruptions in vaping.

For now, you may want to bump up what each click does to the temp, I'm set to 5F, so two clicks gets a +10F step. I think you can go to 10F per click, but honestly, I don't know, and I've yet to upgrade out of shear laziness. It works great now, haven't felt the need!

But I will say, if that gets added, the thought of a session auto-stepping 10F once a minute would be heaven..... Or more likely turn me into a couch zombie :chill:

StormyPinkness

Rhymenocerous ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
base unit:
the price is $150 for the complete device in plain wood, one mouthpiece (short or long-straight/bent) with screens and a stirring pick and the whip-gift. coloring, $17. (free whip gift is no longer a feature)

additional purchasable items (see picture):
water pipe adapter, 18mm: $11
extra mouth piece short/long(not pictured): $8
extra basket screen: $2
screens 5-pack: $2
samsung 30q battery: $7 (max one)

The TUBOX is 100$ ,i dont know how much is the DUAL ?
You can see what the current tubo kit includes at http://tubo.lamart.ch/
I'm still hoping he'll sell some of those wooden bubbler bases in his pics. I would love to have one of these hexagon ones:

never wanted to beat that one ;)
Board temp raises really quick on high temps, when I am above 200C and tubo is warmed up I can get it to shut off in on big hit through board temp alone.
It really depends on the set temperature though, on lower temps like 170/180 it's not an issue even with hard rips.
Shuts off at 70C.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
hellohello,

all good in tuboland? :)

the warmup mode is maybe for the impatient ones or those that want full vapor from the first hit, especially at lower temps. or for the ones that try to one hit stuff :)

up next is probably temp stepping, lets see.

also i will try to get rid of the need for "edit" as one of the clicks. its not really something we use regularly i guess.

let me introduce the gecko tubo evic special edition:
WZKMThB.png

for now its a gecko, maybe in the future we can have custom edging as that was @vapen00b s original idea. permanent green and poplar one up for grabs. the beech one is mine

have a good weekend!

Great stuff my friend - turned out very cool! Nice to know you still had that in your mind :)
Would love me some edging one day for a future unit :)

Keep up the fantastic work. Impressed as always!

About the temperature, what I really like is the linearity of the setting. Means
Higher temp = higher board temp = higher battery drain = higher me :science:
And also draw time and speed seem to have very linear effects like cool down of board temp when pausing and so on.

Bent stem envy
An excellent title for an obscure prog electronica LP.. I'll go with 'Bent Stem Envy' by FJ and the Tubos..

A quick question for fellow Tubettes.. And apologies if I fall for an FC faux-pas again, I've searched for this, but lost the trail somewhere around page 35.. :sherlock::zzz:

Whatever happened to the suggestion of multiple clicks of the fire button taking you out of cruise..? Call me crazy, but I'd find it more intuitive if you could still adjust the temp whilst staying in cruise mode, and exit it by double clicking the fire button.. have we concluded that one before?

Loving the idea of temp step mode, and no edit. Having session, warm up and temp step on the clicks would be ace.. Every click's a winner..

I'm really liking the new bent stems I got from @cannabis.pro for my tubo. I only tried the tophat version, but so far those have been my favorites. I'm starting to enjoy the clink sound it makes when you hit it. Works well for people that don't like to grind too.

Not sure why but that bent stem totally vibes with this machine. Dig it!

I keep thinking about buying one of these. I really want a new flower vape to replace me dear old Volcano. Been planning on buying that damn Flowerpot but I'm so tempted to cut the cord...

Bent stem envy

Surely it looks better in the second pic though? Could it be lefty love? @GreenHopper what do you think :D

I have set all my clicks to cruise.. :D After all the target is to get it on.. I get so vaped,i can't count to 2-3 :D.. I really hated when it enters edit mod... instead of firing up,problem solved !Lately i am doing only gong packs,i feel like caps really rob some of the taste, adding a tiny bit of conduction to the experience, but also they can extract broader spectrum of goodies ,which results i more omph from the first hit, also vapor is instant !
@Padriano :D It would be nice name indeed.. I imagine something sounding like this https://archive.org/details/Siconauta :))

I too, wish for these things.

I'm not sure about the ability to do cruise mode with the temp buttons still being active but I'd really love for this if possible.

I do notice the draw sensor helps a lot with the "device too hot" msg, which was my one glaring issue. And for the sake of clarity, this would only happen on my SECOND full, joint-packed stem with NO breaks in between. 5 min, cruise to cruise, .25gram full joint-packs. The device does not overheat trying to do a .1g or .2g cruise in 5minutes.

Just saying. As I know from how frequently I mentioned this earlier it may have affected some people's perceptions of its actual frequency during REAL WORLD scenarios and not some dude vaping .5 in a session just to see.

edit:

if you leave the same battery in and just charge it via on-board charging, do what @Abysmal Vapor and I do, and just change all the clicks to cruise. lmao. fuck edit!

It only switches back to having "edit" in the clicks if you insert a new battery :)

Just got in on an order for a Tubo, super excited to hear back from @funkyjunky when it's ready. I've read every page of this thread, and feel like I've learned along with all of you, especially because I read the thread chronologically. Hope that I can help give back to this community with my own experiences when it arrives.

One thing that's been bugging me is trying to determine with my two Arizer Air OEM batteries, if they're compatible with the Tubo. Anyone have one that they've tried? I can't really seem to find out the stats of the battery anywhere, but will try it when the Tubo arrives anyway, in the name of Science :science:. I do have a couple of 25Rs and a VTC4 as well, so I think I'll have enough in any case to swap as much as needed.

I'm very interested in microdosing, but not too keen on using the basket packing method due to things dropping down in the heater. For those of you that microdose, what's been your preferred method as you've gained experience with the Tubo? I'm really liking the TopHat design, and the packing the joint method (long bent stem) with a rimmed screen cap (packing it really loosely). I'm also interested in a way to microdose with a bubbler, but don't have a lot of experience in that arena. Wondering if I should pick up one of the @DDave vapor coolers, or something else out there to get in on a little water action.

FC is an awesome community, I always like to take a second to thank people for making it what it is, so thank each of you for your contributions here.

I was feeling the same way @IckiestOfTheSticky when reading the whole thread chronologically, but there were less than 30 pages back then

I often use the double basket method because nothing falls out and it's easy to set up, prepare and change.
But packing the stem with not too much and pushing a rimless screen inside for compression works good too. You shouldn't grind to fine though as the rimless can have small gaps on the side.

Of course the double basket method increases conduction a bit but never had any problems with taste etc.
I don't have the tophat system because European shipping  But it seems interesting as well!

If you bubble you will always loose some of the extracts to the water but its not like small amounts wouldn't work ;)

The Tubo is my Honey Badger.
It don't give a Fuck what you put in it, it will vape the shit out of it. Ground up in the little basket for micro dosing, stuffed a big nug that filled the whole gong up, does not matter. Just has to get in its way.

Thank you for the support! We just put some more in-stock for anyone looking at 420EDC for them.
Ordered one of those 45° bent ones, a short one and a 3 pack of top hats. That's my kind of crucible. Easy. :brow:
