Discontinued Glass Symphony XLR

I need to take a break from the symphony. I did 1/8 in 3.5 days, that's A LOT for me. I might have gone through it quicker if the auber didn't have a shut-off timer. I'm not saying it's inefficient or anything, I just wanted to keep using it so I did. Vaping with it is enjoyable and I'm always tempted to load just one more. It's in my fun to use category that my sticky bricks used to be alone in. Taking it easy with concentrates for a day or 2 and then I'll see if I'm able to tear myself away from the symphony before the auber shut-off timer.

@StormyPinkness

I have the same problem with the GS... Except i have the RDK-200 so i can leave mine on for extended periods, always ready for a hit!
On weekends i usually turn it on when i wake up and shut it off before bed, usually 18 hours at least.
It's the best all glass log vape out there for those instant smashes to the head!

I have moved down from 950 to 925 with excellent results!
Also a few degrees can make a big difference and it is super easy to test!
Lower temp and take a few empty pulls to lower temp and test away!

You are correct in that the GS likes strong, deep pulls for maximum extraction in minimum time.
Slightly hotter temps like 950 do this very well!
925 also does it very well, you just have to alter your inhale.

Your use will level out after a month or so... It took me that long to get over it's perfection!

And if you are looking for an awesome grinder... Check out the New Vape Fine Grinder!!
Amazing piece of equipment!

EDIT:
Have to share this moment...
I was just thinking about loading the last bowl for the night and automatically started picking up my ground herb and loaded it into the grinder again...
Guess the GS does work quite well!!!

Tomorrow is going to a great day!!! Will share more tomorrow...

Well done for finding the courage to look forward and always be such a positive influence here, never failing to offer others support and advice. So I guess we owe you back?:hmm: Mmmm! How to get out of that one?

Just kidding, we are here for you bro. We are a caring community with a rich experience, good and bad. Thank you for sharing and wishing you total happiness (alright, 97% maybe. Got to be realistic!;))

The day we are 100% happy, we will ALL be 100% happy! Our consciousness is connected, so is it really a wonder, put like that, that we have such a hard time staying truly happy?! Not to mention our own daily rap!

Anyway, one day! And a new dimension (or two) if we're lucky. As long as they got ganja (or something better), then count me in!
@jojo monkey , please ship my Symphony to "Joyous Heights, Harmony Palace, Blissville, 5th dimension!" (Not yet though)

Apologies all. High as usual. Really loving my Think Different auto. Only 3 autos left oitside now, 2 weeks tops and all looking good, just shame we got so little sun since mid July but you would NEVER know from the buzz I am getting from all of the autos so far. And a nice variety too.

By the way Lazy I left a comment on your youtube video earlier, just so you know it was me.

Happy Sunday everyone. Can't wait to get some more delicious vapor into me. I really am spoilt for choice though. My options have been severely limited and very sub par for years.

Now in contrast, Ganja heaven!

It's hard for me to have so many new options. I almost can't enjoy it cos I wanna try everything out all the time!

Edit: Lazy, you can see clearly from Sanson's face what he is trying to say- "I'm not sure it is is good idea for ME to hit the Symphony Lazy. Please don't make me it looks kinda big for me!"

@StormyPinkness I am glad you are liking it (even if it is too much) and I am sure you'll find a balance. I think you had it less than a week when you wrote that post!

I would like to introduce Samson
What a picture perfect pup. Samson should be a smarty. Congrats!

Thanks for the great post with the GS info too.

A story told by some Native American peoples is that the Great Spirit decided to divide
the worlds of animals and man.
He gathered all the living beings on a great plain and drew a line in the dirt.
On one side of the line stood man and on the other side stood all of the animals of the earth.
When that line began to open up into a great canyon and at the last moment before
it became too great to cross, the dog jumped over and stood by man.

I always liked this story. I grew up in a household where both of my sisters were dogs.

Wishing for you, yours, and Samson a long healthy happy life...
Best wishes to you.

I just updated the holographic label to your new coordinates on the 5th plane. Beware, the GS can cause localized dimensional shifts.

It's very cool your personal thing ;) ended up the way you wanted. (glad there was no mold!)

@jojo monkey @Alexis

Thank you for your kind words!! They are really appreciated.

I am off work this week to get the house ready for sale, so the GS is going to be on all day, every day!
I am very excited as this will allow me a solid week of testing!!

I have been coughing a lot lately when vaping and it happens with any vaporizer, convection or conduction.
For today's first session i used some very strong Sunshine Pink and lowered the temp to 910 set, 900 actual. It usually sits at 901 and fluctuates to 902 every once in a while!
Settings are ROCK SOLID for me!

Vapor takes a bit longer to form but just as dense and flavorful!
Going to see how low i can go with great results!

You mean "posers that do it"! ;)
Speaking of...

Alright I finally did one that didn't make me cringe. Though my fingers get in the way holding the bowl and I jiggled the glass too much. Also took a 4th hit I didn't need, but otherwise I didn't hate this video. Still can't quite get as pretty of a shot of the bowl as some others.

*Disclaimer: This is using hand torn flower at 950f (935). For best results it's recommended you use tamped ground flower.

Sorry for the double post, can't edit.

I was failing at moderation with my symphony this weekend when I remembered @stickstones posting in the tubo thread awhile ago about using whole nugs. Put in a nug(s), hit it once or twice, do a quick hand crumble, then hit it again. Love doing this, I haven't used it any other way since.

First 2 hits have little to no vapor but are pretty tasty. Hand crumbling after that is super easy, easier than hand tearing little chunks. Put it back in with a light finger tamp and I get a giant cloud from that. One more medium sized cloud and it's dead. I usually stir and hit it one more time, never really need to though.

Loving this technique, a little too much maybe. I went through an 1/8 in 2.5 days, in my defense it was a 3 day weekend though.

Getting about ready to jump on board, but trying to figure out my setup before.

Ive read mason jars are an option for holding the heater, but do not need to hit the bottom. Would the 1/2 gallon size be large/long enough to prevent any potential contact?

Would anything else work better?

The raw rolling tray seems like a really good idea, but will laying this vape down like that damage it in anyway over time?

Has anyone tried the rimmed screen/eq baskets loaded with flower with a little concentrate cherry on top? I remember seeing a post that just concentrate took awhile, I'm wondering if just a little going through some flower would work.

Right now I'm using this one they recommended and it works well:

I've been keeping my eye out for something nicer, but I haven't seen anything that can handle how tall and top heavy it is. I have a few DIY ideas and I'm thinking about asking one of the fc wood guys if they'll make me something. Right now I use it on a dresser facing a wall, I'd love to somehow wall mount it without cooking paint.

I mentioned to Jojo that's the method I was using and he didn't seem to think it would pose any problems! I've been using mine with the tray nearly every day since I've recieved it and haven't had any issues yet.

For me if I got a stand when I'm done with the GS I'm still going to lay it on it's side when I put it away anyway. So in my mind it should be just fine to lay it down!

Admittedly it's not the prettiest of solutions, but I really like the security of it not being able to tip over. Also that rolling tray is something I just always have out for various vaping tools so when I put the GS away I'm not left with some stand I don't use for anything else.

Picked up 5 new strains at the dispensary last night!!
This means the GS comes out to really sample and test the flavors and effects of the bud!
I bought a range from $8/g to $15/G and they all taste amazing in the GS!
You can definitely tell the cheaper strains from the more expensive ones.
The vapor trails off much faster in the cheaper bud, density is slightly less but not by much.

An excellent day of testing strain profiles!

I guess a strain list would be helpful!

The 250ml could work. But so it's too light and has a small base. So you would have to fill it with sand, any liquid or whatever (GITD powder?) at least to give it more stability. But even in this case it could be dangerous cause of the high center of gravity of the GS and it's weight. Use better a 500ml or even more a 1l filled.

Been away from this thread for a while but testing and usage has continued!!
It's a beast and that is that, nothing more to really say...

Anyway i have been working on my basket adaption i showed earlier on.
With the original design there was always a cooler spot due to the metal handle disrupting the airflow.
I did not want to deviate from my EQ mod due to the ease of use and it's awesome micro dosing abilities!

Tonight was the night i perfected it!
Now it is 2 pieces and there is almost no metal to disrupt the airflow!
Instead of the long bit of metal used as a handle on the side of the EQ basket, i now have a small ring protruding just above the lip of the EQ basket. The handle is now a separate bit of metal with a hook on the end.
I lower the loaded bowl into the RooR bowl and press the edges down with a glass pick.
Rip at any speed you desire and it is ALWAYS an even ABV from top to bottom!

2 half packed bowls takes me over the limit very quickly!
Amazing vape!

Pics later... have to go BBQ steak for dinner now!

EDIT to add pictures!

I started getting uneven extraction and the edges started getting brown quicker than the middle. I noticed my screen was dirty and *did not* want to take it out to clean it because they are in there perfectly and I suck at screens. Luckily I have a little $20 ultra sonic cleaner and I was able to throw the whole bowl in a bag with some iso and clean it that way. A couple 2-3 minute cycles and the whole thing is good as new and extraction is perfect again.

I actually added a 18/18 bowl under the gs bowl to raise it higher and make it easier to lovingly stare at. I'd like it a little higher but I didn't have another bowl to raise it with. I'm looking for a 18/18 straight adapter if anyone has a link to one. I found one from ctechglass, but it's not very tall (30mm) and they don't make bigger ones in 18mm:

Taste on this thing is a double edged sword when your trying to vape free pre-rolls you got with your order. The "premium" one of them was kind of... bland? The other was just blarg. Like potpourri or something, and so flippin weak and light on vapor. Though since the first one was so weak I figured the "premium" one would be too and I put as much of it as I could into the bowl, pretty much filled it. Bland taste but holy hell was it a lot of vapor. The vapor wasn't hot at all, but it was so strong it almost felt like a hot vapor kind of burning.

Also realized yesterday other than using my herbailAire once or twice I haven't touched my other non-portable vapes since I got the symphony. I've seen other posters talk about VAS killers, I might have found mine. For desktops. I have one or two other vapes that compare, but the glass bowl always makes me want to use the symphony instead.

Speaking of glass bowl, I still want to find something to get it slighter higher to see better. I was thinking it also might be nice if it was a bit farther away from my eyes. I think I'm going to get both of these to try, otherwise I think I'll just get a new bubbler that is already shaped how I want.

I have no idea why I didn't think to try a whip before, even after seeing the great video @Prolusio did. Works perfectly and you can be as far or as close to the bowl as you need. @Prolusio was that an extra long tubo whip? I tried mine but it was a little too short so I went with some silicone tubing I had.

I wear contact/glasses and I'm embarrassed to say I never thought to try to look at the bowl without them. Bowl is laser focused in my sight now, absolutely perfect. My eye sight is pretty bad so everything farther than the glass is blurry. So literally everything but the bowl is out of focus, it's just me and the green. I want to raise it up still, but I shouldn't need it farther away.

Thinking I needed it farther away last night I tried this (please ignore the dirty glass, it's getting a bath this weekend):
IMG_20170921_185219.jpg

It made my glass a little less stable so I think I want to stick to straight extensions for the symphony.
It had a little attachment on the bottom to collect reclaim I had to take off to make it fit and at first I kind of liked using it like a carb hole, but it was a pain after a while. I think I'm going to get this guy for $10:

Thanks for the compliments! That was just the regular length Tubo whip in my videos. I agree a little longer would be ideal, but it works pretty good. Gives you a really good view of the GS and makes it easy to have both hands free. I also find it easy to get a good hard draw with the smaller diameter tube; thought it would interfere but I didn't find it any worse at all to get the optimal air flow.

Still been using the GS nearly daily since I got it. I don't typically use it as my "session" vape; I leave it on stand-by for when I really need to feel the effects of my herb. Saves my tolerance and my stash . But the GS is the first vape I use when I get home and usually the one I use to cap my night off (unless it's time for dabs, which I've been digging a lot lately)

It's also not my typical session vape because sometimes I'm just in the mood for vaping for the sake of vaping.. and the GS is not a toy for casual play. It is a true vaping tool. The GS is here to kick ass and vape nugs. It doesn't waste time with flavour hits and warm up bowls; it crashes through your wall of bad vibes like a vapour powered kool-aid man. Immediate, brain tingling, face warming hits from the first draw.. Love the way the GS always delivers.

Prolusio, I have been meaning to say also that I thought your video was excellent. It was incresibly easy to watch and listen to, you are clearly so chilled and relaxed which is always nice to see!:)
And the lighting and background colour was also very nice. And you definitely made me want the Symphony a big step more, just by seeing co clearly howneasybit was to draw such large clouds, so quickly through the narrow whip, with seemingly little lung power.

This is something I definitely prefer in a vaporizer, ease of inhalation. Many vaporizers can really feel like hard work, a very long time sucking over many minutes to get medicated. It often wears me out, my allergies have already done that by the time I have brushed my teeth, so I really like vaping to be an easy affair.

The Symphony does look like the kind of vaporizer that you could spend vefy little time actually using and still be as medicated as you need night and day.

If correct, this is what I really need in a vaporizer. Both my Omnivap and XL Herborizer require fairly long, protracted sessions- I have a reasonable tolerance, and often can find it a drag to get to my level.

With the Vapcaps, for me, a full bowl, which is probable 0.06-0.08 for most people's herb, it us very hard to extract that small amount in 2 equal smooth draws. It is afine line to sail to push it, with some guesswork each time. The hits can easily come out hot and harsh, or worse.

I would love the vapcaps so much more if it was easier to more consistently extract all in 2 hits max, keeping it consistently smooth and cool each time.

The GS looks perfect to play with settings, and get the exact hit you want every time. And I have zero doubt that the vapor quality is so superior, and surely also far healthier and purer, than vapcap vapor.

Am I selling it? You can keep hold of my commisions for the moment @jojo monkey , just deduct it of my Symphony soon!;)

No joke I am very interested. I need a better vapirizer that can work better for me as I have described above. I have been so torn as to where to set my sights, between the Flowerpot and Symhony. But I would be a fool not to choose the Symphony. With the all glass, neutral polarity purity, it has the best chance of me tolerating the vapor well.

The Flowerpot with its super hot titanium parts will surely be very similar to my Herborizer Ti which I just couldnt tolerate due to being to aggravating for me.

Maybe it is the extremely hot metal that makes certain vaporizers more allergenic to me, if Mark McCoy from Vriptech is right about the metal surfaces creating a charged polarity which is more aggravating to the respiratory tract (compared to glass), then this could certainly offer some clues?

Regardless, I really have to try the all glass path out don't I?
When I (alright, superstitiously, gullibly ) consult the oracle cards (which acutally come out with the most spooky, uncannily accurate and relevant shit all the time)- I have asked about how the Flowerpot would work with my allergies and vaporizer intolerances.

I never got any encouragement. I wanted it, like "Yes Alexis, this vaporizer is PERFECT for you- your vape dream, perfect for your allergies and medicating requirements."

Except that cars doesnt exist! Something like "Go forward fearlessly", or "A favourable outcome" would havs done.
Instead I kept getting "Take your time making this decision", and "It's time to leave this unhealthy situation". (Meaning my VAS obsession with the Flowerpot in the target line, as in "Stop thinking abour the Flowerpot and move on.")

When I dont get the answer I want I always ask again (and again), like a damn fool not wanting to accept the truth. When I keep getting the same message again and again I finally get the message and I give up.
So then I asked about the Symphony and all I get in contrast is positive encouragement.

I'm doing some great work on my health currently to recover from long-term illness. I have finally cleared my lyme disease infection after 12 years plus. I'm also doing a series of electricity treatments to drastically reduce my long-term chronic and multiple respiratory infections, which is really paying off because I have the best chance I have had yet of actually being well sometime soon. I just have to keep my head together and do things correctly and not make any stupid mistakes now and I should be able to make fantastic progress.

So this is the priority at present working on my health and this routine of treatment. So I'm not quite chomping at the bit for my next great vaporizer to arrive just yet, but I still really can't wait to initiate the action.

And right now after serious umming and arring, I am fairly confident that's the Symphony is the best choice for me and something I feel very positive and excited about.

A massive thank you to all of the reviewers so far for taking the early leap to be involved and sharing your experiences.
@StormyPinkness I am really pleased to see you are enjoying your symphony so much. Thank you for sharing all of your experiences so far in the most honest and straightforward manner. I feel you on the glasses and visibility issue and how it plays into vaping. When using my D020 D bubbler, I have to always look underneath my glasses to see the vapor. It's okay with the vapcap, but with a log vape on top much closer to my face, it is a bit awkward.

Okay all done. Just sharing ideas and feelings really. Everyone have a real nice weekend, Bigup!

Dude! What a statement! Think i'm sold now! When you say nugs though, is that just in reference to herb in general, or can the GS really crush intact nugs like the Supreme?

The Flowerpot with its super hot titanium parts will surely be very similar to my Herborizer Ti which I just couldnt tolerate due to being to aggravating for me.

Dude! This! My only hesitation with the GS is due to my clumsiness and easy ability to break, but my hesitation with the FP is exactly that - I fear a feeling similar to the sublimator. I don't know how to describe it, but it felt almost erosive to my lungs, and I could tell it would those hot metal surfaces. No issues with my aluminum supreme though, but that's a different softer metal?

Maybe it is the extremely hot metal that makes certain vaporizers more allergenic to me, if Mark McCoy from Vriptech is right about the metal surfaces creating a charged polarity which is more aggravating to the respiratory tract (compared to glass), then this could certainly offer some clues?

Absolutely!
