Haven't completely read all the way through this thread but I searched through briefly to see if there was already a similar tip and couldn't find anything:

I find that I get a very clear amber oil that builds up on the screen from the mouthpiece assembly, which will then start to collect avb dust and clog if not cleaned for many sessions. I've started taking one of the extra fine screens from the Herbalizer and pressing it down on top of each bowl I pack. Filing it slightly allows for a tight fit each time. This screen stays close enough to the heat that it doesn't build up any oil residue, and it prevents anything from sticking to the oily screen. Then when you've emptied your avb you can either scrape off a very fine reclaim dab (which I do at home) or crack it up to red and run it dry without the herbie screen to vaporize the remaining res (which I do at the office). I've done this successfully for months as my daily portable without ever needing a proper cleaning or seeing performance drop. I recently lost my trusty Fenix so it's no longer my daily, but I've yet to find a better combination of affordability, thick quick vapor, and low maintenance at heavy use. The loss is going to give me a chance to compare it to the world of butane vapes though, which is where I think my journey will venture next.

I realize this is quite similar to the herbie concentrate pad tip, but this still allows me to have a fully packed bowl, and every speck of bud counts when you're away from your desktop. :)

Been doing the same thing pretty much. I just "domed" a reg SS screen and it fits and stays on the stock screen, tucked in to blue gasket. Sometimes it falls off or magnet grabs it( looked for it for ten minutes one day, gave up, it was on magnet....). Love this vape. Had it for 8 mos heavy use no problems. I also do a " burn off" on red before use(always red) to burn off crumbs/resin that falls through bottom bowl screen. What an awesome cheap reliable vape. I bought mine locally based on FC reviews, super happy. Thanks FC! Cheers, D.

I just received my Edit Convector today in the mail. I took off the Bottom and was prepared to remove the glue that they put on the wrong side of the air intake. But it wasn't needed. It looks like they fixed the problem on the newer models.

Love this thing with a glass mouthpiece as noted. I wonder if you can use it while it is charging? Anyone?

I wonder if this vape and the Fenix version of it received the updates that healthy rips claims only the Force got.

how long is the warranty?

It's 1 year. But the problem is they make you send it to the U.K. for repair or replacement. I bought one 3 weeks ago and then it died on me. I filed a RMA and now they want me to send it to the U.K. for repair. If I had known that I would have just bought it direct from china or just bought the Healthy Rips version since they are based in the USA. I will never buy from everyonedoesit again.

Hello, need help from any fenix owners

I am going to receive my edit convector on thursday as kind of an experimentation vape. I am wondering if anybody has tried using a CFV wooden ring or any other isolation material to make the vape more convection style? I also am considering using an extreme q basket screen for the top of the pack to load a small amount above the chamber to reduce conduction effect. Has anybody tried either or is able to try the fitting?

Thanks!

I tried the EQ basket screen but the mouthpiece doesn't go back on due to the lip on the screen, it would probably work though if you removed the lip.

Im going to mess around but that seems promising. Maybe a smaller O ring on the mouthpiece part that seals on the chamber would help. It would be nice to keep the lips since it keeps it in place and presumably elevated over the bottom of the chamber which would isolate a lot of heat.

my fenix recently fell down on the street while biking, with me scratching the boy half a metre along the ground with my front tire, the thing looks rigged now.showing it's silver body under the rubbery plastic.

also the soft-plastic is starting to brittle on the cap, releasing a standard plastic case.

all in all the thing still runs like usual and seems actually more durable than a mighty.

what I found is, how convectiony this thing is. If you got dark ABV and you put it on 215°C and rip it really hard you can still get a lil output. slow soft draw like on the solo won't work in that way.

For context, I use a DBV at home and love it; I bought a DC gen 2 herb atomizer and it's tricky to use with middling results. I want something for travel or the rare occasion that I vape away from home.

Not even close to the same thing. I own it and a swift pro.
If you had a choice between these two, what would you pick?

After a lot of time getting to know this thing, my favorite way to use it is to squeeze in a whole nug so that it fits tight. Pop it out after 1 round, flip it upside down, and take a few more tokes on high to finish it off. ABV nugs pop out easy and it leads to way less cleaning vs ground bud.

Got the glass mouthpiece in and it's a big improvement in flavor. Definitely worth the investment!

Unless you crush/grind, you risk leaving some goodness in the heart of those nuggs.
