I have already contacted them directly and hope to hear from them tomorrow. I would think i have to send it to Vaposhop in The Netherlands, not all the way to Canada

But I have no doubt this will be resolved proffessionally, still sucks big time to send something in!

That makes sense. I never thought about the fact that you don't live in North America. No doubt Arizer has made provisions for this scenario. Hope you get your replacement unit quickly.

And yes, it does suck to have to send a unit back. I can completely relate to how you are feeling.

The best of luck, my friend. It should get resolved quickly.

Good thing i have some support of the family... Solo 1 and Air are always ready to comfort me! :D

Is there true retirement for a Solo?
It can fall, get busted, broken, stolen, lost or just die a natural death, but retirement?

I can't imagine someone having his Solo standing on his/her bookshelf never to be touched again. Or it has to be a full-blown shrine for the Mighty Lord Arizer!

It's never at a full charge or empty. OG goes on the charger when the battery indicator is around level 2 or 3. I charge it to 30 minutes into level 7 or so.

It maybe gets use once or twice every 3 weeks. I will store it when the battery is around level 6.

Hey folks, question, what size gongs do I need? I'm getting brave and going out into the bong world. Also, what size mm bongs should I be looking for, and IF someone could explain this male to felmale, female to female, etc stuff, I'd appreciate it. IM confused I do have the 14mm and 18mm on the way from PIU. Will I need anything else?

@Maine420 I'll give it a go.

The 14mm and 18mm you have on the way are perfect. They will be male.

The water pipe could be 14mm or 18mm. If it's female you won't need anything else.

Your male gong will fit into the female water pipe.


However if you order a male water pipe/bong you will need another adapter as your male gong won't fit into a male bong.

A bong, either with a 14mm or 18mm joint.

Female bongs for male joints, and male bongs for female joints.

So in your case, a bong with a female joint - either 18 or 14mm to fit the gongs you've purchased from PIU.

The female joint receives the male one. It is wide enough to allow the male to fit in snugly to form a seal. It tends to have a lip at the top, while male joints are linear. Also the ground glass is on the inside of the female joint and the outside of the male.

No, there are adapters to change size and/or gender as needed, like these:

Time was when telling male from female was easy and obvious to any adult looking at it. Males fit into females.......as has been traditional for a very long time. Now, I guess, we have situations say where what most would consider a male identifies with female........ In GonG connectors it doesn't work much better on that assumption than we see happening in the news. I suggest you stick with traditional gender definitions here. The GonG adapter you buy from Ed, PIU, or wherever will be male based on that system. Plan on a female WT or a F/F adapter. If sizes don't match (say a 14 and 18mm situation) adapters will fix it as well

On that topic, I think inanimate objects like our Arizer Solo II's often make much more common/logical sense than many humans these days.

Think the separation is tough on you? Consider it from the Solo's POV........

It's shut up somewhere in some cold dark evidence locker with the most unsavory company imaginable and you're out walking the streets free?

Count your blessings. And look forward to the eventual replacement, By most measures it's gotten better.......

So Arizer got back to me, after some emails. The error codes "represent possible battery, power supply, or circuitry issues."

I guess the powerstrip it was in gave it something to heavy which caused my error. Yesterday turning on the fan on my desk made my USB-hub restart (all of which shared the powerstrip with my Solo 2 charger). I got some advice from Arizer tho.

To avoid problems like this from occurring in the future you should try to do the following things:
  • use a surge protected power bar when charging your Solo unit
  • when you are done charging your Solo unit ALWAYS unplug the charger from the outlet / power bar (DO NOT leave the charger plugged in unnecessarily)
  • take care with your Solo unit; avoid dropping it or knocking it into anything, and always set it down lightly
  • store your Solo in a temperature controlled environment. long-term exposure to extreme temperatures can potentially damage the battery and / or circuitry
