Cannabis Hardware (formerly NewVape) FlowerPot Twax Vaporizer

lazylathe

Almost there...
I am very happy with my decision to start vaping and choosing the flowerpot as the first vape i ever bought. This past weekend i went to a friends house to celebrate a friends up coming move to CO. I didn't bring my flowerpot because there were gonna be a lot of people and i did not want to sit there or be worried people were gonna mess it up. After a beer or two i decided to pack a bowl in a glass spoon and took a rip. EWWWWWWWWWWW i spit on the floor and right away accused the owner of the glass of smoking tobacco out of the pipe, which he denied. I changed bowl and it was still there.I came home and was still baffled on why it tasted horrible. I took a rib out of my bong (combusted again) and it tasted like doo doo also. Anyways FUCKCOMBUSTION!

All i need is a TI washer/spacer and id be a tad bit happier but even then it doesn't matter at this point if i could be refunded 100% id say no.

Happened to me too bro!
Used to be a heavy smoker for almost 20 years, always thought it tasted like burning grass...
Had a few strains that tasted nice on the first puff, then back to nasty!

Once i hit a vape i was amazed!
What i had been missing for the past 20 years was just discovered!
Healthier, beautiful vapor!

I will still occasionally hit a joint or pipe if i am out but one hit is all it takes to convince me to step away...

The FP is a great tasting vape that produces copious clouds!
Have you tried the EQ basket screen mod?
Even better full convection hits!!

I was going to try your 2 coil method this weekend but unfortunately my dhgate flat coil doesn't fit around the center post. I didn't get why yours fit and mine didn't, but looking at your pics I think you have the opposite setup. An auber flat coil and dhgate barrel coil.

I'm probably going to order a new flat coil for my auber, but I'm not sure if my dhgate controller/pid will run it. My auber can't run my dhgate coil, it just says hot or something anytime I plug it in.
All three of my coils are from dhgate, but the flat coil is oldest and seems a bit different. It has different sheathing around the cable, is about a foot longer, and the metal-sheathed coil part is a different color than the others. I have a current model flat coil on the way, now I'm wondering what else may be different.

@NewVape710 I was getting ready to purchase a FP kit when I noticed that the controller and coil bundles you offer aren't 240V compatible. I live in a 240V country and would really appreciate some advice on alternative 240V controller and coil combo's you'd recommend for use with the FP.

I did find the Auber RDK-200A / RDK-300A which are rated to 240V but their bundled coil options only mention 120VAC. I assume this means these coils won't be compatible when the Auber controller is run at 240V? Edit: 240V coils are available as an option.

On a completely different topic, the new designs look very interesting. Do you have a roadmap you can share regarding when updated revisions of the FP might hit the market?

@anyone There are two retaining nut options when purchasing the D-Nail SiC Halo. Would this nut be used when mating the FP with the Halo? If so, should I pick 120V or 220V retaining nut option?

Also, does anyone know whether the current NV Lollicap design fits the D-Nail SiC Halo dish properly? Would I be better off with the D-Nail carb cap or some other carb cap with this dish?

EDIT: Postman arrived... This is what I received. Tastes INCREDIBLE -

I had no idea such things existed in Blighty, and above board no less! Does CBD extract really do anything besides taste good? I've read it's supposed to be calming and help with aches and pains. Any recommendations aside from the OG Kush?

While I hope New Vape has a solution for you, as I think they are a great company of people with great products, I wonder about this and suggest you contact Auber CS and make an inquiry. I'm not at all sure that input voltage isn't stepped down to use the same coils as for 120V.

I dunno, and you are probably right, but Auber does have good and accurate CS in my experience with them.

Thanks, I'll contact Auber, too. I thought the coils might always be fed 120VAC regardless of controller input voltage but I couldn't see where the output voltage of the controller specified this which made me wary. It's good to try and get things right first time when dealing with international purchases in order to avoid additional shipping expenses... and electrical fires. :)

@wibbleplonk and @Baron23

Just checked the Auberins page and found this:

Note 1: For international customer outside of North America, a 220V heating coil can be provided. Please leave a note for the 220V heating coil when placing the order.

http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=45&products_id=484
Ugh, I'm an idiot. I downloaded and looked through the user manuals yet somehow missed this staring me in the face.

Thanks for pointing it out!

Before I pull the trigger, are there any 240V controller / coil combos people would recommend over the Auber units?

I've been moving up in temp I was at 700 moved up to 720 than 730 and now I've settled on 745 coil temp. This allows me to clear a dab and flower in 2 hits at the most and almost no vapor trail from the dab.

Chinese slyme Dino rig, flower pot filled with $100 OG kush , dabbing on the real deal OG kush (no cross, no bs) = shangri-la

Love it. No real issues, but heres some random thoughts/details/brain throw up...

If I had more money, I'd have got the slightly more expensive Auber I think, minimal differences tho. And at some point I'm going to get one of NewVapes coils and re-solder it to work with the Auber, only because the coil fit looks like theres more contact and I'm intrigued to see if I can notice the difference. But its in no way a priority and in no way a thing I need to do. Auber controller gets big thumbs up so far.

I did a tiny bit of coil reshaping on my Auber coil to get a bit more contact top and bottom, was minimal tho and only took one small pair of pliers. The SiC dish was bigger than where Auber had put the first bend so I straightened it out slightly to get more of the coil touching the dish. Auber coil still gets a big thumbs up so far.

It was working great before I did that, its working great now. I havent combusted and I havent broken any thing :)

Very pleased with the FP. Every time I turn it off, I want to turn it back on and use it some more.

(altho, FWIW, and this isnt really based on much, but considering all the above... if it werent for me wanting to keep options open and be able to use other coils from other manufacturers (something I'm not entirely convinced I'm ever actually going to do), I'd have bought everything in one go from NewVape).

The FP itself is fucking awesome :D

NewVape's lollicap carb cap gets a big thumbs up from me too.

You have the RDK-200A and would have gotten the RDK-300A in hindsight? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything, very new here!

NV does 240V coils? Do you have to specify at checkout like with Auber or something? I'm happy to re-solder for compatibility with the Auber, although I suspect this would then require tinkering within the Auber controller's advanced preferences to calibrate the 3rd party coil.

The SiC dish was bigger than where Auber had put the first bend so I straightened it out slightly to get more of the coil touching the dish.
Did you get the NV SiC dish? I was looking at the D-Nail SiC Halo since the lead times on NV's SiC dish appear to be unknown, but confused about whether the latest NV Lollicap will fit nicely or I should pick up D-Nail's universal carb.

Great to hear! Glad you're enjoying it. Thanks for the detailed write-up, btw. Very helpful!

Was hoping to do the same but electrical incompatibility and lack of stock are forcing me to look for certain bits elsewhere.

I appreciate the improvements which Edwyn suggested. But IMO there are more important - and easier to realize - things to handle when watching a lot of posts and discussed probs here:

1. Build a coil heater which is perfectely shaped for the FP like Augusthaus did it for the CCA ligers.
2. Offer two versions of XLR. One for your own controller, one in a common D-Nail connection style.
3. Offer finally 240V versions of your coil and controller for all your international customers!

Kinda, its not a hindsight thing, I was just cutting costs any where I could to make up for postage/customs charges taking things out of my budget range. As it turns out, Auber put a very low value on the package without me asking and it sailed through customs without charges.

I honestly thought they did! But I cant see mention of it any where now. I thought I'd seen mention of making sure it was requested at check out, but maybe I'm getting it mixed up with Auber. First enail purchase, the whole thing was a bit confusing :D

Yes, NV SiC dish. I cant answer your other questions I'm afraid, saw this tho (bit at the bottom, which you've probably already seen. Looking at the image, the shallower dish appeals to me tbh)...

Man i just love this thing , i was able to take some dabs the other day using the lollicap for a perfect seal at 585F using the Dnail Sic dish. I did a 10 minute preheat , everything was super tasty and i got pretty much no pooling , granted these were not huge dabs and about the size of a BB but a few did the job. The lollicap is a better fit than my new Karl Termini Carb cap i just got but both work well.

Yes yes! I tried upping the temp last night back to where I started a month ago, I did not enjoy it! :D

580 -620 is my go to temp range for sure.

Excellent that the lollicap fits the dnail sic dish!

Agreed, particularly about coil connector and pin outs.

Another agreement here.

Haha Different strokes for different folks and the flowerpot can accommodate us all!! I tried going down to 620 to vape just flowers last night took two hits and turned it back up to 745.

Yes and yes! :)

I took a month temp stepping down to 580, 10 or 20 degrees at a time. When I first got the FP, I wasnt happy with the lower temp hits at all and was up at 710 to start with. Also did some coil fiddling and obviously theres other differences to take into account. Have you checked what your actual temps are with a digital thermometer? I've got one but still havent got round to it :)

I have a very slow draw and very flakey lungs as well tho :)

EDIT: Just checked. 600f on the controller is around 470 - 490 in the SiC dish, which would suggest I still have a little wiggle room to go slightly lower I think?

Amazing, thanks for confirming the Lollicap fits the D-Nail SiC Halo!

Wow, I've been staying around 550 on my sic dish thinking I was doing low temp dabs. Sounds like I could be going much lower, I'm looking forward to trying.
