Any tips on removing the batteries once they've been installed in the portside? hehe sounds simple but damn mine are really stuck in there and I don't want to be poking and pushing to hard against the computer chip board that is behind the batteries.

Whew! I got one out. Two to go but wow, it's a pain to remove for me. Maybe include a ribbon to make removal easier.

Got them out with some small nicks on the 18650 wraps. Time to re-wrap bummer. Please delete my triple post @Stu

Removing the cells should be a very rare occasion. They should be at home there until they die. Which hopefully, won't be for at least a couple years.
After that, it's :rip: for them anyway.
Just getting the first one should be a little hard, the next two come easier as you can get down the sides better. :science:

Yep, I'm making sure I put a new set in and set and forget it. I initially threw two lgs and a 30q to test it out. What a nice addition when I don't want to torch. Still working on how many seconds past the click to get the type of extraction I get that matches the torch experience.

Well so far this thing rocks! I was in no way expecting it to work so fast. Very convenient to have.

Still got to work out some technique or timing issues. I get good extraction but it seems I either get small hits with more even cooking or large hits with uneven cooking. I remembered seeing something about having a gap between the material and cap but still seems to do it. Going to really give it a good go before I start monkeying with it. I wouldn't say it's even bad now...just could get a little more even I think.

All in all, one of the most surprising vaporizer accessories I've bought. Very pleased with it.

Edit: except that silicon holding the magnet on lol seems way too gooey (maybe it's just heat down here lol). Any suggestions or just some hot glue gun or silicon?

It is gooey indeed. It's a doubled sided gooey tape. Although it can be easily removed and feels like it's floating, it also makes it easy for the user to change out as some prefer the diametric magnets. Then again, this batch has square magnets, so the pull is centered like the diametric round ones.
Has anyone used the jarhead in the car via a power invertor?
I just think it's weird changing 12 volts to 120 volts AC, just to change it back to 12 volts..? Just run a fused wire to the fuse box like one would for a power amp. Just leave the end with a standard DC plug on it close to where the JH would reside.
If using a invertor it should be at least 100 watt unit that is a true sign wave.

Ok, after a lot of testing  I can confirm, the file modded stainless steel tip is better. I swapped it out in my nonavong and the difference in the vapor is noticeable. The Jarhead II is a beast and the M's tip is perfect for it. The ti tip is finicky with my heater and in my honest opinion, is still better with a single flame torch. Think this might be more of my technique but I am going to add a preheat stage to see if it helps with the ti tip.
I was consistently creating clouds with the M and got very evenly cooked abv. I did need to sand the little plug in there a touch but after that, the M really got comfortable in there.

Maybe better to say YOUR file modded M (SS) tips work better than YOUR Ti tips for YOU?

I prefer the Ti tips with PortSide and have found the SS M tip to be a bit more difficult to work with. Figure there is at least a little bit of variation between specific units, and maybe more from model to model. This before we even get into vaping preferences.

Have no doubts that your set up as described is what you like best, but maybe not a full confirmation for all or the perfect way to go. Certainly doesn't seem the best for me.

FWIW, my Ti tips work great with 1 - 1 1/2 seconds past click on cold VC, and right at click once warmed up. ABV is evenly cooked. For last hit (4th or 5th with loosely loaded VC) to get all I can and make ABV coffee brown, I do a quick stir and go back to 1 to 1 1/2 second past click. Has been working great for a couple weeks! My filed M/SS tip seems trickier to work out heating, and more inconsistent. YMMV

3 things I've noticed since using only Skeletor with M ti tip closed carb---- 1. Finally able to get a true choke you out bong rip(without over toasting). I don't have the best bubbler, (10 mm male joint gas station wax rig)but with skel I can whitewall her and it chokes me out. Never got such reliable consistency with the torch. 2. Low temp flavor hits. This skeletor unit makes it SO much more user-friendly to dial in just exactly how terpy or toasty or bodyslammy you want your puffs.. Finally get it and can reliably get low temp tasty hits using timing. 3. Carb options: I really preferred closed carb- O rings set up because I wanted the fullest blast, same when I got ti tip. Now with more precise heat control I've been loving using the awesome carb feature... 4: Buy a Pipes Induction Heater and it's like buying your vapcaps again and getting awesomely re acquainted with them in another more stoned dimension. Peace! Cheers!! D.:nod:

Hey Pipes!

Haven't posted in a while. I built my induction heater, then it got stolen out of my car (thief was probably confused as fuck), so I finally built my 2nd one!

One question though, can you show me where to hook up the battery gauge? I connected it to the BMS PCB positive and negative, but it was showing my batteries fully charged when I knew they were not.

My Induction Heater is off out on loan later this month while I get some Spanish sun, beer, food and take a T break.

The guy who's borrowing it can be a bit 'big girls blouse' about things so I've put it into an enclosure.

It's all made out of offcuts and has got worm holes and a crack and various other bits which, as we Brits say, are 'rough as fuck' but it's all tucked away and it's helped me rethink how to go about it next time.

Sumac with Padauk stripes with Cocobolo top and bottom.

So, admittedly, i put the tiniest layer of kief, sandwiched between 2 layers of flower.. but...

22.. thats right.. twenty-freaking-two.. hits from a vapcap M, that produced vapor.

This was over the course of 3 sessions, 10 hits per.. the 3rd session was dissapointing, but the first 2 had me silly. 2 hits into the 3rd session.. the bowl was done. And so was i...

So am i...

Thanks @Pipes
