I tried to make edibles by soaking the dirty stem in Vitamin D milk (whole milk) and brought it up just to boiling and then turned the stove off and set the stem inside for a minute or 2 and it cleaned the reclaim from the stem very well. But unfortunately the bottom of my cooking pot burned and stained from the milk. Anyway to prevent this?

I am going to purchase this small loaf pan on Amazon because I want to use as little milk as possible. Dont want to drink a quart of milk each time like you get when you use a normal small kitchen pot.

First, don't bring it to a boil, that will seldom work out well no matter what you are cooking with dairy. If you have a handheld digital cooking thermometer, bring it to about 195-200 Fahrenheit, 93-95 Celsius.

Also, a Pyrex measuring cup (they come in all sizes) in a microwave works also. After bringing the milk to temp, you can sit the Pyrex in a simmering bath of water to maintain temp. Remember, the good stuff is already decarboxylated from vaping, you're just using heat, fat and liquid to emulsify the resin.

Bottom line, good cooking technique, and learn your chemistry. The results are absolutely lovely.

UPDATE: Its been 2.5 hours since I drank the magic milk. I dont feel much, just a twinge of body sedation so far.

I would rate it an overall 2 out of 10 so far. I hope this works better soon. This would be my second attempt at trying to use homemade edibles.

I will go easy on you @baxter !
ABV? I hate to make oil with it.
2TBL spoons ABV OIL or 1st grade concetrate.
1 cup OIL mix and put through a
Coffee filter.

Bake with this oil and you will get MEDICATED
Changed to a FC UFO to mix it up (testing)

It is now 5 hours in and it seems that I PEAKED around a "Level 3 out of 10" and now feel almost no effects at all.

Maybe my body just doesnt respond to edibles. Well anyways next time I try it I am going to do a TRIPLE dose. A dose 3x stronger than Jerry Garcia would require.

Wish I could try edibles from a real dispensary but not in this illegal state I am in.

The MAUI WOWIE is weaker in strength.
However the FLAVOR is CIRTUS PINEAPPLE/ORANGE.

For reading I like it.

Don't boil milk but shimmer it on lowest setting, going to need to add a teaspoon of fat like butter or coconut-butter

I personally boil all my stems and gong's for some effect and I got some killer effects

2 new years ago I went out only armed with 1 liter of homemade coco milk and drank it with ice cubes like a white Russian or a black one actually

I generally run some hemp fiber though my stems if they are well and truly dirty and then vape the reclaim off of the hemp.

In any case, I put the stem in a zip lock bag and put in a little bit of ISO. With the bag, I can much less ISO than if soaking in some sort of container (do the same with marinating steaks).

I gave up on the idea of soaking all of my stuff in the same container of ISO and then purging it for vaping. I just don't find, in my case, that its worth the risk and expense to purge ISO and then vape it.

So, soak in little ISO in zip lock and then toss.

I will try the milk idea that @CarolKing brought up. Sounds like making Cano Bag Milk. :-)

Is it harmful to vape a cotton ball that was used to wipe down the stem?

I notice that if I vape it at 7.5 (dry stem) it smells and tastes like I am burning the cotton. I have never tried hemp fiber as a wipe

Chilling with the Blackwood stem by @Ed's TnT for my Nano. This thing is pretty awesome in looks and hits like a freight train. So when I start losing the handle on these glass stems, Im gonna be ready and can continue to Nano. Great addition to the Nano stem collection with a nice size and feel to it as well. I wouldn't mind a glass stem a little closer to this size.

@SloJimFizz - I see you have some bands over your rheostat as do I and many others.

My one complaint about Epic is that after seeing what owners need to do to weight the power cord (so it doesn't slide off the table and take the log with it) and fix the temp setting in place so it doesn't inadvertently change, you would think that they would have offered an improved power cord/control by now (you listening @ACE OF VAPE). LOL

I say this because procuring and selling a better cord/control than this should be eminently doable with little to no impact on price.

If we are all doing it, then Epic should beat us to the punch and eliminate the need. See what I'm saying??

@Baron23 You make aftermarket cord and see if it is moneymaker.

The cotton won't hurt you but if you used ISO and not everclear it can be harmful. Just let any ISO evaporate completely.

I use cotton as a medium for wax and shatter all the time. I've used cotton as a spacer as well to help fill a large oven but not with the Enano. When going 7.5 and above you can get combustion. Reclaim oil isn't that tasty when re-vaping. The wax and shatter you buy does taste way better.

I agree and I was concerned that I might be "smoking cotton" basically when it all turned brown and the taste of the hit is harsh and unpleasant.

For now I have just been soaking it in ISO and using the same liquid over and over again. I see the reclaim starting to collect at the bottom in the ISO soak bottle

Man, making me feel bad cause I dont save or reclaim shit. I tried saving the ABV but that adds up and then on the go am I supposed to carry an abv catcher then too? So I quit trying. Dirty stems are tossed into a ziploc with 91% ISO and cleaned and then the Iso gets dumped.
@Baron23 I'm ok with the power supply as is, the temp control isnt that easy to accidentally move or spin into a higher or lower temp. Also, can't really fault @ACE OF VAPE for the temp control having weight to it and gravity being gravity.
Time for a couple stems of dayweed and then fertalize the lawn with the abv.

Perhaps they have updated it since I got mine, but the dial on mine is very easy to change and on @CarolKing 's suggestion I started putting rubber bands around it to hold it in place and now have one of those wide "money bands" around it which is about perfect for me.

If yours isn't easily changed, why the band around the dial?

Also, my point is not that the rheostat weighs too much, its that it doesn't weigh enough against the pull of the long cord. I added this just behind the rheostat and laced the cord through it. Keeps it all in place.

I really love my e-Nano, perhaps that is why I can understand @ataxian. You inspire me (&others I'm sure) with your haiku exhortations and observations, and you make me laugh so hard. Stay golden, Ponyboy...

Haven't had any special insights to lay down here being so new to NotCombusting in general & the Nano in specific. Got mine as backup for my Solo 2 on classifieds here, cherry wouldn't have been my choice but the price was right. I like wood and woodworking so once I saw it in person my heart went out to it, you could see it needed some TLC & beeswax. I saw it a bit like a rescue dog, sometimes you get the dog you need and the dog that needs you. Now read that last sentence again, replacing "dog" with "log"', it's still true.

Anyway it has been fun experimenting with technique and just getting to know this little guy. Today, 15 days in, our Epic relationship went to the next level! Not sure what I did differently (same herb) but the stars aligned and WHAMMO, for an instant I was: CIVILISED! The scales fell from my eyes, my karma tingled all over, the heavens parted and I saw the light. Felt so right, I did it again!

Not sure if it is down to a vape-only lifestyle (FC folks advised trying it for 2 weeks) or just Nanotechnology working for me but WOW! Like clockwork, 2 weeks in and everything went up a notch. Maybe 2... I'm so pleased with my rescue log, I've come to admire the cherry. So much so, I've found a small slab of cherry to make a stand; this log will have a home! BIG Thanks to ALL who've posted on the preceding 775 pages!
