^^ As an Arizonan who just dried up, I can tell you (unfortunately) that isn't exactly true.

Yeah, the potential for mental addiction is there....physical withdrawal symptoms just don't seem to be present in absence of mj though...I do notice when I'm dry, not only do I miss out on the medicinal aspects of it, but I also crave it...

Any updates from the lucky cloud users on experiences?

@those who have used the cloud:
How good is this vape to use exclusively with pressed hash/pollen hash ?

@stonemonkey:
what is the date for the 220v European version release ?

We don't even have a date for the U.S. version yet. Not to speak for SM and team, but I am pretty sure there are no _definitive_ plans for the euro version at this time.

I was hoping for a higher temp for use with hash and pollen as I ideally like these just bellow combustion temp. This should be fixed in the production model. Overall, I think it will work wonderfully, and I have LOTS of bubble hash, pressed and loose pollen to experiment with once I get my beta back. Overall? Seems to be the best vape I have ever tried for truly vaping these items without being forced to put an herb bed underneath, except my eclipse h2o. I actually just torch and burn my hash in the eclipse, where with the Cloud at higher temp, should be able to to actually vape the goodies all they way through

Good to hear that we can use it with hash without a bed of herb.

Does the bowl come with a lid on top of it..... so the contents dont fall out when you turn the cloud upside down to hit with a bong ?

@sm55. Did you ever get another working VXC from PowerNerd? It sure sucks to use any other watertool after a glimpse into the future. Kindof a bummer, isn't it? I'm stil thinking about mine every day, and a broken VHW isn't helping.

I understand your pain, I am Cloud-less at the moment myself. We are getting a brand new enclosure cavity, looks will be essentially the same but it will have better heat dissipating capabilities. Our contract manufacturer is designing a new heater for us, I am hoping for that to be completed this week.

I was told the new mould will take about 30 days to develop, PowerNerd is finalizing the latest drawing so that they can begin fabricating it. Sorry about the delay, but the new unit should be hotter and more stable, just in time for some bubbhash action!

Good to hear that we can use it with hash without a bed of herb.

Yes, the bowl has a lid on it so it can be used right side up, or upside down.

IAmKrazy2 - Once you have the Cloud back in your hands, I'd love a chance to try it out firsthand. I've been promising a cousin of mine I would visit him and his girlfriend in Detroit soon and that would be a great reason to finally make the trip! :brow:

Wow... a whole new heater AND enclosure design? At least 30 more days just to get the prototypes, then I'm assuming more months of testing and beta.

We really ARE going to be looking (realistically) at Holiday season 2011 for an actual release at this point, aren't we (SM)?

I think I may need to just leave and not come back to this forum again until sometime around October. From someone who bought into the holiday 2010 release schedule for so long, this is really getting a bit disappointing now.

... and don't get me wrong. I'm happy that VXL is taking their time and building this product to be the absolute best possible. I just need to stop checking this board everyday for "good" news - because it's going to be quite a while, I think.

AgentofChaos. Send me a PM once u have more info, if my work schedule isn't too hectic id make an effort to meet up with anoth FC member. But, adly id assume it'll be a couple of months before I get my replacment beta. I'm heading to Cali for a week in mid august, but aside that, will be in town, and work will be my only limiting factor

SM thanks for the update. Seems we are getting silly close to a final product. Hope all runs smooth so I can see this again in the near future.

I doubt it. I haven't even had mine for a month and already it is gettting a pretty significant upgrade. Aside from how hot the beta gets and it needing to be a little more stable when upright, this thing is market ready. If he gets those fixed the first time around we'll be there, IMO!

Here's hoping that you're right!

As someone that works professionally with product developers (albeit software, not hardware), I just know that he is introducing major fixes/changes to what is essentially a technically complex product. Once you do this, you basically have to regression test everything you were previously "happy" with. This is a time consuming, but necessary procedure.

Keep in mind... the taste you all got recently was only the 1st round of true beta (or RC) testing. There could very well be many more founds to come. Again, I sincerely hope that you're right and I'm wrong here. We shall see...

yep, good feedback from beta testers leads to revising the design.

should be well worth the wait, and doesn't sound like that major of a rework.

The two upgrades are fairly minor. The enclosure's proportions are just being tweaked slightly and the heater is only having the sensor embedded inside it as opposed to being two separate pieces. To put it in terms that you would be more familiar with, it wont be like moving from build 1.0 to 2.0, it would be more close to 1.0 to build 1.1.

The Cloud had been tested locally prior to the FC members getting their units. It was more of a controlled environment with vaporists that happen to live near me. Now that it is out in the field, these last two minor tweaks should be the final chapter before we can launch the Cloud. I think we can all agree we want this vaporizer out on the market as soon as possible, just bear with us for a little while longer.

As IamKrazy eluded to, the additional tweaks to our enclosure should allow us to pump up the temperature a little more to really enhance its concentrate vaping capabilities. In the end, all of these incremental improvements will make an already superb vape even better.

You may have to wait a while before your name comes up, but OTOH it's possible that the vape alone (without hydratube) may be available by then, and your new glass will be able to do Cloud duty.

So any chance I could get rough release date I wanted to grab some new glass but if the cloud is out within the next two months then I'll have to wait.

it is tentatively set for "summer" i believe. but it's a work in progress so if I were you I wouldn't hold your breath.

I like to think of it this way. We are getting an inside sneak peak of a cool new product that i think is pretty safe to say will revolutionize the vape industry. we are talking about the new king of the big hitters + a High end glass owners wet dream! Normally we wouldn't have any idea until this product was out and on the shelves.

the cost of this sneak peak is having to wait until it is actually ready. but really, it's worth the wait right? :brow:

I feel the same way. I am actually getting rid of some stuff, so I will have the cash for the Cloud as soon as I get notified that I can buy it. That said, I have such a weakness for glass, that it's hard not to buy something in the meantime!

:/ Normally I have my cloud fund which is relatively untouched but sometimes I steal little chunks to buy new toys. That isn't to big of an issue since I am able to put back what little i take. Now i want an other really nice piece but I'd cry if the cloud came out before I am able to get that money back together

Thanks to everyone that came out to SPARC yesterday to enjoy the Cloud. Met a lot of cool peeps and happy to see everyone's happy faces as they exhaled some tasty vapor. I think I may have found my new favorite strain, Jack's Cleaner. Anyone familiar with that strain? One of my favorite Sativas thus far.

I tried some Jack's Cleaner II, about 6 months ago and I thought it tasted like an orange cleaning agent.
A very strong taste and a hard hitting high. It's the only strain I have to switch after a few hits because the taste can be overwhelming.

Do you feel that way too?
