Arizer Solo II

@ataxian ... I'm trying to get as much resin as possible on my stem before I clean it. It's really starting to reek .:D

I was doing so well with a solid build up in my stem, then I ordered a few new 110mm stems from Arizer. You know, just in case.

Well I was one PV travel tube shy so I decided to put one of the stems in the tube that came with my Solo II - and that's when I discovered my 110mm were actually 115mm stems is disguise.

I contracted Arizer, they mentioned they allowable variance in glass pieces. All 4 of my new stems are 115mm. Odd

Not really a problem, except I don't want to fall in love with a true 110mm only to move onto 115mm upon a breakage. So I cleaned out my 110mm - it's back in the original tube now. And I started to work on a 115mm. 10 days in and it's starting to build up some honey.

Sad I had to make the change intially. But the 115mm is nice. Just slightly longer, so a touch cooler vapor, and I seem to be pulling less plant matter into this stem. Best part is they fit even better in the PV travel tubes - with a silicon end cap they are a few mm shy of a full tube so the stem doesn't slosh around anymore.

HAPPY JULY 4th to all you brothers and sisters south of the border!
Well I have no influence at all.
If I did have say this would be the last 4th of JULY.

The USA is messed up.
We have different opinions and POV's?

Time to break us apart.

From each state we are all different!

I will get a SOLO 2 before I die.
Instead of a new battery pack I will get a new SOLO. (@CarolKing thank you for your information)

I'm still puzzled why @OF doesn't make a vaporizer? (pretty basic really?)

Simple. I'm still retired. No responsibilities? Let the younger Capitalists have a lash, and good on 'em. Making anything past lunch doesn't interest me all that much come to think on it a bit.

BTW, after a lot of haphazard research I recommend retirement........

Just came to check in after 30ish pages of not being around the forums - Solo 2 is my new DD and it's literally the only vape I use anymore. No desktops, no other portables, none of my previous favorites, just the solo 2.

YMMV but this is the perfeqct vape for me

Took me a couple more, I should have set the goal lower.......

I agree, more over, work (for others) sure makes a mess out of the highways?

I think Solo and retirement go together. Like you should get one from say Social Security as a reward for retiring and letting some younger guy have your job? Big shots get big bucks bonuses for leaving, right? Only fair.

Maybe you get it when you start Medicare.......and discount coupons for the local Dispensary......

Once again, you're on to something. Brother A, yer a true inspiration here 'bouts!

Ask anyone.

Happy Independence Day to all our readers. A holiday on which all else depends. Life would surely be so different without it.

OF, I like your idea of a Solo II tied to retirement thinking. The new "gold watch" type thing. I retired at 45 yo, had an early retirement goal early in life and got out of the game early. One of the best decisions we made in life, being free on many levels and with you on the recommendation. I hope I can still get in on your idea and get a Solo II for the early retirement gift thing?....well, a backup Solo II at this point. But that's still a good thing, having redundancy on some aspects of life never hurts.

Happy Independence day to you also.

So, getting down to the nitty gritty, I don't know why some people are rapping about "honey". Your honey is my dirty! I did forego using a screen, on a whim, due to Arizer's claim that Solo II doesn't need one. Technically, I have to agree. I'm not choking on any particulates. In that case Solo I works without a screen, as well, since the stems are interchangeable. Did I say I don't care for this dirty honey? Just an observation, no big deal.

Oh, does the Solo I charger also work with Solo II and vice versa?

In fact I've found some funny applications for that honey you throw away..... I've found out through experience that if I put a little dollop of reclaim on burns (not too severe obviously) the annoying stinging pulsing pain goes away really quickly. Same with itchy bumps. I just take a little bit and smear it. And it's more sedating/less stony than even most indica edibles I have found, which has had its uses for me.

Very interesting !! Topical wise, do you find you feel a buzz at all ? I've been cleaning all my glass and have a dark glass of iso infused goodness.

No noticeable psychoactive effects. It's really just like a drop of reclaim and I smear it. Lighters and tools and such leave me with some minor burns and stings. Cooking sometimes if I'm not paying attention I'll get myself too. I haven't put any in open wounds, like I said burns not too severe. I do try to keep my things reasonably clean as well, but the last time I did it I actually just grabbed a dabber and scraped some off the inside of one of my nails. With perfect technique, it comes out impressively clear. I also use the reclaim that builds up inside the VapCap condenser. With fine screens you get a lot less particulate buildup with the goo.

Both my parents have told me stories about how their parents and grandparents and their parents and grandparents would grow cannabis plants and soak them in either rubbing alcohol or cheap drinking alcohol, and use that for muscle rubs after long days of work. I think yours might work just as well, with the benefit of being decarbed already. I remember getting massages with bottles of strange green plants when I was younger... whatever it was sure did seem to help me  ;)

But to keep it a bit relevant to the thread, you should be able to use it for the same application. I would just get a tool and scrape off some of the inside. Just another reason to use your Solo 2, right? :sherlock:

I have used Green Dragon tincture on open wounds on my body and for rubbing on my gums the day after a root canal.

The results are pretty amazing. Got a scratch on my hand that got infected. For a few days I put GD drops on the infected area and presto no more infection.

Your results may be different.

got a dog bite in my right hand 4 weeks ago, it bleeded, i putted my homemade green tincture directly on the wound for two or three days, and there was not even a scare left, you can not see the place anymore where the dogbite was....so much for off topic..:-)
back to enjoy my 2 weeks old solooooII aka "the beast":-))

Got new Magic Butter Machine. Maybe I'll break the seal on that box!

This is my fave portable right now. With it's ease of use and great vapor flavor. The upgrades are easy and fun to use. I changed my start up time from 8 seconds count down to 4. You can choose from 8,6 or 4. Eight seconds is default time that's included in the unit. It took me a little while to figure that out. It's in the menu, I just didn't notice it right away. You just press the button and choose which feature you want to change.

This Solo 2 is on par for flavor with the Solo OG. It's kinda big these days for a portable but that's not a big deal to me. I have other portables for stealth situations. The Solo 2 works well for my needs for around the house and outside. I only need to charge once or twice a week.

The sturdy feel is what I noticed right away with it's steel bottom plate that won't chip away like the last Solo OG I bought. It feels good in my hands with it's oval shape.

Right now I have some Silver Tip in my Solo my temp is at 378 using the long standard stem. I will bump my temp up a 3 or 4 degrees before my session is over. It's an easy unit to stair step temperatures with.
I notice the temp gauge goes to 428 degrees it probably said that in the directions, I had forgotten. I was playing around with the temp indicator. I haven't gone over 390 degrees while vaporizing.

I'm having an awesome time getting to know this new portable.

Edit
For stealth we can always use the drink cup trick and use the regular stem for a straw through the drink cup lid. Remember to poke holes in the bottom for ventilation. Good to walk on the beach with. It will smell close up of course. Folks don't notice if you don't get too close. He he he:dog:

Good morning! I picked one of these up from PIU a couple of weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. Very, very flavorful and the battery lasts forever!

It's my first portable using stems, and I already understand that I'll need to order a few more. Knocking on wood, but nothing has been broken thus far. I did get the bent stem and the long black one in addition to the two that came with it.

I have become acutely aware that I am more of an on-demand user vs a session-type. And my wallet has taken another beating!

I'll just go sit over here with my new Solo 2 to console myself.... while awaiting delivery of my new WS from Ed. :ninja:

@CarolKing Agree with your review of Solo II! I set my sessions to 11 minutes, temp to 405 (like the freeway), and countdown to 4. For the first time ever, I'm not using screens with I or II. It's an experiment, jury still out. Last night I charged I with II charger. Tempted to charge II with I charger since I have several.

While I see no problem doing so, I can't find a Solo I charger to try it? FWIW the home made universal charging kluge I made does just fine. In theory all that happens is it charges a bit slower. I'd estimate something like 30% reduction?

Please let us know what happens?

TIA

It works, Solo I charger charges Solo II.

Thanks, good news indeed.

FWIW I just 'put a finer point' on my estimate of increased time to recharge. Based on the charging current from mine and making the assumption that the 1000mA rating on the charger is accurate (not always a given, but with Arizer I think it's a safe bet) I make the increase in time closer to 20%. That is if it takes you say two hours (120 minutes) you should expect an additional 24 minutes (just under 2.5 hours). It will actually be a bit less since the last 10 or 15% of the recharge is at steadily reducing current so the Solo II changer loses it's advantage then.

In practice I suspect most owners would not notice a difference?

Thanks again for the good word. Teamwork! Is this a great Forum or what?

I have my annual leave coming up at the end of the month and will be taking a trip. I already ordered my Solo II from PUI and it has already arrived and is waiting for me. Super fast international shipping from PUI and their deal was great as always. Cant recommend PUI highly enough! Im confident that it will work straight out of the box after charging. Arizer has never let me down before. I threw in a Dynavap M as back up.

1 month daily driver report

I'm hard pressed to recommend any other vape these days. I believe Arizer nailed it with this model - save for a few minor upgrades I'd personally like.

This has to be a top 5 for fastest heat up time in the industry. With more than enough power to stay at temp during huge water pipe hits.

I have my unit set for a 13 minute session - I give it two minutes to warm and heat soak my stem. (Not because i have to, but it brings some ritual to vaping i enjoy and miss) And rock somewhere around a 11-12 minute session.

Temp starts at 195c for a few flavour hits - you can really taste the terps with the Arizer glass stems. Next is 205c for the bulk of my session. And a hit or two at 215c to finish things off if I'm up for the couch lock.

The temp in the bowl must drop with repeated hits (sometimes I'm in a hurry) as I find if I give it an extra 10-20s before the next hit I will get a much larger cloud.

Grind doesn't really matter - though I and I believe the Solo both prefer a coarse grind. But if you overshoot it, or have super dry bud you'll still be ok (maybe add a screen in the stem if it's powdery)

I charge 2-4 times a week depending on use. 3 is about average for me. I start charging when the last sliver of the battery indicator shows up. And then it's generally a 2 hours and change charge time. 2:10 seems to be my sweet spot. (Leaving battery juice in the tank and not pushing a full charge hoping to extend the battery life.)

As far as cleaning goes, well, there isn't any. I like to build up a stem and the extract the honey with some warm coconut milk.

Chipmunk a stem to start a session and the bowl stays clean.

The Arizer water adapter/gongs are rugged and I'm really happy PlanetVape included them with the Solo II code. With a water pipe I keep my temps and heat soak around the same, for more of a couch lock I'll hit 215c and for day time 195/205c.

Haptic feedback and a visual battery percentage would push it over the top IMO. A stem or adapter that could handle concentrates would be cool.

Additional settings; volume low, brightness low and 4s startup time. I use a long press on the menu button to end a session early (many options exist, I just like the simplicity of the menu button).

This vape brought me back to vaporizers as I'm finally able to get what I'm looking for in a session from a portable.

If you're on the fence or or just starting your vape search you can't go wrong with a Arizer Solo II.

I recommend PlanetVape.ca , use PVSolo2 for the special.
(Or any of the other awesome retailers mentioned in this thread.)

Does anyone know if Arizer will be releasing an Air V2 anytime soon? i assume they would keep it around the same size with a beefed up battery and digital temp control, plus hopefully a more open draw than the old Air. If they improved the Solo so much, then i don't see why the Air couldn't be improved greatly as well.
