just found out I need to get 2 crowns so I'm actually hoping my number doesn't get called for a while. The cloud was in the budget, up until that came up.

Hehe, I was just telling SM in an email how similar our taste in music is as well! I noticed the artists "Binary Star" and "Styles of Beyond" used in his videos.

I was literally thinking just the other night how this should be their theme song! :D

Yea peeps who dont have the $ for it when their number is up should be able to volunteer themselves to the end of the line, just a suggestion, also anyone on the east coast wanna take a greyhound to VapeXhale headquarters and camp out in tents until they launch this thing!!!!

SM stated how much he likes Steve Jobs and will all the anticipation for this vape it parallels all the Apple fanboys and the Iphone ferver

That is really something.

If more people are aware of vaporisers, then they will smoke less.
And that is fantastic.

Hi all - searched through the posts but still unclear...

My preorder was as of August 2010 but after eight months of updates, info, opinion, etc., I want to change my original preorder choice over to the Gridded Hydratree but without sacrificing my "place in line", if you will.

Can this be done?

yes, once it comes your turn to pay and finalize your order, you will get a chance to choose your hydratube type.

but i'd also like to hear any updates Sm55 has for us!

Just an FYI guys... I don't know if this has changed yet.

I sent the guys an email a while ago asking if I could upgrade my selection to the gridded hydra-tree. Here was their response...

"We have a limited number of the Sovereignty Gridded HydraTrees, if someone decides to get another tube, you are in line for the next available Gridded HydraTree

Sorry for being out of the loop lately but to answer the general question. You are free to change HydraTubes at the time you order as long as there are enough for the people that pre-ordered a specific HydraTube. If for whatever reason, there are SG, VG, or SGW tubes leftover, then you are free to switch your order to whichever one you like in particular. We are doing our best to ensure that everyone gets their first pick so those will automatically be allocated to that individual but if people start dropping off, the extras will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Are there any videos with the Cloud and the Sovereignty HydraTree Glass?

I am only seeing the SGW's and VG videos.

The VG Hydratree looks amazing! I want this vape NOW haha.

And also, does this vaporizer only give heat when needed? If you take a break and just chill with the unit on for a couple of minutes, it wont burn herb right?

I believe SM stated that they were not releasing a video of the SG hydratree until it's released.

I think this is right. but i'd also like confirmation on that one.

OTOH, with the volcano you do not leave the bowl on the unit while it's not in use.

I think SM deserves our trust and patience at this point. While the release has been extended further than initially expected, all we can do is wait at this point. I'm sure people's questions and concerns will be cleared up soon enough once you've received confirmation and/or when other users get an unit in their hands.

BigOlpul: SM's signature seems to offer the most up-to-date information with regards to release: "VapeXhale Cloud finalized, just waiting for inventory and then ready to ship!"


This is only a little off-topic but I personally vote that a new thread be started once users have their Clouds in hand or when an official drop has taken place. This thread is a great artifact of the progression and development of the Cloud and I think it deserves to stand on its own in this way. A new thread might offer more easily accessible information about the final product and its use as opposed to wading through a lot of "is it here yet?" comments. That decision is obviously up to the FC-present VXL team and/or the mods of course. :2c: :peace:

i have been watching all your videos and the hydratubes appear very wobbly. The glass looks sturdy but what about the end of the unit it connects to?

@keifrichards - I believe it is AC, PowerNerd3000 is out in the desert somewhere drilling holes and without phone reception but I'm pretty sure it is AC. It plugs into the wall without an adapter if that gives any hints.

@scottio19 - The Hydratubes themselves do not wobble when placed on a table. If someone bumps into the table, there is a very realistic chance that it will tip over. In our quick start guide, we list out different things that you should be aware of when first using the Cloud and probably something you want to go over when guest arrive. In a nutshell:

* always have a standardized place of putting your Hydratube after you are done with it.
* make sure no pets are running around that can pull out the cord or bump the table
* always remember that glass is meant to be treated with care, the Cloud is a high end unit, treat it like one and it will treat you well in return

We have started shipping initial units and continuing to build and fulfill orders. We found a glitch in our manufacturing process that we are currently trying to work out the kinks. Now that the unit is working well, we just need to figure out a good, consistent methodology of cranking these out with high quality.

That would not be ugly, in fact, give a good place for some art.

@SM Thanks for the response bro.. You might want to think about a ac/dc brick at 12v for the next go around. With DC in you can power with a DVD battery this makes for a nice portable out in nature option :-) It would be a great base as well. you could make a rubber battery holder with a cup the the cloud snuggles into. the DVD battery is about 3.5" x 5" heavy Li-ion brick this would be a heavy base bet you could keep the glass on and just put on the table with no spillage ;-)

The heater is definitely DC so you could effectively keep the Power supply out of the box. this would make a smaller device and one less internal part to fry... Either way these comments are in no way criticisms.. just ideas. The engineer in me won't let me think any other way. I will be getting one for the trip to Mountain jam. I hope they are shipping by then (first week June) the Wingteam ( my boys) are chippin' in for gear for the festy. This would make a killer addition along side the big ol' texas smoker, if you figure out how to vape a pork shoulder you let me know ROFL ;-) and all access passes. Hopefully we will get to Vape out Warren and the boys with it.

It seems like most vapor connoisseurs (myself included) prefer to use small tubes for oil and vapor. In my experience vapor is much more flavorful in a smaller piece; I can't speak on behalf of SM however I imagine his experience is similar.

I was wondering if we could get a post with good pictures of the newest iterations of both the hydratubes. I know there are some pictures out there but I never know if there the newest version, and its really hard to see detail in the videos. Some nice pictures would really help me decide on what I want.
