Multi-brand Vivant Alternate

are we having Problem with revised|updated topcap/MouthPiece
@Slang

Yes. All four of my revised caps cracked within 30 minutes or less use. PuffitUp reported at least a 20 percent failure rate earlier in this thread. My topcaps were ordered from both PIU and Vivant directly. I even purchased extras thinking the revamped topcaps were fixed...

I CAN still use the Alternate with the v2 cracked / leaking tops, however, it makes it MUCH harder to clean and I do believe the cracks impact the draw and efficiency. The internal areas around the large green O-ring get very sticky and gooey from the vapor leaking out through the cracks.

My other Alternate does not get this goo build-up. Cleanup is nearly non-existent. By design (without cracks), the metal ring on the topcap makes a very good seal with the bowl. After use I just tap the used material out and it looks good as new. I use this Alternate only at home and with good topcaps. When the topcap cracks I swap it to my regularly used one, which BTW is awaiting packaging for a Return / Exchange to Vivant for runaway temperatures.

You tried to post from Dropbox, which doesn't seem to have a convenient "share this pic" feature. Most image-sharing sites have that; I use imgur.com, which lets you post without an account and strips your picture of any identifying information. To post a pic from Dropbox on FC, you need to right-click the image and copy the image address, then use the image button in your post and use the copied URL. Read http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/how-to-post-pictures.155/ for more information.

Now here coming some additional things i like to ask ..its off related to vivant-alternate
  • I Dont have access to iso alcohol , i think vivant-alternate need 50 % only. But in India its not easy to find that. I am not sure that it is even legal to have pure alcohol... So my homemade wax plan is out of window :p
My problem is what to use if Iso alcohol is not available ,surely i cant use other cleaning agent like petrol or kerosene (cause i usually use my vape to practice make out, that much of draw resistance with my current unit)
  • One of my vape is broken , so the Piece that hold my vape's mouthpiece it has stated to Broke,,which is causing air to come while vaping . So guys there any glue or something which can fix ,
may be like a Glue which will not melt (vape's temp goes till 220C, no IR heat gun to be sure abt)
or some kind of clay or something which become solid once i give it shape and will hold on to that shape on above mentioned temp
Currently i just hold a cloth or papper around my mouthpiece and air stop disrupting vapor like it was

hey someone !
could u guys answer

Sorry....It was such a long post....I kinda skimmed thru it.

Concerning heavengifts......just go to their site www.heavengifts.com and you can chat online with someone there.....they would be more qualified to tell you the difference with the two different heaven gifts.....I assume they would be the same on the DHgate. Look at the minimum required purchase....If your only buying one....

Concerning alcohol iso.....I use it...but I dont know what I would use if I couldnt get it. Also...you may have to find something online......will warm water and soap work? Im sorry....Im a novice and just use iso.

The mouth piece issue is still ongoing......the first one in some instances had melting issues.....the revised one that just came out.....in some instances has cracking issue.

The difference in the two is the revised one has a metal ring.

If you search thru this thread you will see some pics of them.

Also....If your mouth piece is broken on your other device.....I dont know if I would try to glue it back together......I would search for a replacement one online.

Hopefully this helps ....Alot of info posted on this thread.....I would recommend reading thru it.

Best of luck brother

I will try to answer your questions from this post and the one that preceded it.

ISO is the cheaper form of alcohol (NOT DRINKABLE) to clean vape parts. Do you know if high proof ethanol (drinking alcohol) of 190 proof (95 %) ethanol is available in india?

If these alcohol types are not available you could always use the highest proof ethanol (drinking alcohol) available.

As far as DHGATE I have never purchased anything from them. Look for the lowest price for 1 (many sellers offer lower prices but you need to buy 10 or more Alternates to get lower price.

I have heard that people on this thread bought from Heaven Gifts and were treated ok.

The top caps continue to be a problem. I would suggest this as a permanent solution : https://delta3dstudios.com/mighty-v3-waterpipe-adapter/

I just posted this in another forum and I figured I'd post it here also for visibility. It's regarding the newest iteration of the mouthpiece:

Just got an email from Jake over at PIU. He informed me they received stock of the new new "v3" topcaps and that they are supposedly better than the original revised caps. Apparently the original revised caps still had a defect rate of over 20%, but this third iteration has supposedly fixed that.

I'm probably going to go snag one and see how it works out. Overall I take this as a very good sign that Vivant is continuing to update their product and try their best to make sure it stays up to standards. I'll keep you all updated on the status once it arrives.

I have tried the v3 Mouthpiece and it seems to work very well.
I have the v2 here which also works well.
I am still using the original mouthpiece assembly that came with the unit daily.
Still no issues at 393º daily use.

Hey @sixstringsmash and @Vitolo,

It sounds like there might have been a slight miscommunication, and I'd like to make sure that everybody's on the same page.

I'd like to share with you that the company is working on a new V3 cap, but it has not been completed yet. From what I understand, it's still in its early stages; they're studying the data that we have collected from our end users, as well as general feedback and suggestions. The company did tell me that they're making a completely new mold for the new cap, and they hope they can incorporate a WPA.

I just wanted to jump in here and let you all know that while we don't currently have and have not sent out a V3 cap, I do know that we have one in the works. There isn't an official ETA on them yet, but I know it takes 3-4 weeks to finalize a new mold, so my best guess is that it would take at least that long before we see the final top cap starting to be implemented.

My manager did say that we'll be sending out replacements, like we did with the V2 top caps for Alternate owners at no extra cost to you guys. :)

Thank you all for your continuous support. I'm confident that our company will make this right, and one thing I can be certain about is that our customer service won't disappear. :) Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions, and have a great day!

Thanks for the update @Vivant , there must have been some sort of miscommunication from the PIU team because I was definitely told that they had the "v3" mouthpieces. The guys over there are very stand up people though and I'm sure there must have just been some sort of communication error somewhere along the way. Just sent them an email now referencing your post and I'll see what they say.

Thank you!!
The patient that came by with his Alternate told me this was the third version.
Perhaps he was confused that he had received his original and a replacement, and then the 3rd one he got was only a V2.
We all appreciate this clarification.

Waiting for winter
since there have been some questions about how to proceed..

this is what i did to make mine fit. as you can see from the pics, everyone has done similar things, but probably all a little different.

https://imgur.com/a/J7a1b

also be sure to go slow, you cant add material back after you cut/sand it off. i did everything with a miniature set of files and 1 piece of 80 grit sandpaper. the files were not necessary, just something i had laying around.

make sure to keep looking at your alternate top cap also, comparing same points on your crafty MP as your alternate MP so you know about what to do

good luck!
This is great. I think I may have sanded off a little too much, but it was useful, thanks.

A lot of us use the hg2 batteries. You can get them usually overpriced at vape shops but imrbatteries.com and illumn.com are reliable sites that sell genuine branded batteries for reasonable prices.
