I've also been thinking of ordering a Primo Mini through Fasttech. Looks comfortable to use with that big fire button and screen, and I change temperature often so no buttons on the bottom would be nice, at least for at home. Seems like the batteyr life on my Evic Basic is going down a bit too, but I also think part of that is that I was using 10mm donuts for a while and I'm back to 13mm which is an extra 10 watts per click. Does drain my battery faster since it's only 1500 mAh. I love the size of the Basic, though the idea of twice the battery life with a 3000 mAh HG2 or something in the Primo Mini is awfully nice. I'll probably get one soon. Been using my Evic Basic exclusively (my only mod) for 6 months now. Is leaving it on the charger a problem? I think my Arctic Fox firmware automatically shuts it off when it hits 4.2 volts? I'll have to check again next charge.

I'll have to order a black gen 2 herb cart when I do order another mod. Been wanting to try it but I know it would eat through my Basic quickly. I can't wait for the crucible cup, gonna be a total game changer. I hope it has nice height to the cup for holding concentrates. I've also been looking at some DNA mods but I don't know. Vaporesso Tarot Nano looks pretty nice too. But it may be hard for me to choose something bigger than the Evic basic. I might just get another Evic basic when this one dies :D Are the wrinkle finishes more durable? Mine looks pretty beat up for 6 months. That's my only complaint with it. I kind of like what Smok did with the Qbox, they basically took an Evic Basic but put the screen on the wide side so they could fit a bigger display, and put the fire button and up/down buttons on the other side by themselves. I kinda like that.

@Steven what's the output of the USB charger you've been using in your car to charge the Basic?

I'm not quite sure about the output. I got lazy and just plugged it into the USB plug in my car, no actually charger. The USB plug in my cadillac is a bit odd though. It's probobly just wired directly to the battery because the USB outlet will still have power even if the car is off. I always thought that the mod and software will shut off the charge once full. Also I thought lithium ion batteries do not suffer from these problems of leaving it in charger. However, I did not see problems until recently when I would leave it j. The charger in my car overnight. I noticed issues after about the 3rd time doing this

Edit
Don't forget that it very much can be the heat as well. The last week was a scorcher

Hey guys, I'm back.

Been gone for a few weeks because I ran out of stuff to put in my DTv3. Wife is hooking me up today, so I'm back and have some questions.

1. I had Wax before, but now have Shatter. Is there anything I should do or know about the DTv3 and Shatter that didn't pertain to all my Wax questions last month?
2. Are the temps for Wax vs Shatter about the same? Little Higher or Lower?

Last and most important question is not really a DT question, but I asked in another thread and no one answered. You guys are the smarts group anyhow, so I figured I would just ask you guys. Original Question with Pictures of Cartridge Here

My wife keeps wanting me to try the C02 oils and got me another expensive (EvoLab) gram of oil. I have old (EvoLab)cartridges that are reusable, but I don't really know how to clean them and test them before I put this expensive refill in them. I don't know if I have the little batter either.

1. How should I clean cartridge before refilling?
2. How to test Cartridge before returning cartridge back to service?
3. What settings on my box mod should I be using for this little cartridge?

Thanks guys, Cody

Generally I use slightly higher temps for more stable products, otherwise they end up stuck to the mouthpiece, ha. & It may be easier to use the CO2 oil in a DT than cleaning, testing, & refilling a prefilled cart.

About to take the plunge with the articfox firmware & put it on my RX mini resin. Taking a little concentrate hiatus at the moment so should have plenty of time to flatten out the temp spikes before I do a wet run.

Really excited about the new atomizers coming out soon! Matt & the divine tribe folks never cease to impress! Especially stoked about the crucible cup, though the tank may have me sourcing some CO2 oils & HTFSE.

I am Liking the Wax and Shatter much better than the oil, but to keep the Waxes and Shatters coming, I need to keep the wife happy. There are some places the oil pen comes in handy as well. I am leaving on a 3 day trip with kids. This oil pen will be used then for sure.

I really just wanna do the best i can and get the oil used up via the cartridge. I've Cleaned the cartridge parts with iso. I dipped the atomizer part in the iso only until the coil and wic holes were submerged. I did this a few times while gently blowing clean with air compressor.

I haven't found much on cartridge settings, but i think i have a start...

It seams as the small pen batteries are 3.7W, so people are recommending 3-5w starting low of course. Just don't want to burn up my carts. I can get new ones for $5, if I wanna drive 800 miles. I've been to a bunch of my local head and vape shops, but they don't have anything. weird.

Thanks, Cody

Hi guys, I'm thinking about trying the Dry Herb Atomizer to use instead of my beloved butane vapes when stealthness is a serious concern. I can't find a lot of reviews or reports about it so I'm asking to you. It will be only used occasionally and efficiency isn't my main concern. Keep also in mind I know absolutely nothing about ecigs.

It's coming.

WHEN??? AND are they cheap to replace/easy to clean? Other sellers are 15$ per replacement like the puffco plus and Sourceorb charges 45$ for 3 atomizers, 108 for 3x3 if a 20% coupon is used. But supposedly source orbs terra 2 heats up the bottom and the sides.

It's the best 510 dry herb atty out there. I don't know that I'd use it as my DD but it perfroms impressively for what it is.

Black ones are in the horizon too if you prefer that over white. I wish that was the case when I purchased mine. I am really not a white guy. Oh wait, yes I am? Lol. You know what I mean!

Not sure when, just that it's in the works. Divine Tribe already had the cheapest replacement parts in the industry so I wouldn't worry about it. The cup style should be very easy to clean.

Silly question, but what are the benefits of the glass attachments for the dtv3?

I have noticed a lot of glass in pictures throughout this thread and now see it on glass attachments on Matt’s site.

Someone sell me on the glass if you can.

Thanks, Cody.

Are the carts 510 threaded? If so just put one on a mod, get the resistance & use an ohm's law calculator with that figure & 3.7v & that'll give you the wattage the pen was delivering (with a full charge anyway). You should probably have a few watts wiggle room in either direction to suit your preference.

Last night I gave it a go. I new that with being limited to VW and not being VV, a conversion from W to V was going to happen somewhere. I didn't think that the MOD could / would do it for ya. I adjusted wattage down to where the MOD was showing 3.5v. Both cartridges are hitting great. I don't see a need to go over 3.7, but learned that was the suggested voltage. I gathered it could go as high as 4.5, but while also taking the chances of...

Thanks for the reply. I fell a lot better hearing it from FC and not just Google. lol

you can take bigger and longer hits because the water and chamber cool the vapor before it reaches your mouth and lungs.

Lol.

Thanks Matt. Figures you'd be the one "Selling me the Glass".
On Matt's unsolicited defense, that was no sales pitch. You are missing out if you don't have a v3 + hydratube combo. I'm talking specifically about the Hydratube Matt offers. The common pwt bubbler is nice, but the percolation isn't the best due to its small volume. Proper bubbles don't get the chance to form when the side wall is so close to the percs. The Hydratube Matt offers is basically comparable to a little rig. So if you want to take humongous hits without the dryness concentrates sometimes get, Matt's hydratube is a must. If you are hooking the v3 up to a rig or bong, you are better off getting the Hydratube and adapter because it's a much more natural combo to hook up and it's so much more portable than an actual rig. I carry one on the go in a neoprene wine bottle carrier. At home, it's small enough to store in the fridge for nice cool hits. The perc provides good enough filtration that doesn't take away flavor and the vapor path is very short, when compared to a bong, allowing maximal flavor. I can't live without it. I'm saying if mines ever break, I will be getting a replacement, no doubt. To be fair, I do have a biased opinion on the topic. I'm actually the guy that recommended these to Matt

Then I guess a 'thank you' should be sent your way also! did you get that primo mini yet? I've not used any of my other mods since I got it.
I'll second all of @Steven's comments above (except I don't have room in my fridge) - I made a little cedar block to hold mine because I keep the adaptor installed in the hydratube.

Glad to spread the love. My evic basic is capping out so I ordered a primo mini off fastechh like a week or so ago. It should be delivered within the next few hours actually (funny you asked) I'm looking forward to using it. Can anyone tell me why I should load arctic fox over myevic? I'm currently am using the myevic software and enjoy the 25 second cutoff and am fine with the tc curve.

So if you want to take humongous hits

I am more interested in "Budget Friendly Medicating". I don't mind spending a little money if its going to save me money in the end. If you were to tell me my concentrates would go farther or last longer, i would have been all over it.

Right now, I dont want to think about using more product per hit. I need to save right now.

I'm struggling with all this residual or errl thats left over in the DTv3. I think i'm just doing something wrong. For a guy who's 1 - 1.5 gram a day flower, I shouldn't be going through 3/4 gram of MED Shatter should I? It seams as if I get one good hit per load, no matter the size, then a bunch of hits that make me cough like crazy. I think i take out .5g of left overs per ever gram i put in.

I haven't given up yet. That one hit was so tasty, i just gotta keep trying.

Thanks, Cody

I have used the V2 concentrate atomizer for a while, and recently got a v3 + hydro-tube. I guess I have a different opinion than everyone else here - but the v2 is better for me. I think the v2 is pretty much perfect. It is cheap and disposable and lasts months at a time for 10 bucks. The V3 is about half as efficient for me, and it seems to get residual buildup a lot faster. They are both good, but the V2 is a special combination of donut size, hit-size, and efficiency that the v3 doesn't have imo. With that said, the V3 definitely can make bigger hits.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a top for the V2 so that I can use the hydrotube with it? thx

Having a hydratube should help in the residual residue department as well. If u load a small amount, because u are able to take longer hits with the Hydratube, there will be less left over reclaim because it would have been used up. Not to say you won't ever get reclaim with a hydratube, but what I'm saying is that it helps with finishing up a loaded bowl in 1 hit. Plus for me, I prefer 1 big hit over several small hits. For me, I get more medicated this way and utilize all the terms in that 1 hit. Even if you take several hits, those hits will be enjoyable smoother. Just my 2 cents

You should comb through the earlier posts. I have posted a few posts about this very thing. I used to use a silicon band on the mouthpiece of the v2 and use that to wedge into the bottom of a 14mm hydratube. The most popular one is the pinnacle pro water tool (probably better known as the hvt hydratube)

Sorry for the double post
