We don't have a Sapphire Halo yet, but they're pretty new. :D
Actually, they are not. Sapphire halos are the oldest sapphire nail solution (aside from the d-nail sapphire inserts which I've had for half a decade or so), and were the first all-sapphire dish to hit the market. I have had a d-nail sapphire halo for around 3 years (yes, when I bought my first sapphire halo, the industry was raving about quartz bangers with improvized heater coils for enail compatibility!). The sapphire liger is a much, much more recent product.

This is all nail trivia of course lol.

I am personally waiting out for sapphire tunings for the halo and liger, since I can't justify the spend on a hex-nail until it works optimally with the nails that I use in my day-to-day (not quartz and I only use SiC if I'm travelling). Many of us who are the most likely people to want to spend on a high end, more advanced controller like the hex-nail exclusively use sapphire :2c:

I do look forward to finding out that you guys have sapphire support :D At that point, sign me up!

@herbivore21 I know they have the Sapphire liger tuning info dialed in and they are just waiting for a kind soul to send them a sapphire Halo to tune against. Once they have that, the whole enchilada will be covered. I have been rocking a halo SiC on one of my heaxnails and it really holds its own with the Liger rocking the SiC insert (The new insert) I have been tempted to get the Sapphire halo, but I have been mismanaging my monies on Glass instead =P

I gotta say i am loving my Hex-Nail so far , few quick questions - What is the normal temp drop for the coil when taking a dab ? Also as for the stylus , does it use a fine point captive type stylus for this type of screen ? Is the difference between the nail and coil temp on screen around 100 degrees? Ty and also @HexNailAva please check the last 3 messages via inbox.

I passed out replying last night give me an hour or two. I lost my responseeeee.

I'll say now that your nail is running normally (as far as I can tell based on your messages). I'll clear up the rest in a few.

There's just a lot of ground to cover. Wanna make sure I get you what you need. TBH the bit I lost on my WIP message was pretty much gonna go in the FAQ (coming soon) on the site. So I'm pissed.

Now there might be a few folks VERY happy to hear we have a package on the way from NewVape. ;)

Has anyone else experienced an issue where it seems like the coil isn't responding to the controller? Last night my nail which is on all day and usually turned off at night (not always), started tasting burnt at 655. I turned it down to 550 and noticed that the dish was glowing red hot. My Hexnail said it was down to temp but when I took a dab it tasted the same. After trying different temp changes I finally had to reset the Hexnail for it to work correctly. Could this be my coil is possibly bad? Or a possible bug in the Hex? This is the third time this has happened, but it doesn't happen consecutively.

@bellas I leave both of my units on pretty much all day and have never experienced anything like that. I would say it def could be the coil possibly being loose to the nail body and so it causes the sensor to get confused and over heat trying to hit the set temp. The glowing is what made me think of that as thats what I saw when the coil was loose to the bucket.

Make sure to report this to the hex nail gals and check to see how much play you have between your coil and the nail body.(When the coil and bucket are both cooled down)

Hope this helps and keep us posted on what you find

I leave mine on 24/7 and used to have a problem where it would occasionally have a front end crash (not a system hang, recoverable) but that was a while ago. Definitely reach out to @HexNailAva

The temperature sensor should pretty much work unless it doesn't (Duh). But what I mean by that is it should be very obvious when it's malfunctioning (there are a few different 'errors' you can get with the sensor if something goes awry in the software). But this is a fairly unique case, it seems. There's a few things it could be (including what @mutten840 mentioned above).

I'll send you a PM, send you a few things to try and see if we can figure out what's up. If it's the coil we'll replace it. If it's something else we've still gotcha covered. ;)

What wood is this? @HexNailAva
That's... wow. We're really surprised to see shots of this guy hit the web. That's 'Highly Figured Bubbinga' (like...highly-highly figured) and it's a 1 of 1.

Glimpse at one of (if not) the rarest Hex-Nail enclosures on the planet, folks. Made from half a book matched pair of guitar boards from my...personal stash. I still have it's 'sister'. ;)

And whoever has this needs to make sure it's updated. Right. Now.

How'd he Manage to get that rarity??
This unit was made as a special thank you to our first US wholesale customer. All the unit 'colors' in his order were picked by him...except one. We wanted to include a 1 of 1 'Premiere Exotic' unit and he was okay with letting us leave it a mystery.

We narrowed it down to 2 choices after measuring and sizing up some of the harder to obtain stuff in our private reserve we picked the EX Figured Cocobolo over some pretty gorgeous, more understated Burmese Teak.

We never expected this unit to hit the shelf, as we figured he'd take it in as his own...but it seems it made its way into the hands this lovely gent who didn't like the idea of breaking up siblings.

IIRC, this is his second unit. :D

EDIT: I've also been looking forward to getting back to knife work if I ever get any spare time and frankly...I wanted to use the scrap left from this board for knife scales. ;)

Okay so first off. We need to be friends because holy hell man these made my day. I'm so glad I don't drink coffee because it would have burned the inside of my nose. I was bustin' up hard.

The hold up right now is definitely not the lack of a unit (when it comes to a Sublimator). We started to get an idea of what it would entail thanks to one of our Round One customers (who even came back to grab it in person from across the country, along with his Hex-Nail). Although I'll never say no to new glass / vapes to play with in any form. ;)

It's more the lack of time right now and the fact the Sublimator will take more effort than something that works like a Flowerpot to implement. Multiple versions (like you said) & the configuration for the power supply on the Sub is different than the way the HN-01 handles things so it creates another hurdle there as well where as if we had a Flowerpot we could use what we already know to get most of the way there.

There's a lot to do to make sure everyone is taken care of but once our final shipment goes out after the coils arrive we're hoping to be able to shift gears to software feature implementation in a lot of ways.

We're excited to get our current tunings re-fined and start really expanding the library with other nails / vapes / etc.

No no. Didn't mean for it to seem that way. Stress is just running high here. Thanks for understanding and I'm glad the update helped! :)

Have an update/estimate on what month the Sublimator compatibility will be ready?

So I have been rocking a Toro XL Grail slitless banger with a 25mm coil from Disorderly Conduction. He also has 24 and 30mm coils. They are all wired the same as Dnail coils and should work fine with any other units. I am running mine at 545 and it shows the nail temp at 388 and the dabs are insane. The craziest part is, there is like no reclaim after 4 days of heavy dabbing and it takes me 2 dry qtips to clean it up to new and go right in for another fresh dab. The 25mm coil fits it perfectly around the banger and you would think was made to be used this way. I know Quartz is not cutting edge, but hey neither is BBQ =)

I am using the 20mm Heavy use pre set in case anyone is curious =)
