Thanks but that 420 website is expensive. Maybe there will be another sale in the future when i can get one under $150.
With our current sale for the Milaana, the Maple unit comes in at $160.65 + our standard shipping rate of $4.20(USPS Priority Mail Insured in this instance)

That's a steal on a brand new Milaana.

So, has anyone ever conditioned, waxed, stained, etc... the outside of their milanna? Got pictures? What did you use? Obviously i want something that would be natural and food safe because it would be in my hands and near my mouth. But also wont have adverse reactions to heat that may be generated by the unit itself...

I searched this thread, briefly, and came up with @mucsusn that used some butcher block conditioner.. but i didnt see any pics.. *hint hint*

EDIT: could have sworn i searched for "stain" in this thread and nothing came up.. thats the keyword i needed..

lots of people tried lots of things..

firewood sells wax, UD sells wax, vinegar, coffee, butcher block conditioner, beeswax, walnut oil..

and OMG @Vape Dr., those photos of your rough sanded Mi.. beautiful

I've been using Clark's Cutting Board Oil and Wax for some time now after trying my own mixtures, plain mineral oil and some other brands. It works better than anything else I've found and is priced pretty fairly.

Most of my pieces could use a good oil, maybe I'll try and fit a good oil session with before and after pics in the next couple of days.

So, noticing @cannabis.pro 's IG post showing him roughing up a Mi copper plate, I don't have a dremel with a buffing wheel. Other than just some sandpaper, what would be a good way to do that without one? I imagine anything that improves contact can only help...

I'm thinking a nail file may be something that most folk would have...

You're not trying to rough it up as much as remove the corrosion and oxidation. You can take the plate off and put it in something acidic like vinegar or coke. It will remove all of the oxidation and the plate will be shiny.

Unit is working great but I have to ask, is this gap between the female glass and the oven screen normal? I'm getting lot's of little bits trapped in there already but it's not a big problem

Damn that's pretty! Is that the walnut?

And I'm not sure about the gap, I'll take a look at mine and report back in a few minutes.

Also, mine arrived early and I spent yesterday getting technique down. This thing is a beast! :D

OK so mine has a gap too, but I haven't had anything drop in yet. How are you packing the stem? I find I'm getting better results with a bit of a tighter pack, and I tap it in my hand a few times before putting it on the body to get any loose herb out preemptively.

It's such a neat little vape :)

Wow FW4 is small, I mean I had heard, but yeah different seeing em. Love that Milaana 18mm though! Also seeing all those triangles, so nice to have the logo right there, V3 seems to be the final Milaana version and I can't wait to have my own in a fancy rare wood! Sooooon

U are a real gentleman for following through, I am much reassured. I sold off my IQ today, was my first vape so it has a lot of sentimental value. I sold it to a friend and charged exactly what my Mi and batteries totaled with discount, I figured it's my civic duty to deter my friends from combusting. Gave my other friend this M I had and was saving for my big backpacking adventure in some unforeseen future. Figured he too should stop combusting:nod:. It's been like Christmas in June around here with all the vapes being passed around

From RBT's blog:

Pausing Milaana

"Milaana recently received some big press from NowThis Weed and DOPE Magazine. However, this combined with the reduction in MSRP and 25% off sale generated limited sales. Given our limited resources, we have decided to pause Milaana production in favor of Zion completion and Splinter Introduction. Once Zion is complete and Splinter in full production small lots of Milaana will then be produced as required by market demand. The remaining Milaana will be available through our manufacturing and retail partner 420EDC.

Thanks to everyone who supported Milaana from it's infancy on FC through all of the design refinements and improvements that have made Milaana a best in class convection vaporizer in the niche market of wooden vaporizers. The Milaana has inspired other FC vapor makers to design unregulated 18650 vaporizers and it has received raved reviews from the elite in the industry including Vape Critic! We take nothing away from this revolutionary vaporizer and its existence has allowed us to perfect the High Surface Area heater technology that now lives on in the Splinter.

We strongly believe that the Splinters combination of a miniaturized Zion heater and wattage control with a form factor that dwarfs Milaana at a Price starting at $99 is the future of RBT. We apologize for the time that is being devoted to activities outside the manufacture of Zion. We truly do empathize with our beloved Zion customer's frustration and are thankful for all who wait patiently. Please know that we continue to do what is best interest of both our Zion customers and long-term business requirements to make RBT into a sustainable business. We understand that with each unfavorable update we will continue to receive request for Zion refunds which we will process promptly. In order to accelerate the process of building RBT into a sustainable company we will start to focus some efforts on obtaining the right investment partner(s). Hopefully with the right partner we can add the fuel required to ignite the spark that is RBT."

Just a tad contradicting to his previous post by a week raving about the success of the milaana sale.. but hey y'all - better grab one while ya can!

I thought the milaana was creating a "spark".

I confess I'm feeling disappointed. I already have a couple of older milaanas, a zion and will be getting whatever RBT makes and sells. But it's hard to get excited about sharing a great product when production can end at any moment as RBT moves on to something else he thinks will sell better. It takes quite a while with a new product to generate business. Vapcaps may be an exception.

I don't have any expectation that Milaana is going away, she is just paused while RBT gets the Zions out and his plan in order. Milaana, while not a HUGE seller apparently, is a great vape and should live on. But RBT is just one guy and can only do so much at once. I think he sees Splinter as his future, but that doesn't mean to the exclusion of Mi.

This is just my guess, however, having not discussed it lately with Ryan.

For sure Milaana could be a mid-term success, but thinking mid-term is a luxury you don't have when you can barely pay the bills. Knowing it will make money eventually in the future is of little help when you try to stay afloat...

Ryan has put his bets on the Splinter, which makes a lot of sense and might prove to be the right decision in the end, but Zion pre-orders felt betrayed, and indeed from their point of view it was kinda unfair... So I guess he was very torn (and probably still is) and decided to ease them by fulfilling his engagements first... (... to the dismay of people waiting for the Splinter lol!)

I'm not talking like in this old "leave Britney alone" buzz video, but we should cut the man some slack, I'm sure he's doing his best or at least trying very hard.
