Yeah given everything you've said and what I know about you from other threads (;)) I think you should definitely get one. To me vapor quality is world's better than the GH (which I barely ever use, even through water much anymore these days) and is as close to a battery-powered Brick as you can get... I have a Junior too and love it, but Milaana way more stealthy and versatile for sure. I pretty much only use mine dry (lately think of water as a hassle in general) and those useage styles you describe sound pretty perfect for Milaana

only thing holding me back to purchase the mi, I have heard now from some members that the clouds of mi are not as dense and bbig as from the gh or sb maxx... and as far as I am coming from combustion I am liking/searching more vapes which are able to produce big dense clouds...

If you've ever used an LSV ... it's like that. Huge huge clouds, but still a lot of airflow. So while my Solo 2 technically is "denser" cuz the restricted airflow, my Mi rips significantly harder. It's just the nature of the vape.

no never used a LSV... ok now it makes sense to me... it is the airflow... but couldn´t you restrict the airflow e.g. packing the stem denser or slowing down your breath... ... did not think that the solo 2 produces denser clouds then mi... I owned a solo (not solo 2) in the past ...

If you want to reduce airflow the most popular method seems to be using a stepdown stem like @DDave s that turns the 18mm stem into 14mm. I haven't personally tried this yet cause I like the free flowing 18mm, especially through water.

You can, of course, just draw slower as you suggest.

The other way is cover the intake a bit, but I'm with you - no need to cover as you get a big hit so quickly with nice open airflow.

In a bubbler the Solo 2 appears milkier because the lack of air allows the vapor to build up. It's used more as a "chamber" or as a "can" as some people call it. Whereas with the Milaana the vapor doesn't stop to milk the can, it just shoots right through the water to you.

If you pack too tight you get hotspot, just convection for ya.

Pull slower or get a 14 reducer as suggested.

This thing keeps up with the most powerful of vapes. No need to fret.

I've only had a few seshs with the milaana but I can already tell, this is the vaporizer I've been searching for. True ondemand convection....just what I always wanted!

First thing, the milaana is just beautiful.....mine is the regular one, not exotic, but it's still a work of art. It's fits perfectly in my hand and it feels very much a quality product.

The way it functions fits my vaping style to a t. Load the stem, drop a battery in, push the button and draw. You can pre heat for a few seconds if you want or not....up to you. I do like to pre heat because I love higher temps but lower temps give amazing flavor so I'm playing a little more than usual with starting low.

I haven't gotten even close to combusting.....I'm not even sure what it would take to get to that point. I love to play very close to combusting with the vapcap but with the milaana, even with keeping the button pressed for longer than I think I should, the ABV comes out even but not really brown....need to experiment more with this.

One thing I will need for sure is a ddvave 14mm stem and reducer. The 18mm is just a lil to big for microdosing.

I wish I could just get the 14mm stem, reduce and screen instead of the 2 stem kit to save some money but I don't think it's available this way. If anyone has a spare........

I know I have a ways to go but the milaana and vapcap duo have the potential to retire all my other vapes.

I need to be careful not to go thru my stash too quickly ..... I want to keep playing with this vape!

The clouds are every bit as dense as those, vs GH maybe even more so if you know what you're doing, in that way it is more like a Brick being unregulated manual, so its up to you. In my experience the massive surface area of the heater provides some of the most "full bodied" vapor I've experienced personally. I don't go by videos and stuff, yes airflow is wide open, but I always like to slow sip and flavor chase anyway so never have an issue with dense swirls of vapor at all. You can rip it too, it's just a different technique, I don't think there's any reason to be concerned about "cloud size and density" at all here, its some of the densest vapor I have seen. Pure flavor, versatile efficiency, quick and easy too. Jump on in bud, the water is fiiiiine :D

thank you!

I own a SB maxx and gh... and I am not sure if I need a MI really although I am interessted since a long time in the mi...
but I did spent a lot on vapes in the past (VAS) and also sold a lot of them... I do not want to buy a vape which will collect dust in the near future...

I also use my maxx at home... also the gh is mostly used at home because I like to use it trough a bubbler (bigger clouds and not so harsh...) therefore I use the gh with the bubbler on my desk and the sb maxx when laying in bed/couch and watching tv and so on... thought if the mi is similar to the maxx or gh regarding vapor quality (taste, coolness of vapor), vapor quantity (size and density of clouds), at least as efficent (quantity of herb used) and good for portable use I would consider to buy a mi to use it laying on the couch/bed watching tv and for portable use... regarding portable use I think the mi is easier to load then gh...

why do you use your mi as a dd and prefer it therefore to the other two vapes .... what do you mean with most versatile... in which aspects is it better or prefered by you over the gh and sb maxx?

should I buy a mi or are there better solutions for my needs or are the gh and sb maxx all I need?

also could you compare the mi with the gh and sb maxx regarding vapor quantity, vapor quality and efficency...

another alternative to the mi would be the sb junior.... but the sb junior is lacking in stealthness I think...
I'm not sure if you truly "need" a Mi, but I'm sure you'll truly love it!

It's my DD because it can do what ever I'm in the mood for.... thru water - clouds, stealthy little hits throughout the day - easily, on demand or sessoning, it's there for me. I also mean versatile because of all the easy ways to interact with it, different stems, whips, wood, etc. all change your experience.

I have all four that you've mentioned, the SBJ, SB Maxx, Mi and GH, keep in mind that three of the four are completely technique based, with the GH being more of a "is it working" thing. I've fallen into my setups with each because of how I like to use them, just a simple admission up front.

The SBJ and Maxx are great, I really love them. The Maxx especially, I think has incredible flavor and I can take any load as far as I want, pretty much on command. The SBJ is great as well, but just doesn't get used because I have others that do the same things, but easier or stealthier. The SBJ is not a one hand vape and for me that hurts it some in usage.

Vapor quantity, Maxx is tops, but mostly because of the bowl size, I can rip a lot in one hit! The Mi and SBJ are pretty close, but I'm more confident/consistent with huge rips thru the Mi, possibly because I use it that much more? My GH does great for the bowl size when it's working..... 'nough said.

All four are really great for vapor quality, each in their own way. I have no problem putting the Mi up against any of them and others for that matter, but quality is a very personal and subjective thing. Generally if you read thru this thread, it gets the majority vote for great taste!

Efficiency....., the same as quality, subjective by usage, setups and such. But keep in mind all their bowls. The GH is naturally efficient, it's got a small bowl and extracts well. I can use very small amounts in both the Maxx and SBJ and get it extracted, but not as easily as I can in the Mi. Again, it's versatility with adapters like @DDave has separate it quickly.

In the end, there's no hot parts to worry about, it's one handed (don't even have to put down a cocktail), large to micro bowls are there along with great flavor and extraction. I could go on and on about all it's benefits, but the truth is it's all in the thread for you already, it's a great vape, if you're in the position to pick one up, it comes highly recommended by a lot of folks here including myself.

So I found a US 18mm WPA adapter at my local headshop but when I took it home I noticed another problem. It turns out the glass is not as thick as the milaana stem, thus there is more room inside the joint and the milaana screen cups fall right through!

Do you use basket way or dome way? If basket, try pulling the edges out a bit on the screen to expand it?

My milaana is brand new I just got it yesterday. Not sure what the difference is, I was using a spare screen cup that came with the base kit from RBT

If you pack inside the screen, like a U shape, that's basket. If it's flipped around facing down and you pack ontop like an 'n' shape, then it's dome.

Well the cobalt short stem that was included came pre-packed with a basket screen meant to fill. I'm assuming the spare screens they threw in there are the same?

They can be put in either way, it's the user's preference. Lot of us prefer it basket style I believe.

@AJS I believe that basket screen is the new normal as they ship now, originally reversed was the default set up (I've always endorsed basket, though both have their pros and cons)

Anyway yeah that had been my issue with random adapters, US maybe and seal fine, but then no screen will stay put so essentially useless though I have a couple that kinda fit but can fall when stirring... I also have some cut iso stems from JoDa that are really nice but could also only get one screen that was an earlier beta screen and a little wider, only fits at the very tip... I've heard good things about Oregon glass blower making customs so maybe those are the best, but I'd love it if we could just get the RBT stem double-sided. Of course SonG from Delta3D works though not as nice or stable, I have a 420 EDC one I haven't tested yet but it can't take a basket screen either (how could you get it out if so?) and I also actually have a WonG stem from Alan I haven't used through water yet... Any others? Ddave have any? Does planetvape sell Milaana/Zion WPAs?

Yeah those had always been frowned upon for use here, should probably be fine but I dono, I never liked them personally though I have a few, I guess that is what to try with his GonGs if not a full joint load (or nug) with the glass screen

If you are talking about these:
8A8YZ0t.jpg

I really like using them, but the problem is the metal rim adds to the length of the US joint and that is a problem. I ONLY use them on a M2M that I have removed about 2mm from the joint length, so the full joint length is still under the 22mm maximum that RBT has required.
Remember, RBT vapes require US jointed adapters (22mm long) rather than ISO jointed adapters (26mm long). Using joints over 22mm can damage the screen and effect your warranty. The joint should never rest on the screen.

THIS HAS BEEN A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT...

Damn. I got a 4 pack of the buckets 8$ shipped hopefully they work. The M2M is supposedly for the Mi. Useless without a screen tho (honey comb in the middle holes are Way too big for my SCS grind. I wish the rbt screens would fit but too loose and since the M2M widens in the middle a full basket falls into the Mi ... Lame

Edit: In the meantime

The reason I went with @Oregonglassblower for adapters is he will customize them however you like. My OGB M2Ms have US on one side and ISO on the other, and they are also about 4" long which clears any of my glass pieces. They may be a few dollars more, but they are built to order.
Many of my glass pieces work fine with standard china US M2Ms, but my custom adapters will work with anything.

I have encouraged RBT to commission and carry his own M2M's but that never really happened. Ergo OGB for me.

So, has anyone ever conditioned, waxed, stained, etc... the outside of their milanna? Got pictures? What did you use? Obviously i want something that would be natural and food safe because it would be in my hands and near my mouth. But also wont have adverse reactions to heat that may be generated by the unit itself...

I searched this thread, briefly, and came up with @mucsusn that used some butcher block conditioner.. but i didnt see any pics.. *hint hint*

EDIT: could have sworn i searched for "stain" in this thread and nothing came up.. thats the keyword i needed..

lots of people tried lots of things..

firewood sells wax, UD sells wax, vinegar, coffee, butcher block conditioner, beeswax, walnut oil..

and OMG @Vape Dr., those photos of your rough sanded Mi.. beautiful
First I did some aggressive sanding to make the grain pop!

After many many times sanding I got it to look like this.

After sanding I finished it up with some light torching, this really made the grain pop out!
This took a few times to get the desired look I was after.

Hope you all like it! I absolutely love it!:D
