I've watched the videos on the rain.. How much will that attachment be and what size joint does it fit into? I'm really interested in getting one of these for a wilson bubbler if it isn't gonna be a long wait on the release of it? I also want the cloud but i assume you guys already have so many preorders and waiting on something for so long kills me cuz i'm a very impatient person... :/

I like the idea of a glass vaporizer...it seems much healthier than using plastic or metal. But at the same time, more glass = more broken pieces.

Hey SM - So, from the way I understand it, the bowl piece partially consists of (and heavily relies on) a stainless steel mesh screen shaped like a thimble. Two questions here...

1) Doesn't this make it no longer a "glass-only" vapor path? I know... not enough to matter, and at least the actual heating of the air is happening without any outside materials anyway. Just found this interesting to ponder.

2) (the important one) If my understanding of the screen above is correct -- How many of these thimble shaped screens will come with the vape, and how much will it be to buy replacements?

@ty14 - We haven't spent much time working on the VX Rain as most of our efforts have been in fine tuning the Cloud for the launch. Price would probably be in line with the likes of Vapocane, HDVape, and other lighter/torch based vapes

@mongorian - You are absolutely correct, technically it isn't a 100% all glass vapor path. We did experiment with at least 15 different all glass bowl setups, we tried glass discs, popped little holes in the glass, grids, glass honeycombs, etc etc you name it, we tried it. The reason why the glass bowl was scratched was because we found that most vaporists, after they take the first few hits from a bowl, will stir/crush their herbal material making it smaller and smaller. We were never able to get the glass holes small enough so that small bits and pieces of plant matter wouldn't fall into the Cloud.

It started to become an exercise in diminishing returns and the stainless steel mesh thimbles were the best combination of performance as well as ease of use in loading/unloading. I look at it as no different than the stainless steel screens that are used in the Herborizer or VHW bowls.

The kit will come with 2 bowls and replacement bowls will be fairly cheap, which will be in line with what Arizer charges for the screen replacement packs.

@lepstadder - shoot me an email at support@vapexhale.com and I'll let you know which one you ordered. We planned our inventory based on the pre-orders but there have been a few people requesting to change their minds. If the inventory is there, and you would like to change your mind, then you can get whichever HydraTube you want. If the inventory isn't there, then it will probably be just a short wait to get the HydraTube you want.

stonemonkey55, will the VertigoGlass HydraTree have the VG logo etched in it like the photos on FB? If so, does the StoneGlassWorks ShowerDome have a similar logo?

Hey SM. Any new info on the cloudstation? What is the price going to be?

I've never had a piece of nice glass in all my years. I'm really looking forward to owning the SG hydratube and also some of the VX tubes. Some of the pics I've seen of those look great...and at a lower price. Please keep posting these pics whenever you can. Where can we google some more of Glass Monkey's work? Really nice stuff :)

doubledown,
@Stonemonkey55

I've pre-ordered the VXC, but im from Europe, the Netherlands to be exact.
There wasnt a option for foreign customers so my question is, is my preorder legit?

still working on the CloudStation - wish it were a bit further along but my partners and I all work 60 hour weeks so between that on the Cloud, unfortunately the CloudStation takes a back seat. Once we get further along, for sure I will update.

As for Glass Monkey, he will need to change his name. Looks like there is another Glass Munky out there and out of respect, our guy will change his name. He does not have a gallery like the other glass blowers because his background is in scientific glass, which he has been doing for over 25 years.

Yes, but you will need to use some sort of power converter with the Cloud, or if you can wait a little, PowerNerd told me the European power supply fits perfectly in our enclosure so once we get the US models out, we will begin working on the European one.

Is it possible to give a timeframe of this, how long will it take for the european versions to be ready and shipped?
And how much power does the VXC uses? (dont know if this is asked earlier in the thread)

We were planning on launching in the UK about 2 months after the US launch. We figured this would give us enough time to work out any additional kinks with our domestic customers since units won't have to be flying over the Pacific or Atlantic ocean. The Cloud uses less than 100 watts.

can you give us an idea on efficiency? or this a hungry pig or is it a skinny mini with the drive to take all your "____" (fill in the blank with meds, mint, herbs whatever.) all the way to its full potential?

Hello Stonemonkey55!

whats the amps?

Hey Beez! I just got a text from PowerNerd3000 so here it is:

80 watts when heating
20 watts to maintain heat

about .66 amps

120 volts

I am very happy (and confident) to say that the Cloud will be the most "efficient" of the heavy hitters. The way we designed the air flow for more even heating of your meds and the design of bowl for easy loading/unloading had a positive effect on improving vapor extraction efficiency. While not at the PD level, you will see a huge improvement over other "heavy hitting" vapes

and one more just for comparison, the StoneGlassWorks Showerdome

quick update, the last bowl didn't fit correctly

but it fit a little better than the previous bowl, already having another revision sent to me early next week. Hopefully the next one fits and we can start cranking out these bad boys

I have been following this with great interest, as many are. I have been wondering lately if I will actually buy it, and if I do- what glass should I get?

What's better- the showerdome or that first tree one?

If I do get this, I am not sure how it fits in. I have the Q which I use whip style with my glass. So if I get a Cloud will it make my Q obsolete? I love my Q, and in my bedroom I have the PD. PD will always live in my bedroom.

I am really not sure. I mean, of course I want one, but do I need it more than say, some more nice glass? :/

mod note: Please don't ask a vape manufacturer about their product vs. one from another company, as far as quality. Functionality questions are OK, but that's about it.

Thats a good question to ask and Im probably not the best person to answer since I may be a bit biased but since I do own an Extreme and am one of the only few people to have tried the Cloud, there are definitely some differences you should be aware of.

I do think that the Extreme is a much more flexible, versatile vaporizer than the Cloud. It has a digital display, remote control, does whips, and balloons. Pretty much whatever your vaping style, the Extreme has a mode that would satisfy you.

The Cloud on the other hand was designed from the ground up to be one thing, your glass collections best friend. The methodology we took when designing the Cloud was to take all the best elements of the vaporizers that I currently own or have owned, and implement them into the Cloud for the sole purpose of creating the cleanest, thickest, moisture conditioned vapor possible.

There may be other vaporizers that are easier to use, more versatile, or more portable than the Cloud, but if your sole purpose is to get a water pipe based vaporizer that can handle the inhalation style of any user, then I can honestly say that no vaporizer can compete with the Cloud in this category. I have purchased pretty much all the major vaporizers on the market and if there was one that I felt performed better than the Cloud in this area, I would tell PowerNerd that this is unacceptable and that we had to go back to the drawing board.

Were about 6 months past our initial launch and while I understand it has been frustrating to hear about delay after delay but I can assure you that each delay made our machine that much better. I know I probably sound like a shill right now but I am 100% confident that I can make these claims about the performance of the Cloud based on the results of several focus groups that we have held.

Will the Cloud make your Q obsolete? No, you can still use it in whip mode and balloon mode. Will it make it obsolete when using it with glass? We havent met a user that preferred any other vaporizer over the Cloud for glass use thus far. Im 1000% confident than you can take any other vaporizer, put the same amount of medicine in it, hook it up to a waterpipe, take some vapor hits and it wont be able to hang with Cloud in terms of taste and thickness of vapor. Afterwards, you can dump out the ABV and I am equally confident that ours wont be any darker in order to achieve this thicker vapor. It might seem like a simple design, but we have spent countless hours fine tuning different aspects of the Cloud so that it would extract the actives out of your meds more efficiently and that you would never have to use breath control in order to get thick vapor.

If you are a high end glass head like me, I cant think of any reason why you wouldnt get the Cloud to compliment your glass collection. As for which is better, the ShowerDome or the HydraTree, it all depends if you want something that purrs and is virtually drag free, go with the HydraTree. If you like a little drag and a tube that rumbles a little, the ShowerDome should be your choice.

Hope this helps!

To bridge on what Stonemonkey said about the Extreme i have to agree. Obsolete? No. The Cloud can't blow a bag or blow a forced air hit down your lungs via remote. But, since i got my VHW and Supreme i never hook my E up to my glass anymore. You just simply cant use the E to hit glass naturally and achieve thick hits with a high vapor to air ratio. So it will really only make your E obsolete in conjunction with your glass. But for me currently, I use glass (via VHW or S) or my PD 99 out of 100 times I vape. Bags come out for parties, or vape newbies.
