I really hope this vape comes out soon but we don't want them to rush it and fuck anything up. I hope it's everything I think it will be. :o

@Progress - Good to hear from you! So here is the latest, we have pretty much finalized the design specs with only one piece that still needs to be finished. It is the bowl that will be used with the Cloud. The sample we got was almost spot on but was not perfect. We will receive a revised sample in 2-3 weeks and if we approve that piece, then it will be another 45-75 days for bowls to be mass produced.

@in the clouds, and nycdiesel - all the major obstacles have been addressed and solved. We are very happy to say that preliminary focus group testing has begun. The extra time that we spent fine tuning the smaller details, in my opinion, will enhance the user experience. I am very confident that the Cloud can and will meet its lofty expectations.

A short video to hold you over until we get our studio put together :D

Thanks, and Im glad to hear that all is going well, the bowl seems to be one of the final stages huh! I like that you guys want it to be 'just right' for us.

hey Sm, I dont know if you can answer this but Ill give it a shot: approximately how much do YOU load into the current bowl you are using(even if that wont be the final bowl) with your unit?
or maybe comparable to what one may load into another unit or something?
Im not looking for exact numbers, just a rough estimate.

sorry if this has been covered before cause I ain't going through 60 pages(PS: please make a new topic once its actually released!)

Are there going to be temperature markings on the dial? And are they going to be accurate or is the temperature going to be determined on how fast you draw like a whip type vape?

Yeah, I was just using iMovie to make the video, pretty good for a $15 video editor.

@nycdiesel - the bowl system is very simple but very effective. If you imagine a thimble that is made of stainless steel mesh with a cap on top that you can put into the male glass on glass joint, that will give you a good idea of the bowl. The bowl works effectively with small or large amounts but obviously, if you want larger clouds, the more the better ;)

@danielofski - The Cloud is an analog vaporizer that doesn't have any temperature markings. There will be different hash marks on the unit so that once you find your desired setting, you will be able to easily dial it in every time. The temperature/vapor will not be determined by how fast/slow you inhale, we have put significant time and energy into our heat retention capabilities so that once you select a desired temperature, you will get the same type of vapor whether or not you inhale slowly or quickly.

Just out of curiosity, how much temperature drop is there when you pull through the vape? Can the heating element keep up with that and if so, how does it work with more than 1 person?

Heat retention should be excellent. It has a heat exchanger to maintain vaping temp. The vape was designed to combine the best features available, and heat retention was one that was targeted.

hello all!

my first post but i have been a lurker for a little. I'm really impressed with this design as a whole but I did have a question about the glass extensions pieces.

can these be made with a male 18.8 piece to fit on top of the extreme q? Seems like in theory it could work. Any thoughts on this? I'm sure others have thought of this...

@PoopMachine - Yes, the Cloud was specifically designed to produce hit after hit after hit of thick, dense vapor whether by yourself, or in a party atmosphere. After all, the vaporizer is called the Cloud :D

Knock on wood, the first beta units will be shipped to our exclusive beta test group (you know who you guys are) and hopefully we can get some good feedback before our official launch.

Now I have some time to try and complete the CloudStation - gives the Cloud more stability when you use it on a table and also holds four HydraTubes :brow:

Ever consider throwing this thing in a "club" for durability testing? Only ask because I've been going by this new spot (open for like 6 weeks) with a vapor lounge and one of the guys working there mentioned they were looking to acquire a few more. I mean, it isn't a typical "real world" environment, but it would certainly put it through it's paces.

@TanzRemix - yes, we have been making the rounds at a few selected dispensaries in the bay area. I never really thought about posting where our next stop will be but that is an awesome idea.

Could you please clarify a little more on the temperature dial? With precise temp controls internally you describe (ie. the heat retention not being dependent on the user pulling etc..), is there a reason there won't be temp indicators on each of the hash marks? Perhaps I"m missing something and while marks will be helpful, I can expect that many users will want to be able to set it to the temperature of their choice and know that their "ideal" is within a 5 degree range, if not the exact temperature they chose. Was there ever any question about including a digital display similar to the Volcano Digital? That sort of precision would be great, but I was wondering if it was scrapped for being too difficult to isolate the electronics from the vapor path, cost, or another reason - all understandable.

Entrance, Stonemonkey indicated earlier in this thread that there is a digital model to come down the road; but the launch model will be dial. No indication of when the digital would come out on the road map either.

However; with hash marks and an understanding of the temperature of 0-100% dialed is; one could easily determine the temperatures for each of the hash marks, but i agree a digital version will be great and I plan to buy; whenever that comes out. Nothing will stop me from getting the original model though ;).

Agreed, the launch deals are just too good to pass up! But I didnt know about any plans for a digital model so thanks for the heads up, I am now following this thread so I will be aware of any recent news. :)
