I'm only speaking for myself....You seem to have no problem speaking for everyone.
And if you are ok paying for the examples of inferiority you yourself mention....thats great...its not mine.
I got my answer.

Im genuinely curious though as to any products/companies that offer what you're looking for, which please, correct me if I'm wrong, amounts to free upgrades for life/wheneveryoufeelitslongenough?? I'm genuinely wondering where this, and i do not mean to offend, but entitled mindset comes from. Again, ANY iterative or evolving tech/product/item i can think of, requires a further investment or full on repurchase to receive the evolution/new item/benefit.

I can see both sides of this argument. Especially being one that bought a hurricane, had a bad time with it, shipped it back and have not gotten the new one. I don't care really as I'm not interested in metal caps. But I do think early adopters of the hurricane do have some right to want the upgrade. The original cap was crap IMO.

I do NOT expect a Storm cell upgrade. While I'm not a fan of it, the upgrade isn't major.

The hurricane however I can tell got a full redesign. Which makes the past owners feel like they got sold a lemon.

Would be nice if you would just find another thread to hijack.

Let's please have a civilized discussion about the Liger and not waste our energy and time telling other members what to do. It's not that hard to be nice, folks.

Thank you.

:peace:

I dont see where EViL 55 is being combative, if anything you guys went on the defensive and never gave his question a valid answer. He had bought these in less than 3 months and I would ask the same question if I was him (Does that mean you guys are going to come after me now?) I honestly feel like you guys need to temper the love hate thing with the Liger and dont hold it soo close that it makes you blindly assault others over valid questions. Does anyone have a valid answer for him? I am one of the people that invested much time in helping others when this first landed and I do not condone or approve of this new tactic. We should always try to rise above the petty shit and help each other as we would want to be treated. I dont think any of you would appreciate the responses you gave if they were directed to you. He is a good person and has been a part of this forum for well over 2 of 3 years. We all have questions and comments that we come here to ask and state, as this is supposed to be a supportive community that likes helping others that have valid questions. Someone could of simply stated that based on the history of the Liger, you are pretty much stuck with what they sent you. Unless it is defective. I was one of the very first people to have the V3 and it was a bummer being an early adopter and seeing the flaws get worked out and then having to pay for the new and improved items at full price (I never asked for a hookup)

I am truly sad at how you guys treated someone who just had a valid question he felt comfortable enough to ask, without people coming after him.

If my reply was taken as an attack, or in some way a defensive statement, or for that matter anything but a concise, rational, specific, dispassionate and impersonal reply to a specific question, then I really misunderstand modern communication. Im all for social justice warriors but I'm pretty sure he was the one that started getting wild, calling out people to pm him when he has them blocked, and actually i don't see anyone attacking him nor cca at all.

I wouldn't expect to get free parts anytime he makes some small improvements to the products. When he's shipped things that weren't made correct and not up to his standards before, he definitely replaces them. But these aren't that, they're just some incremental improvements to his products. I don't think people expect new inserts just because the new ones are highly polished. My SiC isn't even close to being reflective.

I don't blame him for switching to a simpler single hole design with all the complaints the adjustable received. My first adjustable Storm cell worked well on my 30mm, but I think the groves on the bottom are wrong for the smaller sizes. He actually sent me another to my surprise. I found on this one they drilled the holes from the bottom, unlike my first cap, which caused the top of the holes to be unflat. This allowed air to leak between the bottom of the adjuster ring and the top of the cap. I didn't feel like trying to get a hold of Josh about it, no one could then anyways. It just took a bit of hand turning one of my round stone Dermel bits which could fit into the middle area for a minute or two to flatten it down.

I thought those new Hurricanes looked good at first. Though maybe a bit too small, like it could maybe hit the intake tube. I never liked that the original wasn't semi-spherically shaped.

Is that new Hurricane cap still stuck? Maybe try cooling the center of the cap with an upside down can of compressed air? Maybe while the nail is heated up some?

Pretty sure these new hurricane caps are not the final design and will soon be changed again due to them getting stuck on the 30mm after some oil build up.

In my opinion, this shows an insufficient amount of time spent on testing the design, and I think at least in this particular case, whoever got the newest Hurricanes deserves to receive an upgraded version when it becomes available.

you can tell someone something in a nice fashion or just strip it down and give them an answer that can be construed as rude and insensitive. Sometimes it is harder to be nice than it is to be short. But we all start from the same beginnings and we should always try to go the extra mile with our fellow FC peeps.

You're doing it again. Calling people names. Keep you personal politics out of this thread. You sir are the one being hostile.

You know I have great affection and respect for you, but I disagree. He asked a question, he got one answer (one I happen to agree with) and it was answered politely, IMO. He didn't like the answer and the defensiveness started from his next post IME... but WTF...its not really that important to me.

Well, not really. I sought help on this forum because I'd heard it could take a while to get help from CCA710. I kept getting told to contact CCA710 so I did that 5 days ago and still don't have any answers.

We all have opinions and that's our own free right but to sit there and criticize a company who backs their product up 100% if it's issue and concern they will email you within 24 hours sometimes even right away because the hurricane sticks to the nail for some reason on the 30 mm like it's welded together and I got an automated response by email saying a case had been opened within minutes of my email!

Now let's get back to the NEW hurricane Sticking to the 30 mm like it is welded/super glued? Anyone
And do anyone know of a good glass cap for the 30?

Ps... not like everyone's complaining because the hurricane and stormcell cap got changed also! do you think everyone should get a new one?

Which hurricane are you talking about? The one with the adjustable air flow is getting stuck? or the new 1 hole design?

So after 6 days of waiting, I finally heard back from CCA710. Instead of addressing my question about returning the purple Liger for the blue one I ordered, they only mentioned the dimensions. They "apologized" for the wrong color but didn't apologize for sending a different carb cap from the one on their website.

They said nothing about making it right.

My original ticket question:

"What I’d like is to have a blue 20mm Liger with the right dimensions sent out as soon as possible. Then when I receive that I can send back both purple Liger and carb cap and just get a refund for the carb cap."

CCA710 Response:

"Just talked to the owner a few minutes ago. First off we want to apologize for the Liger color. The owner has informed me the V2 and V3 ligers have never changed specs. If we changed the specs the inserts would not be swap-able. The official spec is 17.5mm (if the Riptide is shy of 18mm like you say it is its not going to work). A CNC machine holds tighter tolerances than anything hand made (especially boro/glass/quartz). Let me know if there is anything else I can help with."

The Riptide is for 20mm, but also fits 30mm, I think.

Here is a 50mm Bubble carb cap for $5.21 shipped
http://www.dhgate.com/product/50mm-...mm-xxl-quartz/397890109.html#cart_view-1-null

Be careful, my Riptide does not fit my 20mm Liger.
