Discontinued Haze Square

So no updates...should we take that as things aren't going too well?

On a brighter note, there's some new vapes on the horizon that look very promising...one in particular that the vape critic is promoting

I take it as a positive, they're making sure it is as best as it can be before testing even. That Ghost one does not appeal to me at all like the Square does, seems quite different, we'll see

Nah...I'm getting that Hopper Labs fiasco feeling in my bones.
Ever since Scott left, communication from Haze has been a little lackluster, but keep in mind that Haze has been around for a while and isn't a crowdfunded startup. So, chances are that they are just getting it right before release and want to make the Square a great product like the Dual.

What would be nice is if Haze came on here and gave us an official update, instead of leaving us to speculate, after teasing it to us.

My catch phrase as a PM in telco network industry was "measure twice, cut once" and so I agree with the sentiment expressed by your friend the Chef, above.

But they came here and teased it pretty good then nothing but deafening silence. The competitive landscape is changing very quickly for portables and they need to keep this on peoples radar, I think. There are new vapes coming down the line here this summer.

If with beta team, how come no beta team reviews/reports???
because it's probably

Grimey! Grimey! :mmmm:

As @VaporSipper mentioned that is not a fair comparison at all, crowdfunded start up vs established company. I really don't get that sentiment at all here, seems totally unwarranted (Scott also isn't a company founder or anything, of course greatly missed bc it was incredible news when he joined, but shouldn't change too much I wouldn't think). If you just mean the lack of communication here, it is not typical for manufacturers to do that throughout their development process, maybe we we are just spoiled from when we do get some great insider info I don't know, but to me there is no reason this should cause any concern... The longer it takes often means a better product, we'll hear news when there is real news to tell, not that different than before really. These things take time, usually when done right, though we've seen all sorts of situations here and many much worse than this!

RE: Shit Snacks

One thing I agree with others here is that Haze Vaporizers need to get their "shit" together (pun intended) in terms of better communication.

I agree manufacturers don't need to update their customers throughout the development process if they don't want to. But if they do start something, there should be some follow through because now they have created a reasonable expectation from their customers for more updates on a regular basis. They came onto this site to hype their product which is good but they leave us hanging which is bad. It's been quite awhile since their last update which left the impression (at least to me) that they were very close to revealing a finished product. They probably would've been better off waiting until beta testing was close to finish before coming around here to show off their unit.

The Ghost MV1 is doing everything right so far. They are using the vape critic to get the word out when they are almost ready. VC gave us a taste three weeks ago of what the pre-production looks like and how it functions. By this weekend, he's going to show us some pics of the final unit and soon he's going to post a series of videos on it too. Just in time for preorders hopefully by end of the month. The Ghost is keeping the timelines tight and right so that the hype doesn't die down. Kudos to them for that.

The way the Haze Square has been communicated to us has been somewhat disappointing. A lot of teasing and no satisfaction. Don't be licking the tip if you're not gonna stroke the shaft, if you get what I mean.:brow:

Wow. A lot of you people need to relax over the release date. When it comes it'll come. Do you have vaporizers to use? Yeah you do. So use those. Sit back and relax till the square comes. You want a half ass product that will break down like a grasshopper then by all means, eush Haze.
I think you are still missing the point. Nobody is advocating that they rush the vape out, that they cut corners on testing, or push to make an premature release of the product.

The comments, specifically, are that they came here and teased the product and then disappeared. That's the alpha and the omega of it, IMO.

I will be the first to admit that Scott was a great representitive but he represented a company that still has the same values. They stand by their products as far as I have been aware of.

Yes the decline of communication since Scott left is definitely a fact but appart from that I don't think much has changed. Give them some credits. They haven't taken money for the square, nobody has been scammed or hurt. Worst case as far as I can see is that the square won't be released and instead of scorning I'd rather support them if that would be the case

Guys,

We appreciate all the comments. We do not believe in negative comments. All positive to us. If some of you guys are criticizing us, there should be something we need to learn from that so they are all good and appreciated. One point i need to make is that we are not here to tease people or waste anyone's time. We are working on a solid product with the help of many highly respected and skilled individuals from this community as well as from other respected communities. Everybody in our beta testing team have been more than generous with their time and this is a team effort.

Beta testing has started but not all beta testers have received a unit yet.

We humbly asked our testers not to share info online or offline so we do not influence each other's opinion. It is not that we have trade secrets or anything but we want pure individual feedback.

Members of this community have been extremely respectful to this request and that is the reason why nothing has been posted here yet.

We asked our testers not to share details yet and we will also not share the details of the testing phase but it is in progress and with the help of the beta team, we will bring you guys a solid product.

I see comments about Scott. Scott was a friend. He became an employee. He left the company and he is still a friend.

He has done so much for this community and for Haze. We all miss him. Since he left, our communication may be lacking. Big part of the reason is that we could not hire anybody vaguely close to the quality of work that Scott had produced while he was with Haze. The other part is the fact that management spends every waking moment on the field with engineers, testing and helping QC. We could not spend enough time for communication consistency.

We are in the process of software debugging and it takes time. We as the management could not spend enough time at the office to keep the communication consistent. It is us to blame and noone else.

Long story short, as i always said: This community has done so much for us that none of the comments will discourage us. I am hoping that most people know about our ethics and integrity. We will not open preorders or collect money before our units are in full production.

As soon as the Square is released, we promise that we will work on the communication and get it back to where it was and hopefully exceed expectations.

For all members: anybody that we owe a reply to their email, text message, voicemail: i apologize. We all have been working around the clock but we will bring you a quality product that you all deserve.

Thank you again for your patience.

I know a few people on the beta test list...uuuheehm! Still no contact to any of them from my coms. Over n out!

Scott was not the best in my opinion. They were on point before they even decided to hire him.

Also Haze has been slacking on customer service lately. It's not as stream lined as it once was before. This happens when a company is dealing with turn over and new employees. However they need to get it back to the levels it was at from its start-up days! I know things had to be much more hectic back then. I've got/we've got faith in you Haze ..... show us the money once again and we'll show you ours. :rockon:

I'll go ahead and disagree about Scott not being the best customer dude in the vape world:D I still can't name anyone as fast at taking care of the customer, let alone communicating with fc folk as fast:tup:

Agree to disagree. I was an early adopter of the Haze and have had numerous experiences with the Haze crew before @scottg402 and he came on helm.

I had nothing but great experiences with Haze right out the gate and I think that Scott complimented their already solid foundation very well and raised the bar further. He had been in touch with me often via PM or text message and called me himself to let me know about a small shipping error.

I have a strong respect for the Haze crew regardless, but I think that Scott really represented them well and went out of his way for the customer base.

I'm going to charge a few batteries now, just realizing how long it's been since my Haze saw some love!

To the most helpful, long remembered and honest past or current Haze employees, shout outs and props go to ... Amy, Emily and Eric, you rocked from day 1 and never had any attitude or got anything twisted. May you have nothing but success always and forever in your future endeavours. Thank you.

Haze you're still my number one choice for best in CS and for overall quality and experience in the portable market!

No pressure on that square dance but I'm waiting to meet you on that dance floor very soon. May I have this dance already?!
