CCA Liger banger V3.0

lazylightning

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
So this morning while my Liger was still cool I measured the SiC insert. It's 17mm outer diameter so the dish itself is 16mm or under. The Riptide cap is 17.75mm and doesn't fit inside while the 17mm Sic insert does.

Anyone able to tell if I have the 16mm or 20mm Liger from these measurements?

if your liger was a 16mm, the gordo cap wouldn't even be close

@lazylightning, 20mm is the diameter of your heating coil. So if the inner diameter of your dish is 17mm, add in the metal outer walls and looks to me like you have the 20mm setup. If you had a 16mm setup, your 20mm coil would rattle all around and not make full contact or heat up the dish much. If you are getting dabs at 580 with that setup on a 20mm coil, it's a 20mm setup.

Beta tester since the V1 so pretty sure on that ;) but send your pics to Josh on IG or in a ticket if you feel otherwise. As you can see, he takes good care of the flock... once he gets around to it.

hey guys was wondering if you guys think 20/30 where significantly better than the 16mm. I don't take huge dabs but I think they are still too big for my 16.

The 20mm would be a good step up if size and weight are a concern, but if you get a 30mm, you'll never have to worry about how much you vape. On the other hand, the 20mm supports more, better carb caps than the 30. Still, I feel like the 30mm would ultimately come out on top if/when 30mm Riptide bubble caps start getting made.

Idk guys. Sounds like he's not gonna do it. His IG direct message response when I asked him about custom bubble caps for 30mm Liger: "Hey sorry for the slow response. We tried making a custom size for someone recently but it did not go well so we are not offering any more of them right now. Sorry "

I don't think that question has a simple answer yet. My Turptrunk vapes the oil the quickest and thickest, but these don't seem to be made to the same quality consistently. I think my Riptide cap has the best flavor, but if mine were ANY smaller it wouldn't seal.

It'd sure be cool if these small Colorado companies got together on this.

that 'someone' was me....

Gordo is an AWESOME guy to deal with and I would in the future if I ever need to. But, imo, riptides are not the best choice for the 30mm...

I saw on Facebook CCA710 has been promoting new "Tier1" SiC inserts that are ultra polished, any idea if these are better than the earlier v3 batch? I can still my reflection in mine which is one of the things they're promoting, just curious if it's really "better". I'll stick with what I have though and wait for that newage surface they were hinting at earlier.

Monsoon,
Heres what I got in the mail this weekend:

Just an update: So far I seem to like the new hurricane > storm cell. It's just like a bubble cap and you can easily move it around on top to aim the air hole and push them puddles around. Further testing is required but so far the hurricane is winning. The new tier 1 polished sic insert is amazing, it has a really smooth surface almost like a glass surface.

What is the recommended temp for low temp dabbing with the flat coil v3? I've tried between 600-720 but seem to either get wispy vapor (even after capping with the storm cell) or bordering on burnt.

I brought the shitty chad bro turp trunks I had laying around to a local glass blower so he can unbend the terribly angled spouts and I'm amazed at what a difference it has made. Possibly my favorite cap right now.

The local glass blower couldn't understand either why someone would make the directional spout at such a stupid angle that even on a small quartz banger the air would be hitting and cooling the walls rather than moving the oil around. On the liger it directed the airflow right at the wall above the insert, which did nothing at all except make the insert hover and spin inside the titanium enclosure.

If the terp trunk seals well on the 30mm and the spout points downward like in the pic below, there isnt a spot on the insert where the oil doesnt get moved around.

I'm still working on getting a custom bubble cap from a different glass blower that I'm hoping is going to be even better than these modified terp trunks.

Holy crap, that's pretty. Would look stunning on a gold Liger. Still, it's hard to consider a new cap when you haven't heard any accounts of its function

So far I've been in the 580-620 range and have been liking that, but I haven't been getting a burnt flavor? Do you have a insert?
