Beautiful, beautiful.......can't wait to get home and unveil mine tomorrow. Going to be a brief first date, though, a 6 hour drive home, then turnaround and work until midnight, then back up at 0630 on Sunday. Sunday evening however, I hope to be in the Thuya Burl Zone, hopefully conscious enough to post pics.View #1:

And I think woodworkers call that a void, and in burl, I know it can be caused by a zillion things. Now that I've gotten into these nice burl, spalted or figured vapes, I see the burls in local trees. In particular, this spring, the cherry trees in our nations capital caught my eye. Walking around the tidal basin, I was drawn to the burls in the now 100+ year old tradition of cherry trees there. And every now and then you see one that had to be cut down due to a storm, or age, or you know....life......I envy the lucky SOB who might get to those burls.
Hey hey, good morning everyone, hoping all is well out there! Wow finally had a few days of no rain, jeez its been tough here. I feel I am going to have to start over in my garden, I am very disappointed but still have time to get something out of it. Its in a low spot that tends to hold water if its quite frequent, over half my seeds never came up and what did just didnt get enough sun to make it from all the water in the soil. Stinks but hey I am not giving up, going to give it another go! One thing about all the rain is cool, last year we really didnt get enough when we needed it and the Blackberries didnt make last year, well that so istnt the case this year. They are beginning to turn feel itll be another week or 2 before there are more black than red. Ate a handful yesterday when checking though, they are getting so fat and ripe!
My girl has been up for a whole week, has been great for us both! Wow she is an amazing cook! She did me Meatloaf one night, Chicken Pot Pie another & Lasagna last, RRRRRRR wow wow she knows what she is doing! She loves that I can eat also! We were at the store grabbing groceries and got the 2 thickest ribeyes they had for one night. I wanted to do shrimp skewers one night when I saw that my walmart finally got the new Kings Hawaiian BBQ sauce. I grabbed the Big Island Lava RRRRRRRRRRRR are you kidding its good stuff trust me, you so gotta get you some!
Oh yeah I had a package show up the other day, our guy @phattpiggie told me he had a few surprises for me and wasnt going to show since I love the wait. This is my first experience with his work and I must say he knows his way with wood. Great great pieces all 3, first up
I believe its a blood wood twist maybe paduok am certain its stunning! I told him I wanted a twisted piece above all, I really dig them and the detail, very coo! You can see Daly was just as excited as I!
He also did me a XL tapered Cocobolo piece, I wanna say total length on this piece is 7" with a condenser the entire length
Then for the show stopper DAMN IT BOY piece, he did an extra long stabilized Buckeye Burl stem with Blackwood ends separated by metal, WOWZERS!
This one measures in at 7 1/2"L also with a condenser within. This piece has a couple voids in it like BE also does, the condenser closes them while giving it the extra character. Am really stunned by all 3 pieces and I thank you so much bro for these gifts, well done chief well done!
@flotntoke Its always a pleasure to share bro! We had a great visit at my friends place, he has the cutest little red head daughter named Ruby, she is such a pistol! Super smart and a real cutie pie! She is an only child that rules the roost lol. Every time I see her I am grinning from ear to ear walking through the door and listening to her stories and tales, what a talker she is. Had dinner and let them get to know my girl, was great for us all. I had to stop by a small boutique kinda place to grab Ruby a couple small happies, got her a tiara and other girly gifts. My friend texted me the next day said she was still wearing it the next day, made me feel good again! Lol, sounds like a troubling time to have so many options and goodies to enjoy, sounds like you had a great time doing so, glad to hear it! Neat image too lol!
@CarolKing You so gotta love the versatility of this unit! I did notice that the Nano/UD stems I make with the SS bushing fit well on the WS as well giving you a larger load capacity. It rests on the shoulder of the heat core but with the depth of the SS bushing you can really load it up and get effective results.

Isnt it fun when you notice things like burls on trees when and where in life then thinking wow what could those make, my imagination just goes crazy! Mother Nature is amazing and her creations are remarkable!
@ArthurJ Another great piece you got my man, glad you were able to grab the Thuya after all! @mucsusn is correct that is a void in your piece. Another reason why I love working burls, eyes are great yes but those natural defects just add even more flavor to an already unique piece.

I lucked into some Pink Cookies this week - a very heavy Indica GSC (labeled as 24% THC). This stuff is amazing! Ran two very small loads through the WS the other night. Was blotto for a while, and next thing you know the dog was waking me up from the sofa for breakfast at 6am. All good, except my back from zonking out there. We all know how to handle that tho, right? Another load of Pink Cookies in WS with breakfast, and an extra cup of coffee or 2 to keep things moving in the right direction.

Interestingly, with my Walnut WS I wasn't a fan of the long wood stem. But with this one I do really like the long wood.
I think maybe it's a smoother finish, I'm not sure if the wood is imparting any flavor, I'll have to do some comparison testing. This morning I'm finding that I like small hand nugs with a few pokes with a tootpick to break it up mid-session. I like to kind of sip at it and I'm amazed at how long it lasts.
As with my walnut unit, it took me a couple a sessions to get my heat dialed in where I like. I started a little low, 5.5 - 6 and was a little disappointed and settled in at a little closer to 7.5 - 8 and I get nice consistent smooth hits.

I know for a fact @phattpiggie is booked up, may take a bit of time to get yours worked up but know without a doubt you will be extremely happy as I am! He does amazing work and well worth the wait! Good morning everyone, hoping all is well out there. Been a long tough week with the heat down here, its that time of the year and will be this way for a while, ughhh! Have spent the last couple days with my gal who surprised me coming up and spending another week with me, woot woot! Got that order of glass in yesterday and have it listed, its going quick again, that is good! Got quiet a bit to do today before I can do time with mine, hope all the Fathers enjoy their day and everyone else lets their fathers know how important they are!
@phattpiggie I assure you my man, 10 years goes by so quick here. Being a part of FC as I have said many times is like family, I have seen so much change here and still think back to times when I find myself saying gosh has it been that long ago. Wow, not just here the industry has gone through a lot since I started and one thing still rings true and will give it to an old timer @Rick for what he said many times, "You get what you give" you and I give it all in our work and our dealings with others, your 10 years will come just as quick and Lord willing we will both still be giving it hell doing what we do my friend!

Last night I dreamt I was using the woodscents. It was an amazing experience. The abv came out very dark like coffee, but the taste was lovely, the vapor was the best quality ever, zero irritation, like fresh air.
It didnt bother my allergies one iota! I was astonished. It was really an amazing dream experience, amidst the usual surreal labyrinth of circumstances and adventures.
@CarolKing , it was yourself actually who lead me to it and introduced it to me. We had some adventures in the surreal world along the way!
My dreams are pretty random and crazy. This is the fourth vape I have dreamt about using lately, but the one I was most astonished by for its sheer pleasantness and smoothness!
I want one (in time)!

Love hearing about your family. I have been using phatpiggie's stems since I got my woodscent. I got them before he got so busy. They are wonderful with the woodscent and the long ones add a bit of cooling.
