re - SG Gridded HydraTree - Sovereignty has been slammed with new orders so please be patient, the second I have a chance to demo a SG HydraTube for you, I will definitely inform you guys.

re - new HydraTubes

These are actually made in house by a scientific glass blower I had the pleasure of meeting a few months ago. For those that don't know, glass blowers come in two flavors, art and scientific. The difference is fairly obvious, the art guys make vases, pipes, bongs, sculptures, and scientific guys specialize in making stuff with super tight tolerances like what you would find in a typical laboratory.

A lot of people have sent me emails asking if there were any cheaper alternatives than the Sovereignty, StoneGlassWorks, or Vertigo HydraTubes. VapeXhale has invested funds to extend the capabilities of our scientific blower so that we can produce HydraTubes comparable in quality at a cheaper price.

There have been some additional benefits as well, the glass on glass fittings that the scientific community has access to that hasn't found its way into the art world can be seen by the flush mounted seals. The ones in the pictures are called "dewer seals" and are GonG fittings that were designed to be flush mounted. Because these were designed to be flush mounted, the glass blower doesn't need to reinforce the seal like SGW has done with our beta HydraTubes thus saving time AND money

This will allow us to keep prices down for folks that want a kick ass set up without spending more on high end glass, and this will also give my guys more time to create worked HydraTubes with all the color patterns that people love so much like "fire and ice" "rasta" or whatever the popular color pull of the month is.

I'll be giving these guys a test run shortly

ughh just those tubes make me want one so much :ko:

edit: You guys should consider a "budget package", 350 is alot of money, i'd love to buy this vaporizer with a cheaper, not as elaborate tube. Maybe thinner glass and a simpler perc....

Same here!

Sounds good! I will be holding off ordering till something of the likes is released.

Stonemonkey,
Blades picked this thought right from my mind. It would appear with a proper adaptor the EQV would be a good candidate for the HydraTube. :2c: Have you given any thought to marketing it as such? I know this is a tricky question so please don't feel compelled to answer it definitively at this time if you haven't thought it through.

Do you agree the EQV could be viable alternative? Kindly correct me if I'm wrong. Is the VapeXhale unit fan driven or doesn't that factor in at all? In the videos it appears suction based.

You created a very intriguing product so I hope you don't find these question intrusive. :peace: Thanks!

PS: You could always use me as a beta tester

For what its worth I'm sure you could contact Vertigo and SGW to make a hydratube unless its patented? I'm interested in how exactly this will all be marketed as well, definitely looking forward to it.

BTW, that 'scientific glass' looks amazing. :o
Those bell like shapes above the joints did strike me as different. I'm really interested on how these will turn out with such a different perspective.

hereatlast,
i was actually going to use it as a whip end with an elbow to connect it. i have a glass on glass volcano bong but its like 2ft tall. i want something i can hold in my hand that has a perc and i can put ice in. i already have a wood stand i want to build for it. i just have to get my hands on one first. i hope to see the hydra tube as a by it self item as well as with the vape package. :))

oooh I like the look of the scientific pieces. Depending on the price gap/durability gap I might just opt for the inhouse piece until I find the perfect namebrand worked hydratube, since I know I'll be getting one. Are these (inhouse tubes) going to have their own launch kits? I also like that it looks like there's a smaller hydratree now, makes the decision between dome or hydratree even harder. man I cant wait until I can get one of these in my hands :brow:

Willeh,

max

Out to lunch
sm can clarify this if necessary, but basically the hydratubes that will be made by the 3 artists will be upscale tubes, with color and perhaps some features not found on the standard tubes. The kits offered at the lower, standard pricing level will have the clear, 'in house' tubes made by the scientific glass company. This setup will allow each 'starter kit' hydratube to be produced quicker than can be done by the artists, who are not set up to produce the kind of volume that VapeXhale will probably need. The artists' designs will be used for the basic tubes though. So everyone will get a tube designed by one of the 3, at least at first, but the standard tubes will be manufactured by the scientific glass company. Every customer will get top rate glass, and the in house production will prevent waiting time and backorders. This method will allow the scientific outfit to do what they do best, and also let the artists do their unique pieces at their own pace.

I would love to see a day 1 package choice that has those 2 in house hydratubes for around the same price as one of the artist choices. This would be especially great for someone like me that has never had any pieces with percs to figure out what type we like before we invest in something sick from sgw, vertigo or sovereignty in the future.

SM55 - So, if the intro price is 350 with a genuine showerdome OR tree, what would be the intro price with both (how much more for the other)?

I think that having a cheaper version of the glass is a good idea to expand your market, but you better bet I'll be going with the genuine sh!t. Seriously though... this thing looks way too awesome!! WISH I could do some beta testing for you guys - will just have to try to be patient I guess. Definitely want you guys to get this one right.

Sorry fellas, been living out of a suitcase this week and hadn't had a chance to type a proper response, so here goes!

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

RE Using HydraTubes with your Extreme We'd be more than happy to sell HydraTubes that can be used with other vaporizers but you may need someone to make you an adaptor so that you can make a proper connection.

RE patents - All we are at liberty to say (per our attorney) is that we are taking steps to protect all relevant intellectual property. We just can't comment any further until the attorney's and the USPTO finish doing their thing

RE- Pricing of VX Cloud, HydraTubes, Launch Packages I want to nip this in the bud (no pun intended) and properly set expectations. Just to put everything into perspective, let's keep in mind that the SSV with whip, Extreme, and Zephyr all go for about $299-350 and the Volcano somewhere in the $400-600 range.

The Cloud is, and always will be, considered a connoisseur's vaporizer. I know some people were already saying the $349 launch price tag (which will save you anywhere from $50-100 bucks off standard pricing) is high and that it is out of their budget. As much as we'd like to make it cheaper, there are certain materials that would not be compromised when developing this product. Unfortunately that raises our costs, but ultimately, creates a superior vaporizer.

Creating a vaporizer that would appeal to the masses seemed like a strategy for general blandness. Our idea was to target the vaporists that value superior taste, efficiency, low drag filtration, health, moisture conditioned vapor, and are not willing to compromise on any of those things

We are estimating that the inhouse HydraTubes will be about 20-30% cheaper than a "name brand" HydraTube. So if a SGW Showerdome is $200, then a VX ShowerDome will be around the $150 range. Glass is one of those funny materials that you just can't automate. Each HydraTube requires a human to shape it, mold it, and conform it until it resembles what we see in the pictures from the previous page. There is just no way of getting around paying labor charges for superior glass.

What we can guarantee is that regardless if it is one of our name brand or inhouse glass pieces, we will be using the highest quality borosilicate and everything is blown in California. We don't outsource our glass or import any cheap Chinese alternatives.

I'm a big believer in touting your strengths without trashing your competition but if you are having a hard time rationalizing our cost, you will need to ask yourself if the alternative provides you with:

Custom enclosure built from scratch. No off the shelf boxes, cylinders, trapezoids, etc etc

Custom designed heater, flexible, malleable, and most importantly safe and separated from the electronics and air path

All glass pass thru

Space age, thermal insulator Keeps the size and temperature down

Thermal retention that allows you to hit the vaporizer as fast or as slow as you like while still producing thick vapor

Engineered, designed, and built in the California, United States

In summary, we are doing everything we can to make our processes more efficient, cut logistics costs when possible, order raw materials in higher quantities, all with idea of keeping the Cloud at a reasonable price without compromising our ideals and quality. We hope this explanation gives you insight into our methodology and pricing.

Thanks for making such a strong statement about this sm55, I have been blown away by people complaining about price. After reading through this thread, and watching your videos countless times, I have full faith in my $349 going toward a truly amazing product, and I can't wait to drop my cash on it! I also recognize by the previously discussed hydratube prices, that you are giving us early adopters a VERY good deal.
