Welcome to FC @leveltree!

The Tubo is an excellent vape with plenty of accessories and different ways to use it (whip water cooler stem bent stem concentrates herb basket screen elbow pack etc...) I think it's a great choice if you're looking for a fun daily driver that's also a useful vaping tool. I have several portables and desktops and I still find myself reaching for the Tubo first!

As an asthmatic I appreciate the temp control and lack of draw restriction; and as a stoner I love that it's practically impossible to combust under regular or even heavy use.

The one thing I would consider though if you're looking for a single daily driver for several years; I don't believe this vape exactly has a complete warranty program. From the man himself:

BTW: regarding warranty: i am no asshole, but at this price i cant go replacing units easily, if anything should ever happen, you will have to argue hard with me :)
officially the evic is only warrantied for 90days by joyetech. i am thinking about including an outspoken/written warranty for everything done by me, but this will reflect directly on the price!

Just giving all the info as I understand it currently; don't mean to turn you off the Tubo! Mine has given me no indication of any failure after several months of heavy daily use. And it's affordable enough that you could almost buy 2 for the price of a different "high end" portable that doesn't boast half the performance or features.

I just mention it because I was recommending the Tubo to a friend the other day and he was wondering about warranty as well!

Hope to see you cruising soon! :D:rockon:

Great point about the warranty.

The good thing (or maybe it's bad) is that troubleshooting isn't too bad... The only issues I could see would be from some random catastrophic failure or if it broke from a drop or something.

I've clumsily let mine fall a few ft from my desk onto the carpeted floor with no issues, but I think if it fell onto a hard surface I would worry very much about either the glass around the coils or the female joint breaking.

never wanted to beat that one ;)

Thanks for pointing that out, it sure is a factor to consider.
But honestly I trust @funkyjunky enough to think, that he will build me a long lasting device and could help me if I needed to repair it. At least his record of support for this device was really good for what I have read til now.
And it looks like a device which can be relatively easily repaired, if something happens.
Maybe it's because reading all your 700+ exited posts last night but I'm feeling myself very impatient right now :D
Another reason might be the lack of alternatives at hand :D

blah blah blah broken tubo blah blah blah.

Something rattles now and the screen above the coils is now sitting directly on top of it and there's plenty of space for crap to get into the device/female joint.

Not sure what it affects but whatever. Shit is all scuffed and I'm pretty pissed. That's what I get for trying to walk the dog of course.

Thanks, the price point is right around doable for me. :)
I'm really happy now the FF2 was too expensive for me.
Would have never found this gem ;)

I am waiting on mine and haven't tried it but I think it's safe to say to say it's a great buy and one of the Best Buy's you could make at the price point. all of the reviews are very positive and anything anyone has a gripe about is very lil and hasn't stopped them from loving their device!

Jerked my arm/body by running to end of leash when she got excited and I wasn't paying attention (because I was pulling it out of my jacket) and it smashed on the ground.

Seems like I'll need to open it to get whatever is rattling... which is probably a wire that got knocked loose or one of the tubes that broke.

I don't have anything small enough to help fix the screen or re -place it to where it was (because I don't have any idea how exactly it was before)

If it makes you feel better I'm already thinking of ways I can snag a new one if need be.

Not if I can help it.

It heats up for sure... I do need to figure out what the rattling is, and also figure out how to move the screen back.

Wood got a little scuffed too but meh. Just want it to work normally.

That's also the last time I'll walk that dog. And the last time I'll take a vacation where it's necessary for me to walk the dog in order for me to vape.

edit: ok screen just needs to fit back and I'm good aside from the scuffs... Some shit definitely got under the screen because it smells like ass as I'm running cruise atm. Not sure if crusty old ABV or dirt from when it fell. Won't be using it til the screen is back in it's normal spot.

If someone could take a picture of the screen inside the female joint so I can at least have some idea of how I should be trying to put this back, that would be amazing. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your fumble @muunch! I tried to take a pic, it's hard to focus.. Not sure if that'll be useful to you or not.

My Tubo rattles a little bit when I shake it as well but it's the kind of rattle where you can tell it's just the internals rubbing together and not a chipped piece or parts loose... Hopefully it's just some dirt or herb down in there!

Thanks, I think the rattling is no cause for worry. None of the tubes are broken and it cruised at 500f no problems.

Is your screen kinda cupped up at all? I actually am not sure if I'll be able to get it to where it was stock...mine is actually bending the opposite way over the coils and the screen is definitely touching the wires/coils which is kinda worrying

Edit:

See the gap? It's like folded over the other way and idk how to flip it back up...

Also the damage isn't that bad but I'm still less than pleased. Of course something like this would happen to me the same day we were talking about warranty shit.

Hey @muunch ! I might have an idea how to get rid of the smell :)) !
Once my bubbler was very full of water and it did a terrible blow back in the chamber.. which resulted in burned taste.. I thought i ruined my tubo but.. i didnt gave up that easily. First thing i suggest u do is to completely remove that screen. I can tell you later how to put it back on and adjust via micro hook from wire :),it is really easy thing to do.
Next thing you get your vacuum cleaner and put in on lowest setting if it has, although i use mine on highest when cleaning no issue, airflow is so open that 1300 watts of vacuum go trough it like nothing.
Next thing you wrap a cloth around the VC's opening, so you dont touch your tubo directly with that dirty shit and have something inbetween so you dont scratch the wood.
Go from both sides of the glass chamber. and then from the sides where are the cooling holes :) !
Also about screen positing it is fine as long as it is over right over (in contact with the tubes. That way it shields the tubes from particles,i would not worry if there are tiny gaps from the sides of the glass chamber, that would make cleaning even easier, cause if you do it frequently you wont have to remove the screen at all, particles if fallen trough they will use those gaps to escape :) !
also make sure you wash the screen in iso ,cause i am sure it will smell like ass ,after what you described !
I hope that helps !

Hello guys and girls,
I read on FC before a couple of times but after pulling through this thread had to register :D
Was hooked on page 3 on this beautiful thing but wanted to know everything...

As I am only able to acquire one vape for the next years, would you with experience say, that I'd make the right choice with this?

Thanks for the reviews so far, I'm hooked to get a good cruise soon ;)

WELCOME WELCOME

Yeah so as far as performance you cannot go wrong, desktop and portable all in one, however yeah I wouldn't really consider this a durable out and about type portable personally... As @muunch revealed, you have glass, but also soft wood. However you know what you're getting into and know funky will do what he can

Though this would ofcourse be your number one, I'd highly suggest finding another inexpensive vape to get as a back up at the very least, as most of know it becomes necessary with technology's general tendency for occasional failure... Yeah that might be how VAS starts, but there really are plenty of cheap options now that could compliment Tubo even if they can't come close to replacing it

I was gonna suggest a brick jr or a vapcap myself.

Seems all is ok in tubo land again for me atm. I may mess with the screen when I get home but I'm assuming it's ok as it is for the next few days.

The things I worry most about are the female joint and the boro tubes but everything is ok - just scuffed and dirty and I'm still recovering from how pissed I was before. This trip would have been even worse without my tubo!

Thanks for the help @Prolusio @Abysmal Vapor
And I guess I just did some unintentional durability testing. Not all too bad for 3ft onto concrete...

Edit: my bent stem that was in the tubo when it got ripped from my hands survived without a chip and all my herb still intact. I just took the dog for a make-up walk and am now gonna cruise. Thanks again for the help! :haw:

Glad you got it going muunch ! Btw the rattling you hear might have been there ,even before you dropped it,the buttons are making slight rattling sound, when i shake my tubo, nothing to worry about :) !
---------------------------------------------------
On the backup subject mentioned in the posts above ,i suggest you look into log vapes, i have one working non stop for years, also recently adopted old square Aromazap which i think is about 15 years old from a German member :))which i can say is working very fine, and shows how these vape can stand trough the test of time. I also prefer my UD for quickness of extraction, and because it is always ready, and i can say taste is a little bit better than the tubo.
Recently i am using more and more the TUBO,because it offers PID temp control in C/F,has most open airflow ever ,and also because it is cordless and i can vape larger portions ,which delivers more bang .
