You should read the thread before posting because it has been clearly stated that pricing is not finalized, in fact just in his last post even and almost every page before it. I can see missing a question but this one has been asked on almost every page. If you look at the pricing one the regular un-worked pillars and availability for that matter, the cheapest they go for is $750, so to take a educated guess would be a similar to maybe slightly less for a Hydratube, and that's if they decide to make them for the Cloud.

I see it is mostly the new F.C. board members that are asking the same questions over and over again so I will explain it to you like this; imagine you are Stonemonkey and working on the release of a product and answer questions at the same time, asking the same questions over and over will make it harder to answer the questions that have not been answered.

Pricing and release date questions are the two most obvious questions, ask yourself, don't you think he would announce a Date & Price when he is ready.

Did sm give a ruff estimate for a simple hydra and a vx and the release date? I think so. pillars do go for 750 but waffles go for 300 and sm assured us that it will be no more than 400 with the vx. Yes they will make them if it is possible, ive read this thread and there seems to be enough interest. Plus why else would sm get them on the vx team which is already has plenty of the best glass blowers in the business unless he had plans to make a pillar hydra tube. No one has yet to ask for a estimate of a pillar and a vx, so it is an entirely new question. Considering iv bought over 700 of stuff from company that sm represented and am planing to spend at least that much on the vx, i would say im entitled to ask any question i want. lastly i am not a new member, i do not own a volcano and nor do i have love for it. i mean you've been here for only a month and 1 day more than me. My post count is only low because i only post when i have something to say.

i just dont understand why a site that is dedicated to herb contains so much negativity.

Two things. One, is..........what does owning or not owning a Volcano have anything to do with this?

And two, is your claim that this site has so much negativity, I just don't think is accurate. The mods as well as some of the old guard members here, just don't put up with a lot of the stuff that tends to happen at other sites, one of which is asking a question that has already been asked numerous times that a simple search would pick up (.......and I'm not throwing you in that category. Just bringing it up as an example)

This site tries to stay structured, and I for one, appreciate that.

I really was not trying to be negative in any way, my goal in fact was to make aware that the same question has been asked numerous times which proves that the poster would rather not read useful material in order to gain knowledge, instead some would rather go the easy route and post a question that has already been answered, a form of instant gratification if you will. It would also be nice if you would make an attempt to use some form punctuation, and paragraphing because it makes your post extremely difficult to read.

What lwien says is correct about most members really enjoy this board versus others because it has a great structure and I will add that in my opinion the this board has more knowledgeable members & staff than most of the money hungry, advertisement ridden boards out there.

to digress

lwien

you have just recently gone out of the way to violate the boards rules by posting in the for sale thread

regardless though

NONE OF THIS MATTERS

lets get back on topic

PLEASE

Mod note: You're criticizing an off-topic post by making one that's even more off-topic? :/

No worries on asking me questions, that is what I am here for. I understand that there is a lot of material but I do ask that you at least peruse the thread at least once just to get a basic understanding of how the vaporizer works. I re-read everything today and it was an awesome journey to read the step by step process of how everything came together.

With that said, I do not know how much a Pillar HydraTube will cost. We are thinking of doing things slightly different, to give it a little twist so it wouldn't be the same exact experience as a conventional Pillar but just in HydraTube form.

Did sm give a ruff estimate for a simple hydra and a vx and the release date? I think so. pillars do go for 750 but waffles go for 300 and sm assured us that it will be no more than 400 with the vx.
I don't re-call ever saying a Waffle HydraTube + VX Cloud would be no more than 400 but we will offer special deals on Cloud Kits with various HydraTubes at differing times and that price point would be realistic during one of the specials.

@Durden, a picture is worth a million words :o You hit the nail on the head, the Pillar is just one of Sovereignty's many advancements in glass tech that we will be leveraging. The high flow splash guard is insanely good at its day job and just gives it that "Sovereignty" look and feel.

I'm happy to answer any additional questions about the Cloud, HydraTubes, and whatever else is on your mind.

Official Message from Chris aka the Robot - VapeXhale Operations Field Report:

You guys have all been so supportive and engaged I thought we owed it to you to supply you with some specifics. SM55 is a visionary and that's good - that's why he is our CEO. But being the Robot, I deal in specifics. So here's whats going on:

The innards (e.g., board, heating element, glass path, et cetera) are done. We received the enclosures on Friday of last week. PowerNerd3000 (PN3K) took them to his lab over the weekend and here's what he had to say:

The inner enclosure looks perfect and comes together solidly. There are two issues that must be remedied at the casting level:

The holes for the knob and power switch do not line up with the PCB.

We have some tapping issues (e.g., extruding tabs that screw in should not be tapped, et cetera)

The outer shield looks cool but there are two issues that need to be fixed for the first production run:

The centralizing tabs must be switched to friction lock. The wings need to be inverted and edged so that we can push each side together and have them lock.

We need to add an additional screw hole above the one that attaches it to the main enclosure for safety.
That's it guys. We're very (very) close. But close isn't good enough.

When we started this I mandated a few things: its got to be safe, its got to be great, and its got to be bullet proof. We've got the first two sorted out. Now we're closing like a freight train on the third.

Thanks for your continued support - website launch coming shortly

Appreciate the update! I'm sure you'll have the issues sorted out soon enough :)

Can't stop the head rush!
So close guys. keep up the good work. i have so much confidence this is gunna be a superb machine since we have been kept in the loop during its whole design and manufacturing stages, and are even informed on whats still wrong with the unit. There isnt many (if any) companies that do this. I know you guys will approach customer service in the same way, which will really help the rep of the cloud. A lttle while longer and all your hard work is really gunna pay off for u guys.

I like the fact that this has an all-glass vapor path. Silicon oxides are not toxic, as opposed to many metal oxides.

StoneMonkey, will the glass-on-glass fitting be reinforced (thicker than normal) to protect it against potential damage and breaking?

The glass-on-glass fitting is right between two heavy pieces which can pivot somewhat, allowing for it to be stressed if it leans too much. Will this problem be addressed in the design of the VapeXhale?

All glass path except for the two screens. Don't forget we're dealing with vaping temps here, not torching a bowl at 2000+ degrees.

I couldn't agree more with Mr. Smoke, you guys completely exemplify how companies should be run. I have a feeling the Cloud will be a bigger name than the Volcano one day...

Ok first of all I apologize profusely but after searching the many pages seeking an answer...perhaps I missed the pertinent page...but I have a question.

What is the temperature range of the unit?

If it is what im looking for then I will hold off on the extreme or perhaps a volcano and purchase a Cloud instead.

@Ohigho

The last I heard it will do the full range, from zero to combustion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but then you could use this as someone would use a traditional water bong (with nice glassworks)? Meaning I could use this to let a glass/water fanatic get used to the hardware and slowly lower the temperature and get them into vaping?

thanks

Tom

[I'm assuming the glass would be easy to clean if one were to intentionally or accidentally combust in the VapeXhale?]

@Mr. Smoke No More and agentofchaos - Thanks a lot, those kind words are much appreciated. We've been burning the midnight oil and those little words of encouragement give us a second wind to keep pushing through the fatigue and to ensure that no corners are cut with the Cloud.

@aero18 - Every glass piece from the bowl, to the trees in the HydraTubes, etc etc have all been reinforced in some manner. At the end of the day, it is still glass and you need to treat it accordingly. We will never approach the durability of a log style vape, but our design will be an evolutionary step towards more durability for glass based vaporizers.

When using the Cloud, or any glass based vape like the VHW or Herborizer, I found that minimizing risk is the best approach to using this type of vaporizer. I have a house full of dogs and when I pull out my expensive glass, the dogs go into a separate room. You can't prevent all accidents but you can definitely minimize risk.

@tdavie, ohigho - Vtac is correct that you can achieve combustion with the Cloud but we will be putting some sort of limiter on the high end of the temperature spectrum so that you cannot combust your herbs. Our target market are vaporists and although I can understand the logic of a vaporizer that can help ease someone into vaporization, we are heavily promoting the healthiness of vaporizing and combusting would go against that philosophy.

To be specific, would it be able to reach 230c?

Thats about the last factor in my decision. This thing looks like a wicked convergence of ideas. Combining a water pipe and a vape AND it looks like a lightsaber. Mmm, vapesaber. :D

That's approximately combustion point and sm said they'd be limiting the high end temp to prevent that. You're not letting the temp settings on the Extreme confuse you I hope. The E doesn't actually get to a vaping temp of 230 C. You couldn't combust with it if you wanted to.

If it is what im looking for then I will hold off on the extreme or perhaps a volcano and purchase a Cloud instead.
Cloud vs. the Volcano is apples and oranges. One is a bong style big hitter (direct draw only), and the other is strictly bag fill. First decide on how you want to get your vapor- direct draw, sucking a bag, or both (Extreme, herbalAire, or Ion). I can tell you that most vapor enthusiasts end up using mostly direct draw. You can't beat a bag filler for parties and introducing newbies to vapor, but most go with direct draw for taste, richer vapor hits, and the ability to control your hits. Bags give you diluted vapor, taste wise, and the sameness of every hit ends up being a little boring.

I think you missed what Max was saying about the 230c temperature. The point is that one vaporizers 230c might be another model's 200c, it really just depends on where they place the thermocouple to take the temperature. In reality if the herb itself reached 230c, you would be smoking it rather than vaporizing.

Will it be able to vape to a DARK brown sm55?

I hit my Supreme @ 350F and it's probably not the cleanest vapor but it provides the best high and I would hate to go back to a PD temp.
