Late last year George included a Ti stem with one of my orders after seeing me post some of my other Ti stems I made in the thread. This one he sent looked to be a prototype that wiggled slightly off when it was having the finishing touches put on it. I finally got around to finishing the cut ends on the inside and drilling the carb out. I put it on my concentrate vapcap with a Gen1 7fin Ti tip and yes, original red Orings:o which are frayed but still holding and my spinning Ti mouthpiece.

The bad spot is just a slight area where the shiny rings didn't quite get cut all the way into the sandblasted part. It's not pictured but barely noticeable.

Thanks again @VapCap !! I'm putting it to good use!

XL Ti Uni with Ti spinning mouthpiece.

And it does fit in my custom XL stash.

i know it says per linear inch, however they only list 1/4 inch... is that really $1500 for 1/4"

wow, $6k for a whole inch.. thats CRAZY! ;)
I think 1/4 " it's the diameter of the billet .
So for a small billet 6,35 mm x 25,4 mm the price is $1500.
Still I'm not quite sure that a full body or stem can be made easily out of these billets.
Or if it's worthy at all.

But ,I can easily see the use of them as part (inlays ,layers ,coronas ,etc ) of wooden pieces ,
like mps ,bodies and stems .
That can be done .

My experience with the M has changed, I thought it was a bit too sedate. Longer to heat and not so thick vapor production. I was using the same technique for both the Ti and SS.

Now I've changed the way I'm heating I've got different results.

I'll heat either until or just before the first click, as soon as it's clicked I'll force the cool click and then heat to the click again before drawing on it.
Still got to keep trying it but so far it's had better flavor and vapor and 3 heat cycles.

The contents are spent but not as dark as the Ti after 3 cycles.

Tried a couple of 14mm joints with different O rings.
6mm with a 1,5mm thickness. All glass is not the same the tip sits fine in the polished glass but is too loose in the ground one.
PLVbgHL.jpg

Magnets, I have a few quite strong ones but no way the pull that some others have, mine are a PITA enough either sticking to or shit sticking to them. Hate to think how bad it is with the stronger ones.

Tolerance, if you have a high tolerance then try using kief or make a concentrate pad. Saves doing multiple green bowls.
Even if you don't vape tons I would still say try it, two or three small lumps of pressed kief give great flavor and vapor production.

@alltoreup What an amazing piece !
Me thinks that small blemishes sometimes are giving unique character.
;)

@phattpiggie
Brother ,it seems really interesting .
But ,help me a tad .
"force the click " ?
If i've understood correctly you do not inhale after the first heat up click ,right ?
But then how you force the cool down click ?
By touching the cap on a magnet / any kind of heat sinking material /object ?

It's another kind of "preheating " .
Yes,I agree with you.
SS tip when preheated produces smoother and more aromatic/flavourfull vapor.
I've noticed that too ,but via another way of preheating.

ohh, 1/4" diameter.. i got you.. yeah i can see that now..

but hell, if there are people out there who pay premium retail for mothership glass, im sure someone will take a designer piece out of precious metals.

@stardustsailor thanks! I'm really liking this one. I have a XL Ti stem that's the same length but no MP just a taper and it's a bit beefier. This one has a slightly smaller diameter due to the design and feels much different in the hand. Plus it is perfectly balanced. I had it balanced on the curved edge of the stash and it was right in the middle perfectly balanced. Nice!

@phattpiggie I just grabbed my wife's M for "testing" purposes and indeed a quick preheat just towards the tip followed by a quick cool down followed directly by a reheat and first inhale right then produced a quite tasty and quite visible first hit. Much better:tup:

@stardustsailor I think precious metal rings would be really nice, but also expensive. I'd love to do some work with gold when I can. Inlay might be a better way of applying it to a stem which would be fun to try. I think I'll perfect my method of making pieces with common metals before I move on to more exotic materials.

Speaking of metal rings, I just completed this cherry and maple piece here.

@alltoreup I've just had a bowl, but I've been heating more toward the digger.
Using my long Padauk, non of my stems have a carb.

I got flavor for longer and more draws per cycle.

One cycle and quick cool and three further cycles. Triple turned up a little and I always force the click usually with lid of my torch.

ABV is not as dark and I'm battered in a different kind of way.

@Winegums you could try silver coins, yours have better silver content than ours.

Since I received my first Nonavong two months ago, I was interrested about the size/ratio of the 9 sides. I first tought that they were 3 main large flat sides, and the space in between was divided into 2 equal side to make a total of 9. But in mine the 6 smaller sides wasn't equal, in each side one was larger than the other. I tought that this was just a manufacturing process imperfection result, but since, I had 4 different Nonavong in my hands and ALL of them had the same characteristics.

Then, one day, by looking at one of mine, I saw the truth :

Vapour RebeL
It's so pleasing to be able to read through comments that are full of positiveness, love and information on your beloved VC!!.. I mean, DynaVap has really nailed it...
Anyway, I've been away from posting for some time now.. I've been reading you tho gus n' gals..
I did receive my order on exact time.. Not a day longer.. amazing stuff.. and I'm a super happy VCer, with my little accidents of course.. a burnt lip (tried to blow the cap to cool it down even faster) and accidentally touched the cap for a millisec or so but still gave me a slightly burnt lip for almost 3 days.. and a burnt finger... after messing up with my XLS Nonavong thinking that I was holding a pen while trying to take some notes on a youtube video I was watching... :p
Other than that, my M and my XLS blackwood NonaV look very pretty both of them and each one has taken its role.
The M is for outdoor, pairs up with my bike just fine.
SXGyzdB.jpg

And the XLS for any glass temptation and inhouse use only!
I must say that the M is definitely a winner but the exotic MP also seats nice on your lips.
glppQrb.jpg

Almost forgot... I did order the quad torch from Dyna and that's what I have to say...
ITS A F*** GAME CHANGER.... The whole technique changes and the fact that the heat up time reduces significantly (no more than 3-4" for a 1st normal hit) makes the vape even stealthier... I mean I can literally vape everywhere and being discreet at the same time..
I'm not sure if the Ti Tip roasts your flower faster and in less hits rather than the M. It definitely needs gentler flame whereas with the M you can be more aggressive. Still figuring out though...

All my other friends that got their toys were really excited and overwhelmed with them.. so happy that I've made some of them quit smoking and even getting into vape.... and VC of course!!!

Itt6mse.jpg

Almost felt like I was going for a football match the other day!! There were even more in there but I totally forgot shooting it then.. The past few days have been full of demonstrating and all that.. :sherlock::myday::freak:
Cheers people!! :science::leaf:

I would like to ask to vapcappers experimenting some throat/lung/chest irritation or harshness: do you use it as intended or do you close carb hole when hitting?

I find huge difference in harshness and without water I am quite unwilling to hit it carb closed because of this
Closing the carb hole while drawing on the 'Cap IS using the piece as intended.

The difference I find is between diluting a mouthful of vapor with fresh air while inhaling the drawn vapor, and NOT diluting a mouthful of vapor with fresh air while inhaling...if your experience is unpleasant and harsh, I respectfully suggest you pay closer attention to the details and method of your 'performance process', and modify your technique as dictated by your considered observations

Andreaerdna

If God is the answer, then the question is wrong
Closing the carb hole while drawing on the 'Cap IS using the piece as intended.

I respectfully disagree, carb hole allows fresh air in and (as in other similar devices) it is intended to be used open, otherwise our dear and smart George would not have open a hole in the body at all, or created twisted condenser to help mix vapor with fresh air

That being said to each one its own opinion and as I already said so many ways to enjoy

I think it's a personal choice. I need a carb hole. I got a stem from George but made by someone else and he put a hole in it for me. I also got a beautiful stem from someone else that I don't use because there is no carb hole. Yet quite a few people like those that are made without them.

Volute of Vapor
I think he wants to mean you need to close the carb hole in order to get vapor production and open it when you get enough vapor in you or to refresh a bit during hit. I agree with him you can't get any vapor if you let the carb hole open continuously.

Tolerance, if you have a high tolerance then try using kief or make a concentrate pad. Saves doing multiple green bowls.
Yes but it's very messy... I got issues to clean my OG after some uses, will try again with a coton ball. And i think it might be difficult to extract everything (except maybe for kief from grinders) since the clic allow you lower temp than needed for concentrates.... and since we must to respect the clic....

Let me make an analogy to any GLASS pipe that has a carburetor: if you DO NOT close the carburetor, you will pull little smoke, and so not fill the pipe; if you do not OPEN the carburetor, the smoke will stay inside the pipe - and it won't get inhaled.

The VapCap mechanism is not identical to that of the glass pipe, but the operating principle is very similar. By closing the carb, you conserve heat and maximize vapor production, drawing it slowly out of the chamber into your mouth (or lungs); by opening the carburetor, you clear the vapor pathway and you inhale the concentrated vapor in your mouth, mixing it with fresh cool air on its way into your lungs (technically, this is what ANY kind of carburetor actually DOES - the one on your car, for example, where it mixes fuel with air).

My only purpose is/was to clarify the principles at work, not to criticise the preferences of others; the use of the carburetor is a sequence of actions serving a purpose, not really a choice at all - but everyone must do what they feel is right. I wish you health and bliss!

@ClearBlueLou I see no offense or criticism, only civilised exchange of facts and opinions.

I do agree carb hole recall old bong stile carb hole but the volume to clear in a bong is relatively huge, in VC this is very very small and you can clear it by drawing until tip is cold

Also the turbulated condenser are really there from day 1, if carb hole was intended to help clear the condenser than there would be no need to make it twisted me think

Anyway, I only wanted to recall that in the origin carb hole was intended to be used open, IIRC confirmed by George himself (really unsure about this), later on our fellow @natural farmer (maybe the first one spreading this technique) found he likes it better carb closed and told it to the forum, and because of he is a wise man, he saw it righ: a lot of VCers like it that way too. That doesn't change the original intended use of carb hole though.

Vapman is a very similar device in heat management:
Mainly conduction/radiation with little convection, very short vaporpath, "carb holes" to dilute vapor and smooth it. Same as VC some wise users found out that closing vapman "carb holes" with tooth picks gives denser vapor, but also hotter and more irritating one

I've been enjoying concentrates with my Vapcap lately. My usual material had been flowers and hash. But after reading of @herbivore21 s love of concentrates and how convenient and efficient the Vapcap rose to the challenge, I dove right in.

I started with a S&B concentrate pad, a pair of flat nosed pliers, sharp side cutters and of course my beloved Omnivap.
SM9IoMV.jpg

I compressed the sides of the disk shaped pad until it became a cylinder shape with the diameter of the Omni herb chamber.
C0qLWKg.jpg

The cylinder ended up being about twice as long as the chamber is deep. So I cut it in half.
C2FyLh1.jpg

One pad is stuffed into the chamber and the other is put away for another day.
1RcYLBo.jpg

Top the pad with the concentrate of choice - here we have Girl Scout Cookie wax - and you have yourself set up in tokes for a good long while.

I find this super convenient. I'll take my Omni out while I work around outside. Every couple of hours I heat the Omni past the click for 2-3 seconds, take a nice full thick toke and carry on with hauling hay, weeding, planting, whatever. Yesterday I spent the day clearing tent caterpillars from the fruit trees and squishing them mercilessly on a rock. Yuck! I hate those bastards!

The concentrate lasts all day long. One toke at a time. An all day sucker. It's fantastic!

Is there any difference between the concentrate pads for the Mighty and Crafty?

I am one of the new users of the Dynavap, I saw all the momentum in this forum, my VAS took over, and I ordered an M with the 420 sale. I've used it now for 1-2 weeks and I am just am not impressed, perhaps I'm doing something wrong. A typical session for me goes like this, first time heat up I get some flavor, no cloud, but a little flavor. Second time heatup I get 1 or 2 decent hits, lousy taste. Third heatup, not much of anything. I keep my finger over the carb the entire time, or I get nothing. It seems like a lot of work and inconsistent results. How do I clean my cap, the torch is taking its toll on it?
Thanks

I burned my arm the other day, reaching up to scratch an itch, and grazing across a freshly heated cap while I was puffing... better pay more attention eh? :p That little sucker is hot, left a blister and a red mark on my arm. I will remember to pay attention better now though hehehe... no repeats. Unfortunately I didn't get any cool reversed branding... just a red mark

Almost branded myself with "pacpav" on my forehead testing a different body style (to be compatible with 10mm mini rigs). Just a proof of concept ... experimenting and getting ideas.
