Is the battery supposed to be flush when inserted?

It is supposed to stick out a little, you tighten it with the copper, but it won't be fully flush in the wood if that's what you mean. It's designed to poke out a little to protect the bottom spring getting depressed.

got it working with a little persuasion...impressive so far

Nice! Practice makes perfect

Anyway here it is enjoy :science:
Awesome although I haven't been able to get those results.

As for the battery fitment issue, are these units tested before they leave home or is this a case of the wood swelling/settling? Pardon the MI newbie question.

Practice makes perfect! I have had mine for ages :) and made a concerted effort to keep trying different combos of all the variables to see what works best. Which I still do regularly... but that is another story just keep practicing and every time you pack a stem think to your self what am I going to try different this time? Pack, button time, draw speed?
The last I think is the biggest factor, learning to draw slow enough but high enough volume... Sounds like a contradiction but you will get there.
Practice with changing draw speed during a hit slow right down feel the heat then ramp speed up again (don't do it like a switch go in increments) to about 2/3's power then let go the button and keep the same speed but try and widen your throat moving more air and clear the camber.
Should get you a good hit!
As far as the bat not fitting, first I've heard of it. Are you sure you didnt squash the terminal trying to get the battery in far enough? Sorry to ask.
I would have thought the drill used to make the hole for the battery would be standard across all Milaana?

:peace:

I've been getting good rips right out of the box with this. I tend not to hold the heater button too long, 5-10 seconds or I might pulse if I go a little longer, so I dont think I let it get too hot because I don't want to combust. I like a cigar puff technique and so when I see I'm puffing out some vapor then I lengthen my draw. The first hit is always tasty and wispy but by the second or third hit I get really big clouds. I use the basket screens that came with the ddave mods and those sit close to the heat source and I pack it light. I've been playing with small chunks lately, I think I draw the flavor out for a few extra hits and then break it up with a toothpick and rip it hard to finish it off. I'm finding it pretty versatile, I can sip it leisurely or I can hit it hard.

I like to pack about three stems and rotate through them and savor the flavor and then later when I'm already well done I come back and see if there is anything to finish off.

In a couple of stems I've played with using the stock screen in the back part of the stem opening with some hemp fiber behind it and the ddave basket in the front of the opening. This helps collect little bits and keeps the stem clean.

And of course it's fun to hold.

The moment you wanted to tell politely another member to read the thread and realized it's now way over 300 pages long!
No, sits above about 1/8-1/4"

Edit, sorry, quoted the wrong post, was referring to @C-weed's question about battery position

The wife and I just drove home from a great stay in Philly (unbelievable food by the way).

After I cleaned the crap out of the car, the Milaana and I went to the back porch and picked up where we left off.

Had a good go of it today with a basket screen, 3-5 second preheat every hit and a 10 second hit. Hits were big and tasty.

Apparently the Milaana is smarter than me!

I do love that it feels like a solid hunk of wood in my hands.

Really the most difficult transition for me may be using stems. They are so new to me and I'm still quite awkward loading and carrying them around.

They took me a while to get used to. The hair tie idea I think I picked up from @AJS is perfect. Stem in one side pick on the other. Can even pre load the stem and pop it all in hoody pocket!
Edit: do have to tamp a bit if doing this.

Shown is with @DDave 14mm stem but this works well with stock stem too...

Dope! surprisingly cheap and not terrible looking. I suppose worn around the shoulder/chest(?) I may be able to deal...

I was also being mostly sarcastic w my last post but now I may actually get it.. lol
I looked it up as a joke but am now considering it as well. Hahahaha.

Imagine if you ever go for a walk or a bike ride or a hike or a drive ... no backpack needed for your "essentials"... all right there!!

I wouldn't wear it if I couldn't fit it around my shoulder/chest and even then i'd probably be self conscious.

I have a backpack for my Switch which I can fit more than everything needed... plus then I have my switch...

For loading, did you try making a fine line of material in your palm then sucking it all using the stem directly? It's fast and effortless, no need to mess with funnels or anything. For unloading just blow into the stem.

To carry them around I use the 18650 case, rattles a bit but it's safe and can survive a drop.

I suck load my stems, and even the M2Ms I use. I like a relatively loose pack and I get it this way. When I need to stir I often dump it out in my hand and then suck it back in the stem. I do the same with my VCs. It's just easier for me, and when easy works I do it.

I just bought a new grinder and it grinds a little finer, so we will see if this method still works well for me, but I think it will after only a couple days.

I got a few that have rounded corners and two little folding tabs that clip to secure the thing shut. Must be the "deluxe" quality somehow. Got them with Chinese cells though...

But the squarish ones that came with the Mi are alright too. I must admit I didn't do intensive drop tests, for obvious reasons!

Suck and load method for me too but there has to be a better name :)!

Is there a case similar to the 18650 case that will hold the longer stem or DDave mods?
I use an eGo case from an ecig shop that holds everything I need. Was $5

EDIT:
FINALLY decided to try and start a best of thread for the Milaana. Nominated my own post but it is a post that encompasses the perspectives of 4 or so members on their techniques. If it gets approved .. from now on ... every time you see a post worthy of the best of thread ... copy the link number and post it in the best of thread under portable section. It will be easy to direct people over there .. as this thread is getting too long to navigate and a lot of it is filled with experiences with techniques hidden within massive blocks. Let's help out our fellow newcomers by making their lives easier to find the information they need.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers out there...future generations rely on you for success ... your job is infinitely important and often overlooked ... but always appreciated when recognized. Keep up the good work, you're all amazing.
